The handmade art in everything from the UI, to collectables, to a doodled web browser was sublime. It fit in so perfectly.

Shame he left, but it was ultimately for the best because East were able to hire third member - a site like Giant Bomb doesn't really work fragmented across the country like other websites. Besides, he's pretty much making the same content at Kotaku and occasionally does stuff with GB like the Dan Mario Maker war which was fantastic.
I miss his presence in sf on the bombcast/quicklooks/upf/other live shows. I'd have him back in an instant.

I really miss Patrick. Wish the gang would stick together.
I enjoyed Bombing and some of his articles. Also when he looked at games the rest of the site ignores.
Because the interaction with the others was miniscule I still get everything besides the podcast at his new place. I also didn't follow GB when he was still in SF, so had less time to grow attached.
I miss his presence, but it doesn't really feel like he's gone with how much he still interacts with the community and the similar content/features he puts up on YouTube/Kotaku.
Austin is really awesome and I feel like he carries on the spirit of the more "intellectual, deeper look into gaming" that Klepek brought to the site in his own way.
I miss him quite a bit. He really carried the site after Ryan passed. But the handwriting was on the wall after he left for Chicago. Giant Bomb is at its best when a bunch guys are in a room together, not solo streaming.

I've said my piece before so I won't harp on the guy, but Patrick always had the passion for the intellectual side of gaming without any of the chops to pull it off. In every way Austin makes me interested in alternate viewpoints and questioning my own opinions, Patrick repelled me.
I've softened significantly on Patrick since he left, mostly due to Super Mario Maker.

I really liked Patrick, his personality and taste in games gave a bit of dynamic to GB's crew.
I haven't been following what he has been doing recently, other than the Mario Maker stuff, and just noticed he is now working for Kotaku (which isn't really a site I care to visit, unless they did a total 180º recently)

With Jason and Patrick on board, it's a much better site now. But the best way to read Kotaku is though this link. It filters out (a lot of) the non-gaming stuff.
You've said what I was too cowardly to confirm. Nothing against the guy, I wish him the best in his new Youtubing enterprise.

I didn't actually know his personality too long before he left since I came to the site relatively late. I really enjoyed Scoops and the Wolf but didn't think his leaving had all that much impact. Even when I watch older stuff where he was still in with them, eh, he's there but the show was always stolen by the others.
It's hit and miss. His pieces are actually pretty good most of the time.

Yep, he's a good guy and I'm glad people enjoyed his work but I never could. There were some legit good moments in Spookin' With Scoops for a time, but even that feature got worse over time.

I think it's easy to forget how isolated Patrick was in that final year or whatever of his time at Giant Bomb, where he was carrying the site with his solo streams and articles. In a way it tainted our (or, my) collective memories of what Patrick is like, either distilling it or cutting it out entirely; rewatching Backflips 'n' Bioforge really drove this home for me.
Upon realising this, I now miss him more than I did before. For starters, I'd have loved to see him interact with Austin.

Mia. She was shipped out of Puerto Rico last week via the rescue foundation we've gone through the past 2 (now 3) times for our dogs. She's a sweetheart.
