How exactly can we know that? Are there instances where journalists could play on their own system? All PSVR games so far had demos running on launch hardware.
This is sensationalist nonsense.

People have been playing PSVR demos in events for a while now. The impressions are really good it seems?
So you're going to ignore hands on impressions from all across the media because an anonymous insider source said this, hahaha ok. Am I being suspicious when we've had leaks of a more powerful Xbox and now we have stories like this running?.So anybody who owns an original PS4 and buys PSVR to use it with is basically going to have a miserable experience?
This is a potential clusterfuck for Sony. Assuming all this guy says is true of course.
And that's the wrong logic.
To the contrary, there is a big difference between VR and normal gaming.
In normal gaming, you will see games being below 30fps or with crappy resolution on vanilla PS4, cause dev can do it. They did it already on XBO and even PS4, so why not.
Now in VR, it's really different. You HAVE to have something stable and comfortable or it's just unbearable for people. That means vanilla PS4 VR games will HAVE to be at least 60fps with 120fps simulated, which seems to work nicely.
Those vr games will have to run well on normal PS4, no matter how. And they will be tailor made for it. There is no choice.
This simply sounds like a reference to the state of PSVR running without the breakout box, nothing more.
We've seen the setups ffs media have had numerous access to both devs and Sony on multiple times, don't you think this would've come out by now?.How exactly can we know that? Are there instances where journalists could play on their own system?

Because they were ps4, unless Sony already had 100s of neos already made and fitted inside of the already made ps4 moulds, really really people haha.On what appeared to be launch ps4's.
Hmmm
So they are hiding PCs in ps4 boxes or super boosted neos in ps4 shells Christ on a bike people really believe anything they want to don't they.We also have seen FC3 gameplay at E3 and GDC but in the end the game looked different, because it was a demo.
Of course if I show of a new tech during a conference/convention, I would show off tech-demos or games that wont have any problem.
If I would show off an Oculus Rift on a 770, all tech-demos run well. Now try running Elite Dangerous or Adr1ft on it... Different picture.

Most of the games shown are what they are they are experiences as most current VR titles are.I am not saying that.
What I am saying is that maybe the "real" games might not run as smooth as tech-demos or will look worse than those tech-demos.
Seems weird when previews were very/positive.
This seems silly. People have been playing PSVR games for a while now with good impressions.
For saying what PSVR will run better on more powerful hardware, haha stop the presses. However Sony have mandates in place for PSVR running on ps4 so if you're game doesn't hit them targets on current hardware it won't pass cert.pats myself on the back for saying this about 10 times in different threads
Yep prefect demos just like the rob discs demo that one had no problems......wait no it shit is pants on stage because it was an early demo. People have seen demos ruining on ps4 this was sorry reporting by edge.I am not saying that.
What I am saying is that maybe the "real" games might not run as smooth as tech-demos or will look worse than those tech-demos.
Yes, Sony has mandates in place for VR software running on current machines. So the PSVR should be fine with the regular PS4, right?
Cause I have no plans on buying a new PS4 for that shit.
Most of the games shown are what they are they are experiences as most current VR titles are.
Rigs seems to be running fine and it's a game according to you. That might be the case, but its not all.
Look at PC VR games right now. ETS, Subnautica, Elite Dangerous, Adr1ft, Pollen, Luckys Tale, Project Cars, Mind: Path to Talasmus, Ethan Carter etc. These are normal games, not just experiences.
Again: What I am saying is, that while the stuff they have shown off are more like tech-demos, real games might not run as smooth on the PS4 as they will on a Neo. And I am aware that this is just my opinion, but when I see that tech-demos from the Oculus run on a 770, but games like Elite or Subnautica require a 970 at least or even a 980/980ti, I can see why a PS4 Neo might be necessary for a smooth PSVR experience.
There's no point being up other VR on PC performance is very different on consoles software, will it run smoother on neo without a doubt, however like I've said a few times now Sony has mandates in place for PSVR that have to be met, they said all this back when they showed it all off. So you won't get shit shows on standard ps4 like this so call insider says. That might be the case, but its not all.

Rigs is a full game and is also getting good reviews any response to that?Time limited demo in controlled environment. We have no idea how well it will work as full games
Hyperbole for clicks.
Yeah I didn't really think that through...
Yet something feels real off about PSVR with the way it was unveiled at GDC (low key IMO) and coming out later than thought and even the difficulties in pre-ordering.
All real odd.

Can I click on this article in Edge?
They believe what they want to, despite as you say positive feedback for months one inside source and all the things they've seen and heard out the window.Hyperbole for clicks.
Some people on here sound like they want PSVR to be shit on the current hardware. Why?
Journalists have been saying for about year that it runs good on PS4
You can buy it.
There's video interviews with marks fella and I think a separate one with shu talking about what they have set in place so people won't get sick etc while playing on current ps4. They are well aware what frame rates do to the experience of VR and have worked the whole unit around that from the screen etc too mandates.Sure.
In the end we will see how that works out. I can see how Sony doesnt want any shit experiences to be on their store, where people will get sick. Maybe they have some kind of ATW thing implemented.
The thing with VR though is "smoother" means no headache. It needs to achieve 90fps or it will make people sick. We will see in Fall how the Neo, if it exists, might fare.
My guess is that this anonymous industry insider is just someone who values graphics quality much more than they value the presence that virtual reality gives you. They are unable to accept the graphics quality hit that VR games have to have on the PS4. It'd be like a motorcycle enthusiast doing nothing but complaining about the relative lack of acceleration of sports cars, and as a result declaring them "truly awful" because of it. Until a sports car could match the acceleration of a motorcycle, to him they'd be nothing but junk.
to date, those that have used a PSVR headset have reported good performances on what appeared to be launch PS4s.

How is that many demos and stations over several years and tons of attendees using it and the recent PGW and PSX full press conference game announcement segments low key? Not to mention the more full fledged RIGS demos people were talking about playing, which is a traditionally sized game.
What difficulties? Amazon and others had that stuff up easily.
Actually Sony was at my workplace (I had the damn day off) and my buddy who is a huge gamer and had doubts about the Sony's VR was seriously blown away when he tried it. He's not someone to get excited very often and I was surprised how much he liked it. So I don't think it'll be that bad on the current console.
So....
