Is the moonlight sword good at lvl 80-100? What stats should I put to get the best out of it? I was thinking about 20str and 40-50 arcane, but I don't know how this weapon scales.

It is not good at low levels because you need a lot of stat investment before it surpasses LHB or Chikage. Scaling is B/C/A and it has build in arcane damage so you can't go full arcane with it.

You can use it as a pure physical weapon with 50/25 (bad) or 50/50 (better) STR/SKL and physical gems. After that you should reach 30+ arcane and replace the physical with nourishing gems. At 50/50/50 it will easily outperform LHB.

Someone was talking during a youtube video that they added +40% physical damage gems with the latest patch. Do you guys know where are they located? Is it the challice dungeons/main game/dlc??
I'm in NG++ with the DLC and they are kinda fucking me up.

+40% physical damage gems? Now that would be most broken shit ever.

first try. It was pretty messy and I think I got really lucky.
I didn't know you could riposte his stomach
until it happened. Thought the fight was pretty fun overall.

Edit: Doubt they would add gems that broken to the game. The +20-27% cursed gems are already pretty broken tbh.

I hate having to repeat this but that was a troll patch note made up and originating in the gamefaq forums LOL

I'm trying to get the Dark Beast in Lower Loran. not the most difficult boss, but his charged AoE attack is just... cheating. Even if you can see it coming, you're too late, and it takes 80% of your health. After that it's always the decision whether to roll or to heal, but either way, you'll get smacked.

If anyone wants to help in the lower loran chalice... it'd be great.

So guys, exactly how awesome is the Rakuyo? I checked a few vids online and fell in love with the moveset. It seems to have the most flashy combos, so I'm really looking forward to getting it.

I platinumed the game when it released but I've begun a new character for the DLC. How easy is it to get the weapon? Can I get it fairly quickly? I hated my second playthrough where I had to rush to Gehrmann to get Burial Blade, so I'm hoping I can quickly get Rakuyo within the first few hours or so.

hahaha, "rush to burial blade".

But getting the rakuyo is doable, but pretty shitty. You need to get to the third and last area in the DLC, so if I were you I'd take another weapon and level that up easy going, and when you get the rakuyo you're bound to have enough materials to make that your second.

You need to kill a combination of a couple of the most annoying enemies in the game, and you're visceral damage is shit, it's going to be very hard or with co-op or with another trick, which you can google.

WTF? I beat Isz dungeon yesterday and when I turned the console on today all of sudden the dungeon is now become a fully explored pthumeru ihyll??I did make an ihyll dungeon next to it and I was inside it before quitting the game so maybe it has something to do with the glitch :(

my farming spot in Isz is gone now.

So, we're talking a cheese? Awesome! I pissed away whatever little pride I had in my skills way back in Feb, when I cheesed the Abhorrent Beast with Molotovs and Poison Knives, so this shouldn't make me cringe on the inside as much.

Not really a cheese, just a way of minimizing risk, but you will still die.

Easiest for me was the parry to visceral route.

Yeah, parrying their normal right hand punch is easy. What throws me of is their leaping attack and their sack. Haven't really figured out the distance at which they perform their leap attack (which actually 1-hit KOs me at my current level, I think). Sometimes I'm quite close and they jump straight in my face, other times they jump at me when I'm so far away there is no way they'll reach me.
I guess their buff is when they briefly glow red, and afterwards they start running at you, right?

Thanks! Still hoping for a DeS/DaS1 PS4 port, then I can play them all on the same console with the DS4 :p

At this point I wouldn't hold my breath for a Dark Souls port, but you can play that on PC with your DS4 anyway. Demon's Souls, maybe.

The DLC is pretty good. And I don't even own it yet.

All that stuff about it being too hard on NG+ made me play the game again to get up to snuff from my level 100 ish. Doing Chalice mostly, stuff I didn't invest in too much. Was at Lower Pthumeru, now at Defiled.

So I like what they did. If the DLC was doable right away I probably wouldn't revisit the game proper.

I haven't seen any. I'm on NG+7
Now cleared DLC. I've got a shit ton of + 20% physical from chalices but I ran a bunch of them

Holy guacamole... the Research Hall is an amazing area. The spiralling stairs and the verticallity of this is baffling.

And what the hell is the exploding shelves? I had been playing one hour with a cooperator when I ran past some in the upper-most floor and I just died instantly.

I never worked out how they worked.

I never quite beat Bloodborne. My save file is right before the last boss. Is this an ok time to go back and do the DLC or will I be too overpowered for it to be fun?

Depends entirely on your level and what you consider to be fun. Over lvl80 will make the first area and second area a cakewalk. Third area will be reasonably challenging even with lvl100+.

i'm in the same boat. level 173. getting to ludwig? no problem, but man i just cannot figure out his patterns effectively enough to kill him. if i can't beat it after a session tonight i'm going to co-op. i really don't want to. i beat the main game, chalice dungeons, platinum'd it all completely solo. same thing happened to me on DSII SotFS. beat the whole main game solo, most of the DLC, but had to co-op a couple of DLC bosses. feels bad man

Any specific attack that's giving you trouble?

It's doable, mate. But yeah, takes a while before you can dodge pretty much everything he throws at you (and even then, only if you stay focused). Awesome boss though.

He gave my New Game++ character hell. Level 173 too by the way. :)

nothing in particular. i've always been a "kill him before he kills me" style of player. meaning i usually take hits in order to dish out as much damage as quickly as possible. i mostly do that out of necessity, as i can never dodge any bosses attacks enough consecutively to avoid getting hit at all. with ludwig i get caught in this loop where he hits me and i end up dodging his attacks simply to buy myself enough time to heal, only to get hit again.

yeah i'm going to give it another solid go before i give up :)

Am I overleveled for NG+? 180 and killed it in the first try (never played it before or watched youtube)... I found even cool the middle cutscene.

BTW the second part of the battle is too easy... the first one made me use a lot of health recover.

Way overleveled for NG+. Even for NG++ I think that is too high.

lol what asshole on the dev team was the braintrust behind the two giant fishmen fight for that one weapon? It's like all the horrible Dungeon Master stories I've ever heard.

"I shoot the fishman while he's on the ceiling."

"Time and Space is distorted around the fishman on the ceiling and your bullet misses."

"Okay I rush the fishman on the ground down before the other one activates."

"Time and Space compels him to stop attacking you and regroup next to the second fishman."

It's like fucking come on. This is the only fight I can think of that's this contrived in the game. Time to look up bullshit strategies
I mentioned in a post already. Approach from behind. Hit and run. Hide behind column and he'll reset and keep walking around obvious. Then bone blade and they're fight each other and you're good to go.

But I agree that was full of shit.

I didn't want to start a new save because I'm playing yet to finish the chalices for Platinum :(

My stats:

VIT 45
END 45
STR 50
SKL 50
BLO 25
ARC 25

Yeah that build should destroy everything in NG+. You can still go to NG++ and do those Chalices.

The new Dynamic Theme of the Hunter's Dream that just got released on the JP store is so nice

Might replace my Journey Dynamic theme if it even comes here.

Rather disappointing theme actually. Would have preferred some changing artwork over 3D render.
