Dream of one game localization no one else here would take as their pick

Oh you're still talking about fan translations. Since this was a localization topic, well I mean, I'd want it to actually be localized one day :/

Let's be honest. There's 0% chance of Decode ever getting an official release. That door's been closed for years. And I'd say that fan translations are the only real option we have for anything pre-Cyber Sleuth. But at least there's enough interest that fan translations are likely, unlike some other games.

This is kind of an unpopular pick cause a lot of people do not like this game compared to the main series ones.

(I know 3rd has a fan translation)

Seriously Capcom, why do you hate bringing monster hunter to the west?

I want
The Yakuza PSP games
Re-released together (HD-ized for PS4 or PC or just slightly nicer looking on the next Nintendo handheld, whatever)
And in English
These are the last fight-y games that Aki/Syn Sophia made before they went all fashion games all the time

Princess maker series and rei ayanami raising project.
I don't know why, but i like growing sims game.

428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de.
Game looks interesting.

Zettai zetsumei toshi 3
I love this series despite being jank and mediocre in almost every aspect.

Milan arubaito.
A collection of minigame while your character also need to manage her home. This game has gorgeous sprite animation

Regarding 428, it has a bonus chapter by Kinoko Nasu. :p

Mizzurna Falls

I'd love for anyone to do a fan translation of that. It was the main inspiration for SWERY when making Deadly Premonition/Red Seeds Profile. I love Human Entertainment games, they're so weird and cool.

Also would like Devil Summoner (Saturn/PSX/PSP) translating into English since it's the last Devil Summoner game not in English now and I love that era of Atlus RPGs.

Legend of Ogre Battle Gaiden: Prince of Zenobia. I can't see a Neo Geo Pocket Color game being localized anytime soon...

Looking through this topic and seeing all of these awesome looking Japanese games that will never (not even fan translated) be released into English breaks my damn heart. Oh well.

Oh fuck yeah. Absolute tragedy that was never ported to anything else or released in English. That entire series (Ogre saga) is just a masterpiece.

I need:

Zero no Kiseki
Ao no Kiseki

plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

At least that's my dream right now. I'll take them in any form too. PC, Evolution Vita, or even PSP.

I'll buy 80 UMDs.

I'll do anything.

I would kill for a version of the Infinity Trilogy I could just buy and support.

If I had to pick one, I would kill for some sort of Collector's Edition of Never7.

I need:

Zero no Kiseki
Ao no Kiseki

plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

At least that's my dream right now.

I'm with you. I don't really need 3rd, but I wouldn't say no to it either. I want to see Crossbell so bad. Hopefully Cold Steel is successful and this can happen. Never give up.

Party Pooper
I would like Zangeki no reginleiv , that game looked cool but i havent heard any impressions about it.

imported and beat it, I didn't really care for the Wii Motion+ stuff, but it's a Sandlot game through and through. damn shame it didn't get brought over.

My absolute first choice is Shin kamaitachi no Yoru(night of the true kamaitachi or banshee's last cry), it's like a serious danganronpa

But there's a lot more i would like to get, on vita and psp.

EDIT:
some gameplay.

well at least we got Banshee's Last Cry on iOS, it's a shame Aksys never followed through on the Android port though

imported and played through ZZT3, it's cool but it's jarring to play a ZZT game without rumble, that implementation is part of what made me love the series in the first place.

still very playable without any japanese knowledge as the Yakuza games tend to point you to the next objective on the map. FIGHTING SYSTEM IS SO GOOD

Earth Seeker and Boku no natsu yasumi have been mentioned already, but let me add this:

From the same team that made Contact:

125804_front.jpg

125804_back.jpg

I still imported it and it's now part of my backlog though.

Big ups to the poster who mentioned Segagaga. That would've been my pick. Since it can't be though...

I'd have to go with the Gihren's Greed games, with Gihren's Greed: The Menace of Axis V being my choice if I had to just pick one. They're large-scale turn-based strategy games where you run campaigns trying to win different Universal Century Gundam conflicts (generally the One Year War) as different factions (generally Zeon), going deep into alternate "history" scenarios depending on the choices you make.

Moryou Senki Madara 2 for Super Famicom. I remember AGTP translation group said they were progressing, but that update was in 08' and it says it's still stuck at 60%. Incredibly lush soundtrack and cool realistic-looking characters when the norm on Super Famicom was SD. Combat system was super fast and had a neat auto-battle feature. It even has weather in the the overworld that changes. I bet I'm one of the only fans of this game here lol

But yeah Music is SNES Konami at it's finest, with compositions by...

Tappi Iwase
Miki Higashino
Hirofumi Taniguchi
Aki Hata

always wanted to play these.

:O

I loved loved loved Contact!
Well... Not exactly the same team but, it definitively looks like Contact, from Wiki:

Sakura Note was developed by Audio Games and chiefly designed by Akira Ueda. Concept designer Hideo Minaba handled the game's art direction. Nobuo Uematsu and Kazushige Nojima, famous for their work on the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, fulfilled their roles as composer and scenario writer respectively. The game was produced by Kenichiro Takagi, who also worked on the Marvelous title Half-Minute Hero. Audio Games stated that if there is potential business, they would like to have the game localized for overseas markets. They even partially translated the game's text into English to appeal to early fans. However, Ignition Entertainment's Shane Bettenhausen revealed that the company passed on the game due to DS market saturation, and because the game was not Western enough.

Nayuta isn't really a Trails game, but i still want it.

And the Crossbell games have fan translations being done. Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki would also be nice. And of course 3rd, but preferably not Evo.

Ys vsd Sora is what kind of game ? RPG ? Fighting ?

I guess it`s the first time I am hearing about it.

I'm with you. I don't really need 3rd, but I wouldn't say no to it either. I want to see Crossbell so bad. Hopefully Cold Steel is successful and this can happen. Never give up.

You don`t need 3rd, but it`s highly recommended we get it before Crossbell.
It sets more than a few things for the Crossbell arc.

Tales of Phantasia...kind of.

Outside of Japan the game has come out twice. Once on the GBA (NA/EU), and once on the iOS (NA).Ignoring the fact that the iOS version has been pulled, I also hear that it's not a very good version of the game. What I would find preferable is a release of either PSP version.

That being said, I don't think most people would take this game as their pick. Ignoring mobile devices, this game has been released on SNES, PS1, GBA, and twice on the PSP. There have been fan translations for the SNES and PS1 versions of the game. Both fan translations and the official GBA translation are supposed to be able to get the job done well enough so if your goal is to experience the game then there are options. That's why most people aren't particularly interested in a localization and also why I said I'm half joking.

There was a group working on translating Tales of Phantasia X which is the second PSP port/remake but I don't remember if they finished or gave up on the project. This version supposedly retconed some story aspects to the game. The reason I want either PSP games localized is because I want to:

A) Experience the retconned story + battles where magic doesn't stop the game
OR
B) Play the game but with the enhancements all in one place, i.e. Skits, battle system enhancements, voices, and grade shop.

Man, I wish I could go for this... but man, the actual gameplay is not great for that kind of game.

You know I think I made a 3ds localization list some time ago in a thread.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D
Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3

The Tetsudou Nippon! Rosen Tabi games for me personally

Crossed out the ones no longer relevant (yay!) and bolded the new additions.

Hmmm... There are so many gundam games that it's impossible to just choose one, tbh.

This would be mine. I know there are a few people that'd want it as well, but I doubt it'd be their first choice if they could only choose one. There have been an increase of localizations, which is great, but makes great games falling through the cracks even worse for someone who's excited about that particular game

Disclaimer: the game I mentioned is getting a fan-translation, but it was dropped by the first team and the second one who picked it up is incredibly busy, which means it can take years, if at all, we'd ever get the chance to play the game.

I really really want this to make it over too. I hope the fan translation does come through in the end.

another game I finished with zero japanese knowledge, and I got the PS3 version for like 15 bucks.

just do it

I second (third?) this. I picked this up based on a Gaf suggestion a year ago and didn't regret it.

I would also suggest any of the Gundam games for PS3 that never made it over like Gundam Breaker, Target it Sight or Unicorn. I've played those in Japanese, but would've preferred a translation.

Fan translation in the works.

Also, since I feel like the OP took a shot at our team, CCC will happen in a reasonable time. We have two translators dedicated just to the project.
