Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
Is this sarcasm?

Seriously, I hope the game is great and all, but I struggle to see how anyone can look at these screenshots and say that it looks on par with current gen games or significantly better than Fallout 3. Bethesda dropped the ball hard with the graphics; here's to hoping that that doesn't reflect on the quality of the rest of the game.
Because fallout 3 looked like this.

I guess it won't be possible as every PC version is a steam copy, and it'll unlock at (about) the same on November 10th.

Probably. Damn that sucks. I wish Bethesda would at least give us some official screens. Most games that do big numbers on PC get them before launch like Witcher 3 for example

Uh yeah, it's called continuity...

I think using the same voice actor for every single super mutant is more an issue with budget, time constraints, and resource allocation, than it is with lore.

If it were a continuity thing, I don't think many people would mind a retcon on this one.

I'm not sure if you're being serious. I thought creatures like ghouls and Super Mutants shared the same voice because of some sort of limitation not because of continuity.
(Like most Bethesda games, one actors does all these difference characters and whatnot.)
I genuinely didn't expect them to have the same voice as before. Its a bit jarring and sounds goofy to me, especially with how much more detailed they are now. When I first saw them in early trailers I thought for sure they'd have deep menacing voices. Did they sound like that back in fo1 and fo2?

Shinobi's third round of shots aren't in the OP :/

Conspiracy theorists alive and well it seems lol. Yea, the point was to show that the game can look good just as it can look not quite so good, like every game. No reason to hide anything. Here, some with a bit longer draw distances. Last ones for real this time:

Guys, I'm fucking with you lol. I didn't really mean it. :)

Really liking that one shot Shinobi posted of the lighting from the vault door. One of the guys who made a write up about the game said the illumination was very impressive, so I am very curious about that. I love good lighting and wasn't expecting that in F4 tbh.

I really wonder if we're finally going to be hearing much more different voices, cause boy.... In F3 and Skyrim we still heard the same voices many many times.

Yeah, I wasn't sure at first lol. I've seen some pretty ridiculous/wonky things in videogames be defended on Gaf. But yeah, like the earlier poster before me said, I would've been more than OK with them redoing all the voice work for the mutants if it was a continuity thing lol
Voices aside I love how visceral the combat looks now. That combat music really sets the tension.

Ah I'm sorry, I really didn't mean it lol. Don't take it to heart! Anyway, are you excited for FO4?

No, I mean I'll take to heart the fact that you guys like to have fun. I'm bad at idioms, haha.

And yes! Just watching the leaks roll out one by one. Part of me doesn't want to spoil anything, but I just can't stop. :D

That Xbone video look really ugly like in last gen ugly. Maybe its the video quality. The PS4 png stills look much much better though.

I have never played FO before but the gameplay looked super easy to me, specially pausing the game and aiming at the enemy killing it in one shot. Honestly we need a FPS that is made like a Souls game.

Not every thing in this world should be made like a Souls game, gah.

Is that really what Witcher 3 looks like on console? Because if so holy shit the difference between that and PC Ultra is pretty staggering

That's just the first one I found in the console screenshot thread when running a search, I think it's Xbox One (So 900p?). To be fair - that's probably one of the less flattering shots I've seen. The way the lighting hits the foliage is odd

Better yet, Platinum should make it.

Funny thing is that I bet the reviewers from IGN, etc will gave Fallout 4 full marks or praise about the graphics.

And if they do, what of it? It looks great. When you zoom in to screenshots or take a screenshot 3 inches away of a wall and say 'LOOK! UNACCEPTABLE GRAPHICS!', it's uh....it looks fine. Better than last gen Fallout games, and for what it's doing, decent enough for current gen.

Bu bu but it doesn't look as good as The Witcher 3 and as we all know The Witcher 3 is the benchmark for all things forever and ever amen.

dude hit the DF page for Witcher 3

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-face-off

and then right click any PS4 or Xbox One image in the comparison tool and hit 'view image'. The game looks great but it can be nitpicked just as easily as Fallout at times. I'm surprised Fallout 4 gets as much shit for its visuals, it's got cleaner image quality on consoles at the very least, and I personally don't even think it's that far behind Witcher 3 in terms of texture quality either, based on what I've seen.

Yeah watching the videos it looks way more similar to Fallout 3 than I originally thought. Was expecting the Oblivion>>Skyrim graphics jump.
