So if these are two games wouldn't it deconfirmed the "Rainbow" leak earlier? Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if we do get Gen 7 this late. Black and White was also released late in the DS's lifespan and hopefully that extra year gave game freak enough time to work some of the kinks out of their engine. Shame we won't get Pokemon Z with Super Saiyan Pikachu though :(

The game never tells you any of that stuff for some reason. They don't even tell you what roles normal Pokémon are meant to play. They only way to tell at first is by looking at stats, abilities, and available moves.

I guess they don't want to overwhelm casual players with that information since they know people looking for more will just look that up online or figure it out themselves.

I'm pretty sure we'll get new Pokemon if these are the games revealed in the direct tomorrow. If these Pokemon will be just legendaries like the newly shown Magiana or another 'half' to add to the 72 new in X and Y. Who knows.

I'm not upset about their choice to stop using colours after BW2 either, but after X and Y, Sun and moon don't really 'connect' from a naming standpoint. I imagine we'll start in a new region, new characters, similar Pokemon, new evil team but we end up going into Kalos late/post game and due to something that happened in the new region Zygard awakens and it's new forms are shown.

Yeah my fear is that this will be XY2. But why would they throw away the brand power of XY? If this really isn't a totally new gen, I don't see it being a typical third version.

I would be fine if SunMoon were the GoldSilver to XY's RBG.

You are right an engine change demands a lot of work. However didnt they also changed their engine for black and white with all of the new sprite work with wonky tilting "animation". I feel like every new pokemon game always takes one step forward and some steps backs.

I am happy how they have made IV breeding more accessable, the same with battling and trading online. I might forgive them if they make this new title a bigger graphical improvement from the others outside battle and have a diverse world with a lot of secrets to explore. I liked the Sinnoh world despite the insane HM slavery. Please also make the games less brain dead with more exciting post game content.

This is what I'm thinking too. X and Y had a really low new Pokemon count and I felt like it was because of Megas. If Sun and Moon are extensions of Gen 6, then I wouldn't be surprised if they added some new Pokemon. We already know Magiana exists and it has to be a part of some generation.

I have a feeling Sun Moon will be a 0.5 version of GoldSilver to RBG. Ie, New region is italy and then move back to kalos post game.

They'll have to really surprise me during the reveal tomorrow to get me excited for a 3DS game at this point.

Eh, at least we'll get Solrock any Lunatone megas. Hopefully.

That would be cool. 70 new Pokemon, lots of mega-evolutions, new cities, a streamlined version of Kalos for the post-game, etc.

I would seriously love space Pokemon. They got to do it with Moon and Sun. I wouldn't mind getting 70 new Pokemon for Gen VI either.
