Yup, that’s Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon in six-inch plastic form. This photo comes shortly after the controversy about why Rey, a female Star Wars character, was missing from shelves, games and action figure sets.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Which one is the Mary-Sue action figure? I want that one.

I'm glad they're merchandising for this one. I wonder if they'll go wild with the toys like the old movie, or if this is being played more like 21 Jump Street.

Not bad looking. Looks like Neca figures for collectors. Isn't it usually the toys marketed towards kids that lack the lady figs?

People are really pushing that false #wheresrey narrative

Yea. She literally had a toy released in September that was popular as hell and hard to find for months. The other toy got held back for obvious reasons.

She also has an amazing Hot Toys figure being released this year. Yea the monopoly thing was shit, but people act like she doesn't have a toy at all.

They look really good, certainly a lot better than the recent/current figures of the original team (the toys'r'us/diamond ones I mean) now I've just got my fingers crossed that the movie will be good enough that I'll want to buy them.

Yeah, I think this is supposed to fit in with Mattel's Ghosbuster's collectors line up just judging by the articulation.

So these things are gonna probably be $25 - $30 each.

I hope kids get some cool proton packs, PKE meters, etc. as I enjoyed those greatly in my youth.

No? They seem like all-new bodies reflective of their actors' frames.

Considering how much action figures reuse the same bodies to cut costs, that's pretty big in itself.

Yeah this seems to me like the manufacturer went out of their way to make the figures more closely resemble the actors. Im not seeing the "omg they made them so skinny". They are clearly larger framed just comparing the 4 figures, they don't need to be 100% accurate.

This is awesome. I used to have so many Ghostbuster figures as a kid, and seeing these is making me so nostalgic.

Also, Hasbro, step up your game. This makes the absence of Rey, Black Widow and other female characters more ridiculous and frustrating.

Jurassic World didn't even get any human figures, let alone female ones. Plus they originally listed all the dinosaurs as male.

Hasbro put out 16-17 different female action figures in the Marvel Legends line in 2015 alone. That's a bit more then none. Show you're interesting in paying for them and I'm sure they'll keep putting out more.

Going wide, they have a shitload of merchandising partners announced for this, including a lineup of Lego sets.

Also this'll likely be rated PG-13, whereas Jump Street is a hard R.

Bring back those Ecto-Cooler Hi-Cs. That's all I want from this (lame) sequel.

I love when people ask this and I get to make their day - Coke recently renewed the Ecto Cooler trademark so it's very very likely to be returning :D

Also it's not a sequel.

The female figures were always more popular in GI JOE but look how few they did since they rebooted the line.

Its not that they don't just release female figures its that they also don't invest as much in female molds

Look at the Marvel Universe line when it was the main line,
Low female count and only 1 body mold for about half of that line's run.

Even reused headsculpts for multiple different characters.

Did they make them skinnier?
Kind of, but I don't think they did it to make them "more attractive." It seems like a side effect of limiting the number of molds in order to cut costs. All four figures share many pieces. It's just how action figures are made.

This is not unusual at all in the making of toys to be as economical as possible when considering new molds, it is not some indicator of an anti-female toy conspiracy.
