BBC quoting Le Pen as saying 'Brexit like the fall of the Berlin wall'.

To say these arrogant populists rile me up is a little bit of an understatement.
How can somebody say something so stupid. One event is uniting two countries and the other is breaking it into three pieces.

lol This lady on sky news is saying it takes years when doing trade deals within the EU, but country to country is much faster. Could be done in six months. Holy shit that is Republican levels of delusion. Thought that sort of delusional thinking was contained within the US. God speed UK gaf.

We got it all. All of it, with a different accent. The same gutter trash level shit show.

We don't like no book learnin'.
We don't like no darkies.
We don't go no control of our borders, need a wall.

Are we still going with politicians saying we are leaving the EU wink wink not really, just wait this out then ignore the vote, nothing changes?

It's so tough to stay positive.

The leave voters willingly (& often willfully ignorantly) voted in a way that fucks up the lives of potentially hundreds of thousands or even millions of lives across Europe (themselves included) when/if the dominoes start falling. They deserve every fucking bit of ridicule they get for being the kind of ignorant, closeminded dickwads that they are. They had the choice to educate themselves about facts, about how EU isn't as evil as it's made out to be & how most of your problems stem from selfish rich fucks in UK being in power for so long, and about the likely outcomes (i.e. no, your healthcare would not be getting 350 million pounds per week, no, freedom of movement won't be limited all that much or foreign people deported). They had people pointing out the lies of the pro-Brexit side. And yet they still voted in the most idiotic, xenophobic way because they are such dumb fucks.

Foreigners & people with foreign origins cannot choose what or who they are while anyone & everyone had every chance to educate themselves about their choice in this vote, so crying about the ridiculed rightwing morons gets no sympathy.

So much hyperbole and doom-mongering in this post, I cannot see anyone taking it seriously.

Tell me what do you say to people who immigrated here and still voted leave, lets make them non-white as well. Because I know some people who fit that description and voted leave. Are they racist towards themselves, or you gonna admit there are plenty of good reasons to vote leave? Around a third of BAME voters (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicity) voted leave.

Some are still going to attempt to try and negotiate single market + fin.passport without 4 freedoms because they are fearful about their own seats.

Most realise that isn't going to happen. The maneuvering is all about avoiding this catastrophe.

Angry twitter post cites petrol bombs and a dead 16 year old as a result of this referendum. Any actual facts behind this? Can't find shit on the news.

Farage on CNN. I think the interviewer is ready to punch Farage in the face.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYOqSW7VAsk

Lol @ the ending...
"- I am too soft, too kind and too easy...
- There are many words I would choose to describe you sir, none of those would come within that category !"

To think that MEP had to suffer Farage for 17 years... That's probably the only positive thing they're seeing in the current situation, soon being able to get rid of him.

IIRC she said something along the lines of this being the biggest event in Europe since the fall of the wall.

Well that's probably right. From what we can imagine, there will be a whole chapter about Brexit in history books...

Probably because they are suppose to be ignoring the UK until article 50 is triggered. If they start talking with Scotland I'm sure London will have a hissy fit.

Either way I believe Sturgeon will find a way.

Scotland will take a long time anyway. First you have to get the referendum, then you have to win the referendum, negotiate how to leave the UK, think about how you stay afloat for some time, negotiate with the EU, hope that everyone's ok with you getting into the EU.

Schulz talking with her at this stage is a strong signal and a huge deal already, but I understand why Tusk said no.

Is cameron stalling so that country is in such chaos . Well not just the UK

By taking our economy down and Europeans too? And the world .

While no one is ruling us we are slipping into anarchy, racist cunts are thinking they can rule this . The police will crack down I know.

Is this the plan let it go to hell so that we gladly accept the EU?

This a clusterfuck.

Grow some balls cameron , fess up .

Say the vote while is only won just is not legal we cannot trigger article 50.

That we are not ready to leave have come to the EU to stop this mess.

Cameron has humilted himself. We are less arrogant .

I keep hearing consequences. Cameron needs to face his . We already hate him now. If he wants any face saved do the decent thing .

Shit we are going from being in a shitty position from laughing stock to asshole's. Can't the PM call for a no confidence in leavinf and quash this ?

Yep, it took Norway literally a whole generation to make those trade deals with the EU.

By the time the trade deals between UK and EU are done I'll be enjoying playing on my PS6.

Now, some more thought about the German car industry. The UK is indeed an important market, especially for the premium car makers. Especially BMW and VW w/ AUDI are heavily invested in UK, and yes, they will put pressure on both (!) governments to make a trade deal as soon as possible. BUT. UK will still have to ensure freedom of movement and trade for each member of the EU to get any kind of trade deal in the first place. There are no shortcuts here and everyone who thinks otherwise is still in denial.

Heading to Brussels tomorrow for initial meetings incl @Europarl_EN President & @GuyVerhofstadt, one of the @Europarl_EN Brexit negotiators

Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron earlier addressed a crowd in Trafalgar Square insisting that the Brexit vote "is reversible".

The best part about the United States of Europe argument is that the suggestion is that the EU will rapidly merge into a hugely powerful and influential megastate and therefore the best place to be is on the OUTSIDE of that megastate, literally floating off the coast and heavily dependent on it for things like food.

I feel like there are a few steps missing there. Even in the worst case scenario, wouldn't it be better to be a charter member of the evil empire?
It's also (marginally) more likely to happen if we leave :)

Since article 50 has to be called, we have to screw ourselves first to even negotiate. I don't want it to even get to that point because we will just end up out of the EU with a worse deal with all the same requirements leave side supposedly hate. Why would they be that stupid, that's why it is hard to listen to them talk like it will happen. What is the point when we have it good now?

It's perfectly possible for people of color to be racist. That is actually one of the primary ways societal racism operates, by changing your personal thought processes and opinions to prefer people different from yourself and accept arguments that attack and diminish you personally.

Realistically, I am aware this will never happen. However, I hope the European leaders remember there is 48% of us who voted to remain and identify as Europeans. If things are to collapse, I would hope we would be welcomed.

Instead of removing English as the official language of the EU, they should just make it "American English" and have a laugh. Everyone already sorta knows English, anyway, and it'd be absolutely hilarious, while not discounting the fact that the US is more relevant to the EU than the UK ever will be, again.

Not being white doesn't exclude you from ignorance or xenophobia. I want a list of these reasons that doesn't include lies told by the leave campaign.

Seems too expensive. What would they do with all the excess Us from all the signs?

No, the UK is still in the EU and same rules apply as before. Until the negotiations have ended with the EU regarding the exit, this won't change. UK still has influence, still can vote in the council, still has MEP's in the parliament etc. etc.

EEA countries don't have any of that.

If the same rules still apply then why has David Cameron been frozen out of a meeting of EU leaders? We are effectively non-functioning members.

The EU has given us the boot even before we do it formally.

Didn't Renzi say earlier you were all welcome to become Italian ?
Then again, he also made a football joke about Spain which led to a furious stare from Merkel.

Cameron has no power ATM. I think it's a stalling tatic on art51.

The best thing he should of done was to null the ref and then resign.

Watching Ch4 news and there was a massive pro-EU demrostration at Westminster :) I just hope the EU members are watching this and seeing that the nation is divided and we are not happy.

Yeah that's it, a third a BAME people hate themselves.

Great point to have level headed discussion at.

1. In the United States, some 5% of AA voters vote GOP, despite the fact that it is racist enabling to it's core. The motivation is "fuck you, got mine". QED.
2. In the United States some 25% of Latino's voted for Romney and/or GOP despite the fact their policy was to deport "illegals". The motivation is "fuck you, got mine."/ Dems = Red Scare (Cubans) / Religion.

If you think you voting leave as a non-white immigrant means you will get favourable or higher quota's for entry

1. You must be delusional.
2. You must be delusional.

Finally. There are zero good reasons to vote leave. Zero. This country is wholly dependent on the European Union as a services economy. The reasons why this is the case are being born out every day for the past few days. Access to single market is contingent on four freedoms. To top that all off this country had more exceptions and extra opt-outs than any other member, that our membership opted us out of any further integration and Eurozone.

The Sterling fell two whole sigma's greater than any other point in modern history. It was worse than Black Monday, Black Wednesday and Lehman.

The best deal we will now have, if we do try and "leave", will be to accept all of the EU's rules, no opt-outs and no vetos. In this scenario, you really do have no sovereignty, you lost all of it. Well done. The reason we will do it is to protect the financial services sector in this country because without it we would be bankrupted.

Ah, thanks. So to get this straight for myself:

Martin Shulz (President of the European Parliament) is meeting Sturgeon tomorrow.
Jean-Claude Juncker (President of the European Commission) has agreed to speak to her but no date.
Donald Tusk (President of the European Council) has refused to speak at all.

sorry but what exactly are the differences between the commission, parliament and council?

Actually, my grandfather is Italian so in theory it's possible. However, I only have a British passport as my dad never declared it.

No idea on what the process would be to amend this. I know very little about my grandfather, and do not have any documentation. Either way, I can imagine it being costly.

Maybe he is waiting for the UK to go tits up over the next few weeks then as his last official act, makes the referendum result void and walks away a hero, albeit an idiot for putting us in this position. I would be very happy with that.

A 16 year old Polish girl living here killed herself in the wake of it and somehow it's been cited (perhaps via a note, or text messages, or something else) that she did it because she was being bullied at school because of her nationality, and it worsened in the Brexit aftermath. I'm amazed it hasn't been a bigger story really, since it's heartbreaking, but there's a hell of a lot going on.
