Oculus' Palmer Luckey funds white-supremacist/misogynistic/anti-lgbt harassment group

He's flatly denying being behind that reddit account/post despite the Daily Beast article? What if further proof comes out that it was him?

Can anyone post a comprehensive update? I'm trying to read back to see if there's been an official statement or more evidence, but 6 pages back and I can't separate the wheat from the chaff.
EDIT: NVM, I just saw the new thread. I'm heading over there. Thanks!

Also I saw this, not to dredge it up, but seriously?
Why would you see a piece of evidence and immediately assume that it is the only piece of evidence unless you were strongly inclined to defend the person or the positions he or she holds?

Isn't not wanting to make assumptions like that main reason to seek evidence? Why would you assume there's more evidence just because you found one thing? That seems like counter to the whole evidence thing.... I don't get it.

I mean, light the fires and burn this bitch down, but I'm just a little curious as to whether the dailybeast and others who said he wrote that post are telling the truth. Cause that's just dirty if he didn't

What the fuck is that FB post?

LMAO

That's the nutty party, he's both confirmed and denied that is his username. He's gone full Trump mode, confirming and denying AT THE SAME TIME.

Where did he confirm that it was his username? Are you referring to the wording?

It is strange strange since he could have just said "That isn't my account", but instead he just said he didn't write those posts so I guess that's why this statement took so long and they didn't come out more directly against the Daily Beast article.

Dude is prob freaking rn and didn't even realize the contradiction. I'd put money on he didn't vet that with anyone at FB before posting.
I'd bet he vetted it with someone since he was clear about the dollar amount of the donation, as if he was worried about the IRS digging into it. He turned it into an advertisement for the thing he was apologizing for, so I'd agree he didn't run it past anyone at Facebook.

Here's the FB post in text for a new page
I am deeply sorry that my actions are negatively impacting the perception of Oculus and its partners. The recent news stories about me do not accurately represent my views.

Here’s more background: I contributed $10,000 to Nimble America because I thought the organization had fresh ideas on how to communicate with young voters through the use of several billboards. I am a libertarian who has publicly supported Ron Paul and Gary Johnson in the past, and I plan on voting for Gary in this election as well.

I am committed to the principles of fair play and equal treatment. I did not write the "NimbleRichMan" posts, nor did I delete the account. Reports that I am a founder or employee of Nimble America are false. I don’t have any plans to donate beyond what I have already given to Nimble America.

Still, my actions were my own and do not represent Oculus. I’m sorry for the impact my actions are having on the community.

So...if it's not him, is he claiming that the Daily Beast is just straight up lying?

So then we should definitely expect a lawsuit from you against the Daily Beast, right Palmer?

I don't understand his response at all.

i mean he still confirmed that he straight up donated to the "meme magicians" or whatever the fuck they call themselves so i don't see the backlash letting up

Palmer made a FB post:

Oh dear.

I don't believe a single word he said. Not after all that's come to light, the type of people he associates with, follows, likes and retweets on Twitter or that he's on good terms with Milo. You can't tell me that none of that expresses your views and interests.

Okay, so I wasn't entirely on board with trusting just the Daily Beast, I mean, being a co-founder of a white supremacist group is pretty crazy for a public facing figure.

But I mean, he just admitted having ties to the group... unless the Daily Beast just guessed real well, then there's pretty much no denying it. There's no other way this makes sense.
