I also wear thinner-fit jeans (though not so tight that you can see every contour of my leg), and I easily get around the whole "getting poked with metal" issue by just putting my wallet in first, then the keys in between the wallet and the denim. As long as you don't have a billion keys like some sort of jail warden, it works fine and doesn't noticeably protrude.

I'm not left handed. Before I had a cellphone my keys were in my right pocket so I put my first phone in the left pocket and its been like that for the last 15 years.
Fair enough. Phone has always been right pocket for me since like 1996. Thats Why it seemed sacrilege to me. Haha. I guess it just whatever you're used to. Someone should make a wallet that holds keys flat in it somehow, with like an elastic string that goes through the loop so they don't get lost. Then they could chill in the back pocket all day.

People hang keys on their belt? Doesn't that make noise all the time when walking?

Front left pocket. Phone in the right. Wallet in inner coat pocket or above keys when no coat.

All you carabiner guys must be jingling keys like you're a high school janitor, huh?

I mean, I've done that temporarily when my pockets are full but it annoys me, not to mention the general public.

My keys are on a carabiner but I still carry them in my pocket.

That's why I slip my cars clicker into my pocket, keeps the keys from jingling. Considering how quietly I apparently walk, I constantly scare my roommates just by walking into the kitchen while their not looking*, perhaps I should start letting them jingle. Like a bell on a cat.

*Which in turn scares me, as I'm not expecting someone to jump/yell suddenly.

I currently have them on a carabiner that I put through my belt then hook my key ring on em. I want something a tad more professional and was wondering what you guys do?

I'm not gonna become a keys in pocket guy, and I like having them always on my person.

Any suggestions?

So you carry them around like a custodian? Please come work in our office, we would love to make fun of you.

It's kind of crazy how much you can tell about people just going by how people carry their keys.

And how they react to how people carry their keys...

Carabiner through my beltloop on my side. Because all of my punk friends did it and keys in my pocket fucking sucks.

What the hell is wrong with you? Do you put down the people who make it so you have cleared parking spots, clean walkways and the heating/cooling in the building running well? I hope the custodial staff in the building you work in takes the toilet scrubber and rubs your desk down with it, then just wipes it off with a cloth. Jesus christ, is your whole office scum?

Minimalist key chain with a car key, house key and keys to my parents' houses.

Kept in left front pocket with my wallet. iPhone in front right pocket.

Backpack/Bag > Jacket/Coat pocket > Belt > Front Pockets > Lanyard > Back Pockets

In order of preference depending on situation.

I have mine on a carabiner hooked onto one of my belt loops on my left side. At first it was really annoying, but now I like the jingling sound it makes as I walk around.

Its like one step above the lanyard guys on my campus.

Whenever I see a lanyard that's actually carried on a person (not just to keep keys together/make them more visible in the house or something), I see an accident waiting to happen.

I have a LOT of keys

fits very easily into a pocket (pants/coat), doesn't look like a mess if you want to put it on the table while in a meeting or something.

This. Love mine. Also eliminates the key jangling sounds also. And also looks so cool. Car key is attached seperate though. Can also have a bottle opener in there also.

How many keys are you carrying that you can't just put them in your pocket? I have my car key, my house key, and a tiny little key for my desk at work. Ever since getting a car with keyless entry/start it has made it even easier to fit them in my front left pocket. Especially because they never have to leave my pocket to get in the car or start it. They only come out to open my house or desk drawer.

Get a purse or messenger or sachel.

2 computers, keys, wallet, cash, snacks, docket, makeup, toiletries, controller, and games at a moment's notice? Yes please.

Pockets. I've been using KeySmart for more than a month, and it works pretty well. My car fob and gate access fob make it bulkier than it would be, but I like it overall.

I keep my keys in my pocket but I'd love a better way. When I'm quickly moving stuff around my keys keep ending up in the pocket with my phone by accident, which is no good.

EDIT: Might try one of those Keysmart things. I have a couple really big keys, but I could have those separate, I guess.

(atleast not stuff that i hold in these pockets)

Jealous of men's clothes. I wish I could keep my keys in my pockets. Or anything really. Only time I can is in winter when I wear big coats.

Always in my front pocket. At home I only use remote control for garage door, car keys are always in front pocket

I was stunned to learn from here that women's jean pockets are mostly fake/decorations. Mind was absolutely blown.

I used to hook the carabiner onto the outside of my pocket but I heard that the jingling annoys people, I put the whole thing inside my right front pocket now.

In my purse if I'm carrying one and left in the car otherwise. I can't stand anything more than my phone and ultraslim wallet in my jean pockets.
