The original leak was decent, but not all time great. I was on #teamfake at that point.
What nudged me over the fence to leaning towards #teamreal was the second set of pics. Now THAT one is in the hall of fame of fake leaks. Very convincing.
Do we know yet whether it was the same guy, or a brilliant copycat?

Well Sony managed to win people over revealed the PS4 had features that even the NES had like trading games so I can see announcing buttons on a controller being just as effective.

Physically based renderers like V-ray are very, VERY good at rendering very convincing glossy material - meaning, reflections can be faked very easily. Reflections are not proof of anything whatsoever.

People asking about the devs saying they'd heard about no buttons:
Wii Remotes had no buttons at one point, or speakers. There was also not going to be a nunchuck attachment. But they got feedback from devs and they made changes. Entirely possible the same thing is happening here.
3D Printed. The white one also looked real and it's a render, so it would not surprised me if that one turned out to be a render too. Either way, looks like they're both fake.

What a wild ride this was. I was prepped for the worst at the beginning but as time went on I became less certain. Glad there's nothing to worry about.
The GI guy apparently hearing whispers of no buttons is concerning, but at this point we'll just have to wait and see.

Given access to a 3D printer, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be to hard to fabricate a printed model with what they have here. And "entirely seperate source" on the internet can easily mean the same guy who just made himself look like a different person through any number of means, or just co-conspirator friend who joins in on the prank. It's why I think number of anonymous sources on the internet is a completely irrelevant and worthless metric to determine if a rumor is true

Occam's razor, dude/gal. If this one was fake, and there's other pictures of something that is in terms of design identical to what now is confirmed fake, that means it's also fake.
According to the timestamps from the posts s/he scrolls through in the video, s/he's in my same timezone: GMT+1.
So he could definitely be scandinavian as we presumed. European anyway.

People arguing that the second set of pics may be legit:
I'm of the opinion that whilst neither of the photos shows an actual NX controller, the second photos are of a physical object rather than just a render. My suspicion is that a number of people were in cahoots and decided to execute a very elaborate troll.
However, if I'm wrong and the second set are also renders then (in my eyes at least) they're very convincing renders at that!

Yeah, I didn't realize using a 3D render over a photo could fool the supposed photoshop detectors that were said to be in use. But I have no idea how a photoshop detector is actually supposed to work so yeah
