Gameblog.fr: PS4 Neo to be announced on September 7 in New York

I have a hard time to believe that consider his track record :")

I talked to him when that happened. He was upset that his video was taken that way. He clearly had no idea that it would lead to this.

If I remember correctly, he was talking about Zelda Wii U, which he had just played before almost everybody else, in that video.

Aren't you a little biased since you work there? There's no problem in defending Gameblog for what you sometimes do right but maybe you need to take a step back from that kind of threads.
Facts are facts, doesn't matter if he works there or not.

Hope this is true

PLEASE release before FFXV on September 30, so I can just buy a Neo instead of getting the OG one now and then having to resell it a few weeks later :/ Even if all points to FFXV not having a sophisticated Neo patch it'd still benefit enough from a basic boost. As someone who has no PS4 yet it'd make no sense not to get the Neo now, but I won't wait even a month to play FFXV, that's for sure.

So, what do you think is the chance of it releasing before September 30?

I hope it's true! And you people need to chill, it might be wrong, it might be true. They might have been wrong in the past. It feels like a personal crusade. :lol

I gotta ask this (I'm not trolling seriously curious)

What reasons are people getting this console?
I understand the people getting it for 4k multimedia stuff but for gaming isn't this kinda pointless unless we know how much of a performance boost each game is getting? Also if any older games are gonna get a boost as well (like if bloodborne is 60 fps in NEO mode which would make it a must buy for me XD)

I seriously need more info on this thing

Little to none.

Good timing, if true.

The closer we get to an announcement the more I feel that I'm likely to cancel my PSVR pre-order and go for a Neo instead.

I like new things. Games will run a little better and I'll buy a 4K TV in a few months or so.

People that play exclusively on consoles and/or people that want the best experience out of the console exclusives.

Better performing games...simple as that.

Any older games get patches if the developer chooses to do it. I would expect certain PS4 exclusives like Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 to be at the top of that list with gameplay at the reveal.

I laughed when Statham said ROTR might be a game to feature for Neo, but I could possibly see that happening now at least on SE's part.

How you gonna come in here to defend your website as reputable when there's pokemon go clickbait trash all over the homepage

Get a grip.

And a thicker skin, you're a journalist, a gaming journalist at that.

Edit: just read all of your posts. Your attitude is disgraceful for someone representing their employer online. You need some social media training and most of all some manners.

Exciting.... I definitely can't afford a PSVR this year but an upgrade of my PS4... for hopefully a reasonable sum on top of my trade in... I want this so much.

I hope Sony have persuaded some big name devs to brush up older games. Imagine if they showed off a 60fps Bloodborne with higher visual fidelity (super AA).. just imagine it!

I want that and I want Rocket League fully V synced locked at 60 with better visuals as well. That'd be all I'd need.

Ahh alright fair enough
Just curious really since I have a ps4 as well as a gaming PC and was trying to justify the cost if I ended up grabbing it :p

So sites can have scoops but when Gameblog has one, it's just a lucky case of a clock being right twice a day.

That's not the issue. I'm sure Gameblog has real insider informations and can break scoops once in a while. I'm sure they did in the past, and I'm sure they will again. Hell, I'm even pretty sure this NY Neo thing is the real deal.

The problem is that this real journalist work and those real scoops are drowned in the bullshit Gameblog has published over the years. That makes it unrealiable, and as a reader, that shit doesn't fly. I don't want to decide if an article as good sources or not. I do that on forums, twitter and reddit. Website with professional working on it should do that work, and filter the things they publish. I want to be able to go to a website, read a scoop and believe it right there. With Gameblog, it's the other way around, I tell myself "ho shit they were right" after the fact. And that's only because they're wrong soooo often.

Then again, you're right, they do mention the source. And when they're wrong, it's often because the source is some bullshit unknown Twitter account or some shit. But then don't post that crap! This is some clickbait shit that has no place on a professional website! "Hey RDR2 will be at E3!!..." ho shit great, let's click!! "...according to some guy on reddit!" GODAMNIT! You made me click, congrats, now I hate you.

You absolutely can come back from a shitty reputation. Kotaku did it in my opinion. But you do it with some incredibly serious hard wok and discipline. You check your sources. You don't make clickbait articles. You don't make the reader do the hard work (check the source). You stop hosting and promoting bullshit clickbait blogs written by ten year olds. You prove you're reliable with hard work, not with some list cherrypicking the few times you were mostly right, and you never EVER come to forums like NeoGAF to justify yourself. Let your work do the talking. Be professional.

Gameblog can be great. It's not right now, and the real hard work of some serious writers is drowned in all that crap that might as well be printed on toilet paper.

I figured this is how they would do it. I hope there are substantial upgrades even for those of us who do not yet own 4k tv's.

It's a good post but they just don't care Nugg. We're talking about a website where the chief editor is reviewing games AND also work for some video game editors/dev @ live events.

I'm going to disagree. Sony has been pretty consistent in saying that they believe the Apple style announcement has been embraced by the consumer electronics market. Expect this to launch very shortly after its official unveiling.

October at the earliest is my prediction. A month is still a very short time from reveal to release.

Pretty sure kotaku still has clickbaity & reposting stuff along with the great work by Schrier et al. That's the best we can hope for now: sites with clickbait stuff + reposting stuff to pay the bills, that also produce quality work.

IMO, PS4K will launch in November. It wouldn't be wise of them to release it before or the same month as PSVR.

I figured this is how they would do it. I hope there are substantial upgrades even for those of us who do not yet own 4k tv's.

Yep, there was talk in the leaked specs of them considering improving the chip that records the video clips, I would love to see higher bitrate 1080p gameplay recording and streaming in the PS4K, and hopefully at 60fps... would be a real improvement. The current 720p 30fps is such a low bitrate it tends to be a blocky blurry mess half the time. The share function has been a huge boon to the PS4 and if anything is going to get improved with this new console that is something that needs looked at!

Don't see why they can't improve the controller as well, it wont have new functionality but improvements to the ergonomics and build quality are much needed. Saying that I have the anniversary controller and it fixed the main issues with the launch ones, but it could be a bit comfier to hold.

PlayStation Fork All Early Adopters

Lol it's been 3 years, there's been 2/3 iPhones out in the same space of time :p I know you're just joking but for those who aren't.

If anything what they're doing is NOT screwing over early adopters. All games will still work on your current console. This mid gen upgrade idea is becoming more and more enticing to me. A pretty significant improvement in visuals for all new games coming out and hopefully some old favs too allowing me the fun of going back to revisit them, plus new console excitement but not having to start from scratch on my library.

Edit: As for naming, I can easily see Sony following the established trend of the 'S' branding. Denoting it's an improved version but not a wholly new thing. PS4-S It works best for the consumer in understanding what this does. PS4K is incredibly clever and obvious, and the console probably will natively upscale games better for 4K tv's than if you sent a 1080p signal to a 4K tv to upscale itself... but it could be disingenuous when people realise most games won't be running at 4K, and it might be a more complicated sell to tell people that media functions are 4K but not most games.

Was about to give him an answer but yours is perfect. Thanks.

Why this thread has become a "let's sh*t on Gameblog.fr" fiesta?
Seriously this seems legit and even if not I don't see no reason to act like that.
Also their claim that Sony may have advanced the presentation a little just to be sure to have some decent space before NX reveal (rumored to be during Sept. 12nd week) is something logical.

MS put Sony in a less comfortable position with the Slim (pushed as a UHD/4K system) and even if Scorpio is far from now the hardcore audience that wold be interested in PS4K so they could have an even better performing system may wait to see the improvements before pulling the trigger since Scorpio is far but not that far (one year away only).
I'm here

And for casuals or people who are looking for the better compromise NX may still the show.
I'm not here... I'll buy NX anyway.

September will be interesting that's for sure :)

All I hope for is that Neo is a decent enough bump over vanilla PS4.

I'd rather invest my cash into a new system that plays games better than get PSVR this year for example.
