Discussion was a blast. Thanks for having me!

I really feel a bit bad. Living in Tokyo now, I don't speak as much English as I used to, so by the end of the podcast, it seemed like the right words weren't coming out.

Don't worry about it, I thought it was great!

Thanks, it really feels good to talk it out. Helps you make sense of it and make peace.

I can have a similar obsessive personality, so I saw a lot of myself in your description and dialogue with Alex.

It's a double edged sword. It gives you great focus, but sometimes its too much lol.

That is exactly it. It is a huge strength when it comes to work projects I am excited about. It delivers a quality and thoroughness that I would otherwise not have.

Really enjoying these updates from you and Alex about moving away from collecting. I've had similar thoughts on occasion, and am gradually downsizing. Last time I moved house, it was abundantly clear just how many of those little plastic game cases I have just don't get played at all. A bunch I have in digital form, and bought in physical 'just to have', and thinking back on it now there are a lot of games I own which I really don't need to.
Figure I might as well eBay a whole bunch of the stuff I have, someone else buying it might actually use it and not have the game sitting on a shelf or in a box like me, and it sure would be nicer to funnel some of the money i spent on retro games into something more useful.

Thanks for talking these things out in public!

I think we need to have a serious discussion about the Sega CD library on your show at some point. Been some pretty hurtful things said lately...

This is more on Greg to enlighten me. I know there are 5-6 great games on there.

Give any of these a shot to see what the system has to offer imo:

Android Assault
Popful Mail
Shining Force CD
Robo Aleste
Snatcher
Lunar 1
Lunar 2
Soulstar
Sylpheed
Flashback
The Terminator
Sonic CD
Keio Flying Squadron

Recording a holiday special episode with Mike Mika in 2-hours. Qs/topics are welcomed.

sure,

have all the extras of MM Legacy Collection been detailed and will the final retail be a patched version in anyway?

also, maybe some reflection/post_mortem on the project?

thanks!

Can't wait to listen! The industry was so much better when Nintendo was pushing the industry forward on the technology front while also making great games. We still get the games of course, but it's a shame they've been willing to disarm on the technology front.

We defiantly get into this. Hope you enjoy the episode!

Very good episode Kevin, except as usual you have me wanting to buy new hardware!

What stands out to me about Ocarina when I was a kid playing it was the pre-rendered backgrounds in a big, Nintendo game. My friend had a Playstation and I was blown away with FF7 and Resident Evil 2's pre-rendered backgrounds, so to see them in this game made me feel better about my purchase of an N64.

Totally, that was the first time I really saw the prerendered backgrounds since I didn't have a PS1. It was basically photo-realistic to my eyes.

That may have been my favorite episode of BiMP yet, Kevin. Great choice of guests to provide some background on Ocarina and the run up to its release and you really brought the fan's perspective.

On a side note, I hope you'll hold onto the Wii U this time around. Like the N64 and Gamecube before it, while the releases may be fewer in number than its competition, what's there is absolutely top notch, especially Xenoblade Chronicles X.

For sure, looking forward to Twilight Princess HD (and all of the revisionists) , XCX, and Zelda U.

I think I am going to go to XC3D first.
