Anyone know if the ultimate edition will be available in retail form? The stores in my country only seem to be taking pre-orders for standard editions (btw I don't care about the play 3 days earlier deal, only interested in all the starting content in one bundle).

In the UK only GAME has the physical UE. Had to pre-order from there.

If you have the game preordered on either PC or Xbox, it'll show up in "My Library" on the Windows Store. You can just click the download button from there which will give you a placeholder. If there's a pre-load for the game, that placeholder will automatically update to the preload once it's released.

I believe 80070005 can happen if you're using Windows Compression on your secondary hard disk.

What do you see if you right-click on the hard drive from Explorer, click Properties, and look at the check box second-from bottom? Is "Compress this drive to save disk space" checked?

Hey I know you're trying to give people a hand that are having issues with the Windows Store preorder, so I was going to see if you could help me out as well. I'm having the same issue where if I try to install the game on a secondary hard drive, I get the 0x80073CF9 error code. The Recore preload thing installed just fine on that drive though.

Revisiting FH2. I have fallen in love with the Audi Quattro on Storm Island. At peak S1 it's pretty much the perfect goddamned car.

Tell me we get one in 3.

We get two of them in 3. We get the Sport Quattro from Horizon 2 and the Quattro S1 which is the full-fledged rally + pikes peak car.

So who's hyped for the intro of the game?

Remember the forza horizon 2 one? That was fantastic. I was like "this is a masterpiece" just by seeing that.

Yeah that was great, love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1cHm9NjIe0

I also loved this one from Forza Motorsport 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcQu73d3Z2E

I found 4's intro weirdly sour, honestly. "Oh we're such victims, other people worry about the environment and are taking our cars away!" I understand what it's building up to, but it's so overwhelmingly negative. Not the best way to start things.

Horizon 2 could be a little overly precious, maybe, but it totally worked on me anyway. Love it.

Sorry if this isn't the thread, but I'm playing Horizon 1 and I just bought the Season Pass for it. How do I download the content? Can't find anywhere that doesn't charge me for the single purchases lol

hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before. Will I be able to purchase PC game codes similar to Quantum Break or should I just get the game on PC? I believe the new play anywhere feature is tied to accounts and there will be no keys? cheers.

I believe the Horizon 1 servers are either getting hammered, or practically non-existent now. So it's causing some problems with that stuff. I bought the Season Pass just to play the Rally Expansion cuz I never got around to it, but it won't let me access that or the 1000 Club thing now :(. Hoping they get it fixed soon.

I have the same issues. Bought the Season Pass since I never played the Rally Expansion when I had it on the 360, but it either won't connect to the Horizon servers or won't download the Marketplace Data if it does get through.

FH1 is still a fun game though, so I'm glad to have it on the One via BC.

Well, it is Clarkson

I liked the ad better than the intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRooH_5MPEE

Also the FH2 live ad was awesome as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MNs7mCvTBI

Are we getting one for 3?

That ad version is better, yeah. Still a little too "woe is me" but it contextualizes things in a better way, the idea of being trapped in a world with no room for wild journeys more than some conservative reactionism. Kind of strange it ends with the protagonist under arrest, and not in a funny way either.

That FH2 ad is great. A surprisingly fair representation of the actual game, too!

Been playing lots of FH2, FH1, and F6 the last few days to prep up. Really loving FH2, the beautiful Italian seaside vistas as you race through cliff sides is just so beautiful, can't wait to see how it looks on my PC.

FH1 is still pretty wonky, it took 48 hours after I bought the season pass for it to register Rally as purchased and downloadable, and even still most online stuff isn't working at all including the stars per car thing. Also makes me appreciate FH2 so much more, while FH1 is great you definitely notice the downgrade in visuals, the "tires stick to roads more" feel of the game, and the long load times in between simple things which is all gone in FH2. Hope we see an even bigger jump in next gen in FH3, especially since its not running on 360 anymore.

Probably everyone here already knows it but track your tier level on forza rewards, if you are close to a jump in tiers it might be worth grinding out a few cars or achievements so you get a little extra oomph in FH3.

Playing the games also makes me realize I am 100% a horizon kinda guy, I get bored silly playing the F5/F6 circuit games but love the open road system of horizon. From now on I'll be pre-ordering the horizons and waiting for 50% sales on the regular series.

So is this confimed somewhere? Seems really strange they would remove that, I always enjoyed driving to the next location in a group like that...

I believe they said there's some sort of new optional mechanic that's similar, a convoy mode or something, but for story progression it's gone. (Well I assume there's a couple exceptions, like the opening 'race', but not as a main thing.)

Road trips could be fun at times, but they got monotonous fast ("Shut up about this not being a race, radio jerk! I heard you the last fifteen times!") and they really hurt the overall structure of the game. In Horizon 1 you have access to all the races you've unlocked, at all times. In Horizon 2 you only get a handful available at any one moment, and while you can change them to some degree that's both time-consuming and still fairly limited.

The idea was probably to give the game a more consistent flow, but in practice it was absurdly restrictive and if anything took away from the whole vacation vibe.

Besides forced SP road trips between championships my biggest gripe with FH2 (from a single-player perspective) is the limited number of courses, of which there are only about 80, if I'm not mistaken?

They've built a beautiful open world with gazillion possible permutations/courses (especially if you consider all the off-road space) and end up making only about 80. Probably because they have to manually put in all the festival props and roadblocks, but still; they could at least create more street races where they only have to pinpoint the checkpoints and drop in the finish line.

I think you can do this if the account you bought the game on (yours) has the Xbox set as its home console, then sign into his account on that Xbox and you should be able to access it, and play simultaneously.
I share digital games with someone using this method between Xboxes, so I think it should be the same with a PC.

Thanks RawNuts, I will give that a try :)

Yep it's very annoying and very noticeable when you're trying to finish all 168 championships (I've still got about 60 to go :)).

The Horizon finales were also disappointing. Instead of having to complete them in some unique ubercar you could've just picked an easy to drive slower car and enjoy the 10+ minute cruise.

There's bound to be some BS with the PC wheel support. I can sense it!

I will be amazed if there isn't. Still, I guess they are waiting for the Win 10 Anniversary patch to go global before they spill the beans.

They're just waiting for everyone to buy it blindly, that is.

I'm hopeful, though. The update has support for a lot of popular wheels, and I'm sure someone will work something out anyway once at least one FFB wheel is in.

TBF I think Microsoft know that they need to be hospitable to PC gamers as much as possible if they intend to have any success on the platform. So I think most if not all wheels will be supported. At least I hope so.

I think it will only be Microsoft branded wheels with other wheels as "coming soon" only for there to be no ETA a la Forza Apex.

I would be pleasantly surprised if it transpires any other way.

You will be pleasantly surprised then :) Full list of wheels is being finalised and we'll announce as soon as we can. Hopefully won't be too long now.

Awesome news!

I have another question. I think the modern Forza games have rumble in the triggers correct? Is that something that's coming over to xbox one controllers on PC as well? I assume they would, but figured confirmation would be nice.

I only have a 360 pad for PC but am curious because those custom designed xbox one controllers look pretty awesome so any other incentive may put me over the edge.

Any way to get this game digitally from the Canadian store if I am from the US to get it cheaper? I read recently that this is harder to do now.

Forza 6 Apex already has it, seems like a no-brainer for FH3 to do so.

I guess exchange rates might make it a bit cheaper, but I'm not sure how they would calculate tax. That being said, if you have a Canadian billing option can you just change the console region and then buy from the Store?

I know for the US I can do that with my US Paypal account, but I don't know if it works the other way around.

I wonder if FH3 on Win10 will have the same crash to desktop / fail to initial launch problems Forza 6 Apex still experiencing till this day.

Probably, I believe the Horizon games use the same engine as the latest entry in the motorsport series so problems/bugs might carry over. But there seems to be a lot of enhancements and features that have made it into FH3, so I hope not.

FH1=FM4 Engine
FH2=FM5 Engine (360 FH2=FM4 Engine)
FH3=FM6 Engine

Can't you bypass that problem by holding page-up or something?

Ask and you shall receive. Thank you Helios!

Maybe I can buy the game now xD

I can barely get my G29 to work with old G27 (Dirt 2, Dirt 3, Grid, etc) compatible games. G29 was a bad purchase, even though I got it for an ok price.

You're scaring me. I bought it on sale and sold my G27, so I got it for "free" but man...xD

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
Why can't it just be any wheel like every other PC game ever to be made?

I can use my G27 with Crysis.

MS seems to have really turned a circle with how the xbox brand is being handled what with play anywhere and halo forge on pc, perhaps open wheel support IS coming? dont want to get my hopes up
