Trump will skip Monday's Fox News debate: "I think it's enough"

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
The fuck does he mean by we had enough?

I have not yet seen him talking about real policies.

The term "gotcha question" is so strange. If you say some goofy shit or your words don't line up with your actions. You should have to answer for it, if your running for the highest office in the land.

Also, didn't this work out poorly for him last time.

God forbid journalists, even shitty Fox News ones, do any kind of fact checking.

I don't necessarily disagree with your sentiment, but I personally don't think that a debate is the time for that kind of thing. The Fox News debates are just hostile interviews more than anything. It doesn't serve Trump's interests to get into it with Megyn Kelly. Plus, the answer to almost any "gotcha" question is "Yeah I used to think that but then new information came in and I changed my mind." It's useless.

So a debate between a guy no one cares about and a guy actively hated by his own party.

There is a word for this, and that word is sad.

Also frightening, because like the last time Trump decided not to show up, the actual content of that debate was insanity.

Kasich vs. Cruz would probably be the most substantive, policy driven debate the GOP has had yet.

Of course most of that policy would backwards, destructive, and regressive, but it would still be policy!

Its interesting that Trump is literally the anti-Obama. Where Obama galvanized the young, poor, and minorities to vote, Trump is galvanizing the disenfranchised racists and white nationals that haven't voted since before JFK. Add that to the number of supporter democrats, independents, and republicans that are just dumb people and its pretty scary the chances he has to win. I also feel like its strange that he knows Hillary so well and decided to run against her. What if he has even more dirt on her

I'm just imagining three hours of Cruz saying something horrifying, Kasich following with "Woah let's hold on a second" before saying the word "Ohio" a lot and then saying the same horrifying thing in a much more palatable way.

wow i feel like I just experienced the whole debate already. here let me flesh it out

Cruz, AKA "The Penguin", in his most duckiest keanu reeves serious actor face: "The ayatollah khomeini wants to destroy america. And I have vowed that on day one of my term in office, I will not only repeal and replace Obamacare (awkwardly wait for applause and then nod and continue), but I will rip up the disastrous Iran nuclear deal that Obama has put into place. We need to take seriously the threat that the ayatollah khomeini poses to America on day one. I will meet with NATO and talk about dealing with Iran, and how to deal with ISIS, and tell Putin the Eagle of Freedom has finally landed again. (wait for applause smiling desperately)

Kasich: "Whoa, hold on a second. We can't keep acting like our actions don't have repercussions! We can't just go and start a fight with Putin, we need to work with them in the future, and lead by example. As President, I'll tell Putin, "Don't mess with us, we are America.". And guess, what, I did it in Ohio."

If I were GOP leadership I would change it to an eating contest and invite him again (and Carson)

Let's just let this circus come full circle. More exposure will be great for the general!
And the only reason Trump is bowing out now, is because he has beat them at debating so many times already. He has nothing else to prove.

He hasn't defeated them in an eating contest yet though.
With something to prove, his pride won't allow him to skip it.

Nobody voting in the primary wants to hear about policy.

Its about penis size, how much you love god, how much you hate the other party, and "We need more Ronald Reagan".

He dosent need the debate, he has the media and everyone else eating out of his palm.

Republican Turnout
2004=123,000
2008=588,000
2012=252,000
2016=780,000

https://twitter.com/SRC_GOP?ref_src=twsrc^tfw

And he reports that its actually at 935,794

Which makes a mockery out of people saying he should act "respectful" like Romney, who did not excite anyone, ever. The era of the nice apolegetic, backpeddling GOP frontrunner who is on the defense is over. The age of Trump is here.

You sound proud as fuck of Trump. Are you?

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
It's gonna be so weird having a debate just between 2 people who everyone knows won't be the nominee (or president, for that matter.)

I wonder if this is going to be good now that we are pretty in this election. I'm guessing he figures people just won't tune in if he's not in there (and maybe watch his speed).

I see a lot of anti trump republicans moving to Kasich. Not sure if that's too late at this point though. I guess he'd need some massive wins.

hes probably ddoing it cause its fox and they do nothing but go against him. so he is basically sticking it to fox?

Will be really boring with mr k and lyin ted though. I actually think we have had more trump threads on the board than most combined. I didnt think he was so crazy before, but he was def just as crazy last year.

Trump to Cruz and Kasich - letthemfight.gif

Pretty smart, actually. Fox will hammer him with videos/graphs and then turn to the other candidates with questions like "Explain to us why Trump is worse than Hitler."

If Kasich gets some good jabs at Cruz, all the better for the Don.

I didn't watch the entirety of the last debate, but wasn't it less an actual debate and more the "moderator" trying to catch Trump in GOTCHA moments the whole time? As much as I dislike Trump, I'm glad he's skipping this one, because that shit was embarrassing for everyone involved.

Of course this one's probably just gonna be full of "Can you believe Trump skipped? What do YOU hate most about Trump?" questions anyway.

Trump can embarrass Cruz & Kasich; but then the focus is on Trump being a bully. Just leave them alone on stage together with enough rope to hang themselves. Trump is a mastermind.

Fox won't get him to talk about his policies in any more detail than he has in the past. Last debate had, like, 15 minutes between him and the mods on Trump University.

Ratings are going to be awful for Cruz/Kasich, which I suspect is the entire point of this.

Yep. Why should the billionaire frontrunner, who has mastered the art of free publicity in political campaigns, extend his presence and brand to give the others quality air time?

He's playing this game frighteningly well. He'll get more press from this stunt than either remaining contender will get from showing up.

It's literally impossible for Kasich to win the nomination (via delegates), even with 100% of all delegates going forward.

It's really not Donald, we have no clue on your policies still.
If a dozen debates before this haven't illuminated his policies at all, what do you think 1 more is gonna do?

"13th time's the charm!"

Trump supporters won't be watching the debate then. So I hope they keep the Trump shit talking to a necessary minimum* and really just work on talking about policy.

*some degree of shit talking is necessary because it's Donald fucking Trump.

He's winning so hard, what's the point?

lmao right

I mean I know Trump is baiting all the racist psychopaths in his corner (I personally think he is playing all of them), but the dude just gives 0 fucks.

He wasn't kidding when he said he could shoot one of his voters and they'd still vote for him.
