FCC wireless chip filing makes me think Sony will announce new Vita hardware

Since people are a bit loss:
-Trinity was a joke of sorts added by the OP
-Certification is for a WLAN chip, like the one on the PS4

What you missed is that the source called out 2 chips

Unless Neo uses both than there is more than one product they are certifying chips for

Doesnt NECESSARILY mean it will be another Vita

Thats the speculation part

Maybe both. Or nothing.

If don't have cartridge slot a lot of hardcore Vita players will be disappointed. Vita cartridges is kind of fetish/future proof.

Didn't missed it. Was just pointing out that there's nothing about a Vita or Trinity, which is what some people are replying to (the title).

You can play every PS4 game on-the-go on the PSVT and if you dock it into the PS4 Neo it boosts it to 2xScorpio levels in console-mode.

It would be pretty sweet if Sony released a Vita on the same architecture as the PS4 and NEO. As in, with intercompatibility.

Portable Bloodborne. Imagine.
Portable 5FPS Bloodborne.

A NEW GENERATION PS VITA IS INCOMING?!?!?!?!

Damn....this is much more exciting than the PS4 Neo to me :). But not holding my breath on this until its officially announced; I really doubt Sony wants to make another handheld in the future and this could be a leaked prototype for a Vita 3000 they never bothered to greenlight.

But I like surprises so lets see what happens next month :).

ADD New Gen Gamer
The only way I'd ever jump onto a Vita revision if it's a phone that supports Android

Call it Xperia PS
720p screen
Great camera
5 inch screen
Large battery life
Slide out buttons similar to Xperia Play
Vita games compatible
PSP games compatible
PS1 games compatible
Full android OS
Google Play Store

That is completely undesirable.

Woah. Seriously!? Also, bless that name. But damn, this is unexpected. Hopefully it's true! I recently decided that I wanted a VITA when I realized that it could play old PSP games, but if this can breed new life into it, so to speak, then I'd be even happier with that decision.

I actually kind of doubt that it would, but still, maybe.

Yoshida said the market is not good for handhelds. I wouldn't get excited about a brand new anything from Sony in the portable space.

It does seem rather stupid for them not to do something unique with their tablets smartphone lines though. Maybe they are just trying to grow the PS brand more first.

Neo or Vita revision related is my guess

Shu saying that is the one thing that makes say this is a pipe dream. Sony does some weird things, but Shu is so candid that if he's saying the market's not suitable then I highly doubt this is a new handheld.

Ah well, maybe one day.

They still make good money in the homeland with portables

Its not PSP numbers but maybe they are regrowing this side of the business from scratch

So, what's the conclusion? Is Sony revealing some new WiFi chips at the Playstation Meeting?

The filings are probably for the wireless chip in the PS4 Neo and a the PS4 Slim.

There is nothing about the filing numbers that points to a PS Vita revision.

It will cost 600 dollars, look and feel like a brick. There is no chance a vita phone will work out well.

Lol we have no idea what a modern gamephone would look like and Xperia Play was amazing for what it was and its ancient by todays standards

Now that chips have shrunk even further I could totally see an even slicker and more powerful device being created.

The slim itself is still just a rumor

All we can say for sure is there is a SECOND SIC product they are certifying a Wifi chip for
