Original NX Controller leak revealed fake by leaker.

What about the black one though

Given what was done for the white one, the black one wouldn't be particularly hard to do. Black one is quite possibly a 3d printed physical fake based on the same or a copycat 3D rendering. Note that the black one was never on, so all they had to do was get the right shape which isn't hard

I didn't post on those two megathreads, but that thing looked so damn fake.

Who would make a controller whose view that is obstructed by use?

Congrats Gaf.

Can I just complement this guy on his fake reveal video, I mean it's so fantastic you can't even be mad at him. It was such a perfect troll.

I need an explanation of the second leaked pics. Otherwise I'm still not satisfied.

Again, reflections can be faked. You would be surprised by how utterly realistic renders can be made now. The second photo could easily just be another rendered image.

I use Cycles (a PBR rendering engine) in my work every day, I can practically make stuff like this in my sleep. The creator of this fake could have simply taken a HDRI panoramic photograph of the location in the reflection, and used that to light a scene in Vray. The 3D model would then reflect everything in the photograph very realistically.

Here's an example.

People were so incredulous that a 3D print could be a a convincing fake.

Yep. It makes sense to 3D print it black, too, because that would help hide the layering effect that happens when you 3D print something. It would have shown up very clearly on white just like it's pretty clear on the grey control sticks of the black one. Depending on what kind of 3D printer they had access to anyway, I don't know if newer versions reduce the layering effect. And given how real the white one looked, the black one could just be a render too.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
The video only shows how he faked the first photos. The second wave of leaks looked more realistic. Were these done by another guy? Maybe even 3D-printed?

Or...

...are these photos from the second leak actually real and we are being massively meta-trolled?

It looks like ABS plastic (could be any color) that's been sanded smooth and painted black. There's still some hint of threads visible on the nubs.

I was going to post this in the other thread; resolution makes it hard to say for sure, but the top of the nubs looks like it could be a 3D printer in-fill pattern. Either that or the faker was a doofus and printed the nubs vertically

Right because the real version will have handles :)

Lotta people saying "thank god" but the free form display and no face button rumors are still pretty strong.

Here's an answer: that is also fake

Notice how it didn't appear until after the other leak - and also notice how the screen (i.e. THE MAIN THING THAT MAKES THIS UNIQUE) isn't even on.
