Game doesn't look that great even on the pro. It looks nice, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't wow me much at all.
My problem with 4k resolution is that, yes, it obviously delivers a very nice extremely sharp image. However, in doing so it exposes flaws that are more easily hidden behind something that is 900p or 1080p. Blocky models, poorly placed sprites with no shadows, etc. etc.
For an example of what I'm talking about look at old N64 games when they are emulated. To me they look awful in high resolution. All of the softness is gone and all of the flaws you otherwise wouldn't notice as much now have a spotlight on them.
I'm excited for 4K gaming, but I just don't feel like the hardware even on the Pro is ready for it yet. The assets underneath these 1080p or lower games simply aren't ready. Horizon looks great in 4k, sure, but while watching the trailer I couldn't help but notice all the graphical pop in, some of the less than perfect object and character models, etc. I really do think 4K is something that should have just been saved for the PS5.
