Firewatch |OT| With Me

Game is great but it really runs like crap on PS4... lots of freezing from time to time and it just crashed between one day and another. Sucks that I turned autosave off and lost half an hour of progress. :p

Either way, story is quite interesting so far.

Really disappointing.

I can deal with the occasional stuttering but if crashing is going to cause me to lose progress, I'm going to have to wait for a patch. Really sucks.

Yikes....yeah I think I will just get the theme for now after reading more and more about the PS4 version. Hope they can fix some of it...

I found a bug when toggling between menus and the tab menu where the game enters a permanent blur.
Same happened to me, had to reload save for it to go away.

Is there some chug on the PS4? Yea it chugs a bit here and there but doesn't haven't affect my ability to play the game so I'm enjoying it a lot. If this was an action game I'd have more of it issue.

Still loving the game so far though.

God fucking dammit, and here I was all set to buy it and give them my money on PS4...but yet again, another console version of a game that I want that runs like crap. I'm really getting tired of this.

*rushes home from work to excitedly download Firewatch on my PS4*

*realises it's going to take 2 hours. Feels sad. Looks at official thread on GAF and reads about all these technical issues*

*feels sadder*

Mine is just constantly going left. Game is unplayable with wireless so now I get to run aaallll that stupid USB cable and see if it works. Hooray.

edit
Welp that didn't fix it. Might be to time to see how this refund process works. Not going to have time to play it after this weekend.

See my reply above on this page, make sure you update the controller and most importantly select Gamepad in the Settings Menu. Had your same issue till I did those things.

I wonder how much of an impact streaming has on sales for a short story game like this. Over 130k watching on Twitch right now with around 17k people playing on Steam.

I bought it anyway as I have been eagerly awaiting the game since it was first announced.

It's not right that they released it like this though, could have at least delayed or something...

I'm on PS4. The performance honestly isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but maybe that's because I turned off autosaving so I'm not getting bad stuttering. It's not good by any means, but not enough not to deter any of the experience for me.

All I know is it's prob going to take more than 5-6 hours if you like exploring and taking in the environment. Loving it so far.

That never occurred to me! Ill disable it to stop the random hitches :D THanks!

Finished the first two days, and I'm enjoying it so far. The visual style is nice and the dialogue is really well written. I don't think I would have enjoyed it without the dialogue, though.

A couple of stutters on my rig, but nothing to serious. Fortunately, the game is very slow paced.

Excellent so far, really engrossed. But I'd recommend not playing it off the back of COD, the frame rate really sticks out (PS4) and I've just hard crashed my PS4 loading day 33 that not even the power button works

You guys and girls are making me feel better about my Firewatch PC purchase. I really wanted on PS4 too.

Can anyone on Mac comment on performance? I've got a W3680 and a 7950 so I assume good-quality 1080p shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I notice the stuttering often though but I'm still enoying the game. Only crashed once so far, I expect that doesn't happen again. I'm going to finish the game anyway, in fact if the story is good I might play it more than once.

Damn I wish I had learned how to use a compass

This game has a really simple compass, relatively speaking: When the arrow on your compass is pointing up just like the arrow on your map, you're facing north! At that point everything to the west is to your left, everything to the east is to your right, and everything to the south is behind you.

running this game on high/ultra with a 970. Not having any issues.

Does anyone remember the name of the first book in the supply box early on?

There's already an update for the pc version. I have to go to the supply drop and just ran into a graphical issue (shadows kept flickering). Exiting and reloading, seeing if that helps.

I'm loving the mood of the game. Talking on the walkie talkie while the sun sets and the music is playing... magical.

I know a few people have asked, so I thought I'd drop in and say that this game runs pretty bad on PS4, seems to be an unlocked 60fps with lots of stuttering, and when combined with the even worse controls it doesn't feel good to play at all. There's some crazy fast camera acceleration when looking horizontally, the default sensitivity is way too low, and looking vertically feels like the character's head ways a ton. It's a shame how many developers overlook camera controls. Especially when they seem to put so much effort into everything else.

I think I'm gonna wait for the patch before I continue. For most people I'm sure the things I've stated aren't a big issue and the game is completely playable, but I thought I'd give a heads up to the people who are sensitive to shit like this.

(Auto-save was turned off)

Great game so far ,but the performance on PS4 is well, disturbing. Fingers crossed they can fix this.
It is to a level that I wonder how did they decide to release it like this.

Spend 2 hours on the game like it was 10 minutes, great writings, great chemistry with Delilah. The game is also absolutely stunning.

It goes directly in favorite games of 2016.

The pop-in sucks, yes. Even on the highest settings, it constantly draws in things ten feet in front of you.

It's happening on PC too?

I think the freezes on PS4 are on the automatic saving parts.

Did anyone found the
Old Barn (or something like that, up in the hill) and unlocked the Racoon Carter story? I wonder if the game hints at supernatural elements.
Love these dialogues and stories between the two of them.

This is currently the second most viewed game on Twitch. Only behind LoL and that's something I don't see even big name release achieve on launch day

since mods are posting in here, am i allowed to make a PSA that this runs like dog poo on PS4? i bet this saves a bunch of people money.

my $20 are gone tho. already deleted the game.

oh wow PS4 performance is.. not good.
can you get refunds on PSN?

It does in my experience, yes. A lot of pop-in in places(especially open places) Game still looks great, though.

Anyone know if the game supports Steam could saves? Thinking about installing it on my Surface just for kicks.

Just started day three and i like the game a lot. The atmosphere is very well conveyed and the game looks amazing (on PC).

It feels kinda strange to radio in every little thing I see or do though, but I keep doing it afraid to miss something important.

Games was an instant buy the first time I saw it at E3 but I became hesitant yesterday because of the reviews. That PS+ discount changed the game though, downloading now!

I had never heard of this game until today. I've been popping in and out of Lirik's stream today, but I decided to stop because I'm interested in playing this myself now. I think I saw a minor spoiler, but hopefully it's not enough to ruin it for me.

I might have to pick this up very soon.
