Makes no sense though for it to fall off this bad given the PS4 momentum.
Ps4 had zero momentum in Japan though lol.

What did Bloodborne open with?
Thanks you!152,567
OT -Wait, Project Setusna is out? I heard nothing about this game.
They started giving out bloodborne like 2 months after it was released as the standard ps4 bundleMakes no sense though for it to fall off this bad given the PS4 momentum.

What I can say is that MC predicts PS4 to sell between 1.3-1.6 million this year.
There are more recent numbers for Bloodborne but it doesn't change many things. It's 10k more. The game had no legs and if you count digital sales which were also very frontloaded things are worse.

3DSus still strong. Legend.
The game is out of stock on Rakuten, but it doesn't seem it's because someone bought it, since it doesn't appear anywhere on the top. That bug gonna be the soul of the party. Not bomba (at least the first week)

It is hard to say. Obviously, everything is considered a bomb here because reasons but we would probably need Square Enix to comment on it to get a grasp of expectations, plans with the IP, etc...Seems like Setsuna will debut around 20-30k (both units). Not bad I guess...?

I'd say no. It just looks like a small title that wouldn't need big numbers.could S-E have high expectations if they barely promoted the game?
Yeah, I think there are technical issues. Slow load times, bad lag, etc...What are the comments? Why is it 2/5? The slow load times?
I am looking forward to this. ;(

I could be completely wrong though. I just don't want to firmly go with one side (bomb) or the other (success) until we understand what it is SE is doing.

I remember that the game also hard lock like twice on one of the stream lol.
Apparently it was the PS4 version that locked up.I think this game is made on Unity. It seens it's an engine that the Vita don't handle well.

Is Unity a poor engine? I've seen several issues pop up with it as of late.I think this game is made on Unity. It seens it's an engine that the Vita don't handle well.

Thanks for the info.Unity is a great engine for the game development process. It is not that great an engine for optimization especially on platforms that cannot afford the overheads. It's also a pain in the ass (impossible!!!!) to do specific memory management.
Also two versions, not sure if it was known before.Puzzle & Dragons X release date is 28th July, anime airing start date is 4th July (i'm not sure if the game release date was known before)

Ok, I know SQEX probably had low expectations and such, but 20-30k would be really awful. I mean, I'm not sure why SQEX had to open a studio for reaching otome-level sales (we discussed about that before).
Do otome games have a worthwhile market outside of Japan?
No, but they should.
What are you expectations for the game, how much do you think SQEX would have expected from Japan?
I don't really feel that any worldwide publisher today really looks at things from the "expectations in Japan" perspective anymore, outside of maybe stuff like DQ and MH which is still very Japan-centric.
You can have worldwide publishers with Japan-centric projects; Setsuna is receiving a retail release over there - while is still MIA in Western countries. SQEX surely had expectations for the game in Japan: how much in your opinion?
I don't think a retail presence in Japan represents anything, because the retail market is so vital to the Japan market in particular that it is a given for anything priced above 20 bucks. Judging from the (lack of) marketing the game has, and the tiny scope of the game, it looks to me like one of those titles which tends to sell 50k or so in Japan, tops, but sometimes if the word of mouth or fan momentum happens to really break out, it could break 100k. Like dozens of other PSP/3DS era JRPGs. It's not exactly like this is a lucrative market.
Wasn't setsuna supposed to né a new Bravely default? Or I am confusing it with something else?
Is it fair, though, to compare Setsuna to those dozens of other PSP/3DS era jRPGs? I'm asking because, as we discussed, SQEX: a. put out a label to create the game; b. has previously canned new IPs selling those tiny amounts; c. announced the game as a slightly relevant project. Therefore I thought SQEX was expecting a bit more than 50-75k units - the lack of marketing signalled perhaps lower expectations, though. Nevertheless, even niche jRPGs that succeeded in Western countries sold a substantial amount in Japan (50-60%), therefore it is still a relevant market where having good expectations might seem vital.
