Not yet, but some people are suggesting that it is going to be announced this week.

Seriously though, it won't happen (RD3) at a NX reveal.

It would be one hell of a statement of intent if it was though.

Ah ok, i thought i missed it.

RDR is my favorite game of all-time so I am beyond excited for this. I only wish my children were older so they could experience this with me instead of being engrossed in the plot of Snoopy's Grand Adventure.

please don't be a co-op game Rockstar i'm begging you

Rockstar isn't going to abandon single player content. It's what the Houser's seem to love most. But there's obviously going to be a dedicated multiplayer mode. RDR really seemed to be the game where they tried to push multiplayer. So i'd expect something quite extensive after GTAV. I'd definitely expect them to do some cool co-op stuff with the multiplayer as the setting lends itself to something like that quite well.

Account activated!!

What a time too, as I've been waiting for a new Red Dead for a hell of a long time. By far my favorite Rockstar game. I'm loving the (hopefully) daily 9am info drips.

My account got activated in the run up to RDR. The RDR OT was a defining thread for me.

I hope they're going for a Blood Meridian thing with the sun emerging from the zenith like the head of a great orange phallus.

Yeah that the first impression i got to, the sky is blood red too.

Been reading a fair chunk of American literature over the last few years, Blood meridian, Butchers Crossing, The Son (which I'm reading at the moment, and is great) so there is a lot for RD3 to play with :)

Don't really care about a sequel until we can get Redemption on PC. It's so weird how little attention Rockstar gives that game for how popular it is.

I have a feeling that I'm about to get "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst-ed" again. A dream sequel that comes filled with caveats.

- There's going to be a big, sprawling online feature exactly like GTA: Online that sucks cash up from Shark Card equivalents

- Probably a large cooperative focus

- Lack of Single Player expansions in favor of piecemeal additions to the online service

With everything in my being, I hope I'm wrong. But...

RDR was the first game i've ever been on the hype train here on GAF.

I remember i've always been a lurker but then i discovered the great site All Games Beta (now All Games Delta) and they had some brand new screenshots from the game there so i decided to post it here, from that day on i posted frequently and always posted the newest interviews, trailers etc.

This was also my very first avatar here.

So this game holds a special place in my heart.

Seriously, get it out of your head. If it happens it won't be until we're a utopian resource-based economy with super great AI who can do all the work for us.

that's fine as long as the two modes are separate like GTA V and GTA Online

Except EA and DICE are in the business of letting fans down. This is Rockstar.

I remember reading an article with a former Rockstar developer that was saying the code for RDR is such a huge mess that we're never going to get a remaster or a PC port. They turned it all into spaghetti trying to get it to run on the PS3.

It still looks great

That still looks good to me. :D

EDIT: Goddamn it...

Don't get me wrong, the game looks amazing for it's time.

But what i meant by that was it just shows how long of a timegap it's already been, if you'd release a game with these graphics today everyone would say shite graphics.

Pretty crazy to see how far we've come in the last few years.

RDR still has the best in game horse animations of all time.

I was amazed at how realistic they still look earlier this year on the XBO BC.

GTA V had a huge focus on the online mode and 0 single player DLC and I spend more than 150 hours at the offline mode and it's my favorite game from the last gen

So if they do the same with the next RDR, fine by me

RDR as a game was pretty bad imo but with great clouds, physics, and music. Hopefully they add some fun + PC version in the sequel and I'd be down.
