Sadly that's optimism. The best way for these things to go is usually a clean break. He'll be at GB for a final week and that's that. I bet he does a top ten, though.

What Austin brought to Giant Bomb this past year was extraordinary. He created this "spark" with whoever he talked that always reminded me of Ryan. Those two duders have that magic touch that makes the other people in the room put the best versions of themselves.

Real sad to see him go, he fit in so well with the group and brought a lot of new perspective and thoughts. Wish the best for him in his future endeavors but man, bittersweet moment. Must have been tough for all of GB for a period of time once they knew he was going to be leaving - can't imagine it was a short notice deal.

Austin is a guy who, in regards to his personal podcast, seemed really bummed that he hadn't been great at using nonbinary pronouns for a fictional race of space beings. Something vulgar like this just isn't his style.
I see the appeal, but I think Austin deserves better.
Because of this thing we like to watch and talk about.
