Thanks for the info.
I was just pissed off because i saw potential with The Order 1886 and now i see this game.

No problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a fan of The Order myself, and I'd have loved to see a sequel that built on the first game and worked towards fixing its mistakes. With that off the table however, I'd rather focus on looking to the positives of something new than getting hung up on what we're not getting.

I'm certain we haven't seen the last of RAD's AAA ambitions.

Did not expect this. Wouldn't be surprised if this a smaller project and they're also working on something bigger

This looks about a million times more entertaining and engaging than The Order to me. Colourful, fast-paced, mechanically interesting, it's giving me serious Splatoon vibes.

Of course, given their recent history I have zero expectation that RaD can actually pull something off on that sort of level, but at least it's something different.

I haven't played The Order, but not interested on this title. I wish they make GoW clone instead with decent budget. I hope that's one of their projects in preproduction. They make great GoW games on handheld. Could have make way better one on console.

While I have never played The Order, this looks a fun game. I can see it be popular as a multi-player games for parties or online. Just because it's different doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad game.

Damn, if only they were making *real* games like cinematic corridor shooters with QTEs where you could pick up and rotate objects instead.

It looks silly and fun. I'm completely down for something silly and fun. Also, how the hell is this a downgrade? They're doing something that most likely has a smaller budget that will probably sell well. I'm all for silly fun deforming balls.

(Also, Phone Game? Just because it isn't standard console/PC fare does not mean it's a phone game.)

I know you're joking and all but the problem with The Order 1886 wasn't really that it was a cinematic corridor shooter with QTE etc, but the fact that it was a boring, shallow, cinematic corridor shooter with an unfinished narrative and uninteresting characters.

Yes, given their "recent history" of one game, let's just retroactively rewrite their ability to make anything that's fun and entertaining, even when a preview clearly gives you that "serious vibe".

I don't get the sadness comments...
Assume they're really anything but sad. Probably closer to smug.

So are we done overreacting now considering they are developing 3 games and one of them is for Gamestop? Because this looks fun.

They're supposed to be working on multiple projects. If we get something akin to The Order plus something like this, I'd say that's pretty cool for a developer to occupy different spaces. But at first glance, definitely disappointing that this is the "follow-up" to The Order. Say what you will about the game, but it's graphical and atmospheric polish is an amazing nugget deserving of further mining.

From that very short trailer I can't say if it looks fun or not but it could be an interesting game. Reminded me a bit of Katamari. With that being said, I hope they make a sequel to TO1886 at one point since I enjoyed the game.

I wish they had gotten a chance at The Order sequel. They probably could have made an improvement akin to AC1 to AC2 and UC1 to UC2.

From MCV:
Deformers is an arena combat game with local sofa multiplayer.

“From the studio’s onset we used to have the best time with internal tournaments,” adds Weerasuriya.

“When we are crunching or working late, we would play games like Bomberman against each other. Over the last few years we’ve felt we have been missing things like that, and we couldn’t really find a game to attach to.”

Hahaha.

The deformers look like the kind of squishy hand toy I might receive at christmas. I like them!

I'm more likely to buy / try this that a sequel to The Order, that's for sure. I like this new direction.

The Order was a video game too.

If you're going to go down the "it's not a game" road nonsense then don't reply, I don't care to read it.
I was mostly kidding, though only a bit. Compared to 1886, this looks so much more alive and interactive. It's fluid, full of life, and better fits our standard definition of a game.

There's certainly room for games that push those boundaries, but IMO 1886 was a bridge too far. It's exciting to see that studio learn from their error, and go so sharply in the opposite direction.

At work and read the first comments about not being AAA anymore, fired up the video on my second screen looked away and then was thinking that doesn’t look bad at all… realized it was an ad for Witcher 3 DLC…

But it does look like it could be fun… glad to see they are at least not getting completely shutdown.

Me too. I love local multiplayer games and consoles could use more of them.

(Especially as Duck Game and Gangbeasts seem destined to never make it to consoles)

My sentiments exactly.
