Thanks! I went to Japan back in May, but I was really rushed with wife and toddler, that I didn't really have enough time to buy anything, had about two hours by myself in Den Den town to scour the used game shops and they didn't have anything reasonable.

It was $119 at Play-asia + $29 shipping to where I am for anyone else looking to pick one up.

I bought it primarily to get fighters on Steam, but its still missing some fairly significant series like Tekken, Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter, parts of the Street Fighter series etc.

Ok so maybe you guys can help me with this.
I have a PS3 Madcatz TE Pro stick and I would like to swap the buttons for those indented jancky and loose buttons like you see on old arcade cabinets. Is that possible? Can I just buy the ones people use to build arcades or would I need to do buy or adjust something?

What are the main differences between the Myoungshin Fanta sticks and the Crown sticks?
Fanta sticks have better diagonals but are also larger sticks and don't fit well into a lot of cases. Focus Attack sells a kit to put Fanta switches on a Crown though.

Those are HAPP buttons and wouldn't fit in the case. I'm pretty sure there's an alternative, but I can't think of what they're called and my google-fu has failed me.

Ah, okay. Next time I feel like changing one of my sticks, I'll get a crown and see if I can handle stock mircoswwitches. And order the upgrade kit later. I don't know if I can ever go back to a square gate, the circle gate just feels more comfortable.

Picked up a VSHG from a fellow gaffer. I've kind of wanted one over the years and so I jumped in. Pics do not do these sticks justice.

I want to replace the PCB with a brooks universal PCB...but it feels wrong to mess with this stick like that D:

The last big purchase I'm going to make for a while related to my arcade sticks.

I picked up the Bison Transporter at EVO, but Eightarc was selling the Guardian for $59.99 (still active) and decided to pick it up. The pics were of a gray backpack and had no options but they sent me the brown one? lol. I still like it.

What do you think of the transporter in comparison to the Guardian? Do you prefer one over the other?

I think I prefer the Guardian overall. The Bison Transporter XL was designed for large sticks like the Hori vewlix, so it's overkill for smaller sticks. Trying to carry the Transporter XL around in Vegas, I was constantly hitting stuff.

I think I realized why the Guardian was cheaper though, I saw a review in 2012 that it had a separate sleeve that you could put your fightstick in and had extra room for other stuff, but I didn't see that sleeve in my order. Guess they took it out to lower costs. still, it just feels like a really high quality backpack, and it has a bunch of extra smaller pockets for my water bottle and other things. I might just use it as my everyday backpack, lol.

Edit: The Guardian is missing a special placement for the joystick shaft, but I don't think it's an issue. As long as you make sure you place the joystick face up, the backpack shouldn't damage the stick in any way.

In theory, could I fit my PS4 in that in addition to my TE2?

I think this is why I just use a backpack that fits my TE2 and PS4. Granted the top of my PS4 is all scratched up from the stick sitting on top of it but I dont really give a fuck about that

I'm looking to mod my VSHG again, I stuck a 360 controller board in there years ago, but now I want to change it work on PS4 and Xbox One/PC. Anything you guys can recommend me? I'm probably gonna swap out the built in cable for a micro usb slot as well.

Seriously? One nice small board that does everything and doesnt even need a toggle switch or anything? What kind of sorcery is this!! haha

Thank you very much.

The only caveat is that updates break compatibility on PS4, but so far the company has updated the firmware in the board within like 48 hours to get it working again.

Small price to pay!

Most of my fighting games are on PC now if I can help it, and Xbox since it has some backwards compatible, KOF 14 will probably be my only PS4 fighter, and I will get that on PC when it drops anyway.

I seriously cant believe such an awesome board exists. haha. Thanks again!

My beautiful VSHG lives on!
Now gimme VF6 ...or at least BC VF5FS

Found one of these at goodwill.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet because I don't actually have any PS1 fighting games, but hey I have it now.

They closed their webstore and only sell on Amazon now. Though most of their parts are currently out of stock. They randomly come back in stock (very low numbers), so you just have to check every day :/. I was able to get blue side panels and a black bezel this way.

I've been checking for months and even set up an alert. MadCatz could have made some money before evo and during the Capcom cup selling bezels and panels.

I wish someone had a 3D printer and looking to make some money. I need a black bezel and panels.

I have a question about wiring for making a Hitbox with a PS360+ board.

Well actually, first off, is there a wiring diagram for the PS360+, because I've tried searching for one but I can't find it.

I'm trying to figure out if I need to daisy chain the up down left and right along with all of the P1-4/K1-4/Start/Select buttons, or if those need to go to a separate ground.

If it's common ground (I believe it is, but you can check the resistance between the ground terminals with a multimeter if you wish to be certain,) then it doesn't matter how you wire it, so long as everything that needs a ground connection gets one. I assume that the reason for there being 3 ground terminals is for convenience when wiring so that you can have separate daisy chains for the grounds on the joystick, face buttons, and start/select/guide buttons.

Yeah, I figured as much, thanks for clarifying.

So I got a new spring for one of my joysticks and I lost the little clip that holds everything together on the bottom. Can I just buy those at a hardware store, and if so, what are they called? Are they all the same size?

Thanks

Sanwa JLF uses an e clip. They come in different diameters.

So a friend asked me about getting a fight stick cause I'm the only one he knows who owns one, but there's a lot of new sticks since I last checked back when there weren't as many options for current gen.

His budget is in the 100-200 range and he only needs PS4/PC, and he says PS3 would be a big plus. He wants it for fighting and rhythm games which means the stick needs to be mappable to the d-pad with a switch or something (I know my stick can do this, but I'm not sure how common it is). Previously I would have recommended a TE2 but they seem to be slightly outside his budget now. I own a RAP.V Hayabusa, which I would recommend but he doesn't like the kuro buttons and he doesn't want to do any modding (not sure how hayabusa buttons compare to the old kuro's). So are there any mid-priced sticks that come with sanwa (or otherwise good quality) parts or do I have to tell him to compromise?
