Well... the current T7 doesn't has it. I haven't seen any other arcade games here in Japan that uses that effect actually.
Hopefully it's just for the trailer.
My brain is having extreme difficulty processing the fact the Tekken and Street Fighter mythoi just got officially merged.
How... what. Wouldn't two Evil Organizarions as large as Shadaloo and the Mishima Zaibatsu have been at war? How is it that all these Most Powerful Martial Artists Who Ever Lived never met before? One group of fighters can rather commonly project ki blasts for several meters while exactly zero of Tekken's cast of 97 characters cannot? And when Fei Long does battle with one of the Laws, will the universe implode?
Gouki looks exactly the same now as he did 40-ish years ago? He's that old? Maybe he just stopped using Just For Men® Flame Red in SFIII with the whole greying temples thing.
I can't believe this is CANONICAL. So many questions need to be answered. I wonder if this was the original plan for TxSF...
Edit: I wonder what debt Gouki owes Kazumi and if she would give Sagat intense feelings of inferiority. Also, what a bitch. "Hey ultimate bad guy from other franchise, can you murder my husband and son? kthx bye"

I don't think they're really want to tie Akuma (and possibly other guest characters) into the main canon. I see it more as them trying to add a bit of flavour which I can appreciate. As much as I like having some consistency, it's still fighting games and I don't think too much of it. How many times have characters come back for various reasons after being dead or being thrown into volcanoes or whatever? But hey, what do I know. I can see your point though.
Also, I admit I dropped in and out of this thread a bunch of times and didn't read everything because it's grown so big. Are these new costumes the new standard ones or are they extras?

She's not trash tier. She has her weaknesses, but she's definitely not a "bad" character. Especially Online where it's hard to react to some of her setups in time.
She got quite a few buffs in Tekken 7 as well. Some Japanese players consider her A tier.

Ling is one of the few characters that looks as if she's aged a little. The character is super fun to play as.

PS4 Version was announced at Paris Games Week, with Playstation VR support.
I was sold when I saw the uprock. She's dope as fuck.
It's a video game. Canon is what ever they say it is.

That sounds amazing actually. It would be nice to see the full cast of characters put their rivalries aside to honor the couple for a few minutes. Then a no holds barred all out Tekken brawl.

Gouki never sold anything, he's using the extent of the hadou aka dark hadou, that's all.

Again, Ono was never at Tekken 7 World championships, so how could he say that Tekken x Street Fighter, a game he doesn't work on, is canceled?

It doesn't. The trailer stated that the PS4 version will have exclusive content or something. Which means the game itself is not exclusive.
Lucky Chloe's design is so wack, she wouldn't even fit in Melty Blood
unless she put on a maid uniform
Seriously, her design sucks even within the context of something like Idolmaster or LoveLive.

the confusing thing about that for me is, is the exclusive content VR? or is VR separate, and there will be other exclusive content for the Ps4 version?
also, i wonder why bandai namco is waiting to officially announce the xbone/other versions of the game? unless they expected people to infer it from the Ps4 announcement
Well i'm assuming XB1 isn't much of a priority, even if it is released as an afterthought along with the other SKU. That seems to be the trend for Japanese devs now.
Also, VR i'm assuming is the exclusive content...since XB1 doesn't have a VR solution just yet, they can only support PSVR right now

They could port the content to Oculus if/when there's a PC version. The press release did say "home systems" rather than "consoles" afterall...

Man, I don't consider a tiny recolor to be a proper costume update. By that metric, Hwoarang also got a costume update because they made his vest black and orange instead of brown and blue.
That's some low-level customization right there. I think these characters deserve fully new outfits as much as anyone. Law hasn't had much of a chance to wear anything but his Bruce Lee pants as his 1p throughout the entire series, with minor variations here and there. Now is the chance to stir things up.
