About time they've put up a good BB theme. The previous two (Nightmares and City of Yharnham) are little more than a wallpaper, an embarrassment compared to stuff like the new Tearaway theme and especially M0dus stuff.

I might go for it for the music alone.

After struggling hugely with an arcane build in NG at Ludwig, went in with NG+ character and pizza cutter and absolutely destroyed him solo. One of the best feelings I've had with this game. Now I'm wondering how hard Laurence is gonna be in NG+.. Cold sweat...

Reading about the sharks in the well, I guess I got lucky because the one on the ceiling didn't join the fight until the first was one or two hits from death. I'm assuming that's not typical? Fighting both of those guys at once would be a nightmare, glad I didn't have to. :)

This happened to me too. It really has to do with how powerful YOUR character is. I did have a lot of trouble initially, but when I actually did beat them, it went just like that. I had the first one down to a couple hits.

I still can't beat OoK though. It goes so poorly. I've learned that you can get up close when its weapon is swinging because of the "fishing line" that you don't take damage from. But I'll usually get hit on the retraction or a swift follow up.

It's tough, because I fought him for like four hours and was getting way better. I can predictably reach phase two now. But when you've been playing for that long, you also start to play worse. I gave it a rest before I ate up all my consumable resources.

That's normal, the first one goes over and gets the other one when it hits half health-ish. My bone marrow ash and Evelyn+9 took care of them relatively easily. You can also parry their lunge move.

Don't worry even with those stats in NG+,
Ludwig or Laurence
may still murder you or one shot you...
Are there another
Ludwig
boos? Because while it give me some trouble (first part) I beat it in the first try with these stats... no one shot kill from him... the second part I found even easy.
Well I'm these type of guy that dodge a lot and hit heavy when open opportunities.

PS.
Living Failures
was fucking easy lol they can't even hit me most of time.

So in the
Fishing Hamlet
, I have two questions. First, there are messages near the first lamp that say a rune is around, but I can't find it anywhere.

Second, there's a particularly nasty encounter with a spear throwing guy, a skull shooting guy, and a giant shark dude. Tips?

One of the toughest spots in the DLC for me, even worse than in the well.

My strategy was running in to kill the spear guy then dodging skulls while I aggro'd the shark. Once he saw me I'd run back to the big tree, all the while dodging skulls. Then it's just a matter of fighting the shark in that area with no other distractions, which was the part I struggled with the most. Those guys are rough.

for tip 2:
run past, there is a lamp in a hut.

Then your only real battle is
Laurence
but thats most a god damn camera thing... I am still stuck on him... That fight is not fun at all

Got the collector's edition guide. The theme included is inconceivable better than the one you get from preordering Old Hunters.

Stayed relatively spoiler free on the DLC (besides knowing a few boss names) and planning on jumping in this weekend. Is there anything I should know before I start about things to do/avoid that can lock me out of content? Stuff like the Djura/Eileen quest lines? I only plan on doing one play through for now (have too much of a backlog) and I'd like to see all the new content if I can

Yup, been using it since the guide launched.

Don't kill the blob girl in the second area like I did. But well, I doubt anyone else is as dumb as me in that regard.

You're not alone brother.

Why did I kill her ? I thought this was the only way to get the key (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
And it was on this thread that someone said that I had to kill her for the key, he/she has a cat avatar, don't remember the name x)

Same here. First time through everything has to die.
Only exception for me is if it's off the beaten path and feels like a tough optional enemy, like Havel or the first Black Knight you come across in Dark Souls.

The first time I found the gatling gun hunter in the blood river in this DLC I also had to run. I wasn't going to mess with that before I even found a lamp or shortcut!

This just can't be the last DLC. :( I REALLY REALLY hope they come out with something else or Bloodborne 2 in the future after DS3. Its clearly GOTY and they have to follow it up...

That japanese guy in that video though? Smh...I cant wait to go home and finish that fight now.

I'm trying to get the Dark Beast in Lower Loran. not the most difficult boss, but his charged AoE attack is just... cheating. Even if you can see it coming, you're too late, and it takes 80% of your health. After that it's always the decision whether to roll or to heal, but either way, you'll get smacked.

If anyone wants to help in the lower loran chalice... it'd be great.
You can dodge at the last second when he does that. You can be standing under him and you're still invulnerable. Just have to get the timing down.

Yeah, that seems to work best...
Any tips for his 3rd phase? I can get phase 1&2 easily but phase 3 just wrecks me

Run to the other side of the room. Wait for him to start his lava breath attack, run to him, get a hit or two in.

Rinse, repeat.

If you have magic and or Simon's Bowblade you can snipe him from afar while he's at a reasonable distance.

is lvl 109 too low for
Ludwing
on NG+? I can get him low enough
into his 2nd phase
, but then he absolutely destroys me :'(

If you can get him into his 2nd phase then stay inside to his... left, your right... hit him until he does his AoE and that should take care of him. If you are using the Ludwig a couple of hits should stagger him.

Hmm time to level up the BowBlade...

Finally beat
Ludwig
after take a day off. Did it in one go and made it up to the next boss with next to no problems. Man, that second area was amazingly confusing at first.

So this is what I did.

And then the giant shark guy chased me, and actually killed
Simon
by attacking him through the wall.

Uh, I hope I didn't just miss out on something huge.
that spot is the end of the road for Simon. He was dead before you go there.

Finally took down Ludwig last night. I'm enjoying the
Moon Sword
.

so, whenever i invade i face two or three other guys. is there a way to invade with more folks?

That's the risk you run as far as I know. I'm not sure what happens if you summon someone and try to use the PvP bell.

lvl120 is supposed to be recommend level for the DLC on NG+ so it is not that low. How is your Vit?

I dont remember, I think it's at around 47... I think the biggest problem I have is not doing enough damage. I have the starting axe at +9 and str at like 41ish.

Well you should definitely have a +10 weapon with decent gems (+18% physical). How far in the main game are you in NG+?

Well there are two ways to take down Ludwig.

Learn his patterns which he has a ton of. Fight him over and over till you get phase one down and then repeat to learn pahse two. You can do this method with any set up.

The second way is to over level like crazy, get the best gems and use your face as a shield and swing away.

Option 2 only really works for NG and possibly NG+. After that he has several moves that will one hit kill you.

So yeah, you can totally do it at 109 but having your weapon at +10 would certainly help a bit.

When I got the dlc, I was at gascoigne and only level 95. So to level up I went to to kill blood starved beast, and then directly to Amelia. After that I got into the dlc.

How well do you know the main game bosses? Because you could sprint straight to shadows > rom > the one reborn > micolash then get a bloodrock and some gems from the nightmare. Don't bother killing normal mobs.

That would put you in a way better level and gear set up. Could do all that in a couple of hours if you know what your doing.

Ludwig is an hell of a boss, yep. But the fight is so cool.

I wonder if the chalices donjons scale on NG+ ? I'm NG+ and all my chalices are still active.

Nah he lies on the ground there anyway. Did you try talking to him? He should have some dialogue before he checks out.
