im pretty new to the game (level 8) and i have only played crash site once. i'm not even sure of the names of the other maps but crash site is easily the worst i have played. the one game i played on it was a pilot vs pilot in the mixtape. it was fucking horrendous.

The sentries need to die, such a bs.

Pilot sentries are the worst fucking thing imaginable. I cannot believe they added something like those in.
Play the game more. They are loud as hell , slow to turn and track and go down with 1 or 2 punches. Also, in order to equip one you have to pass on other amazing boosts. I guess we've reached the point where everything needs to be nerfed because someone died 3 times by it for refusing to adapt.Sentries are such a non issue. I think idestroyed 10 or so playing tonight and died twice

I think the maps are fine. Then again, I'm pretty easy to please lol.

I do hope that we get maps from Titanfall 1. I've never played that game, so I'd like to try them out.

I'm in a duel with a titan, I lose but am able to kill them and any AI in the area without having to aim anything and then immediately call down a new titan.
Getting out of harms way when someone is about to eject is stupidly easy. Most likey catching newbs off guard. Animation is loud, bright and long any titan simply needs to dash away. Even as apilot it is easy to escape in most instances. When ppl get used to it you will get far less kills

I'm not sure what to tell you; I think this might be in part a platform thing. I played on PS 4, and based on your gif I'd guess you're on PC. Maybe its the auto-assist, maybe its just a difference in player movement patterns, but I really don't find it difficult to aim in the slightest. That's not bragging, that's just an observation of Titanfall 2's systems, especially the hipfire. In many cases, its better than ADS even at long range.

The big problem with low TTK is the evisceration of the movement mechanics. There's no point to having this wide range of moves when, in 90%+ of encounters, players die in a fraction of a second. Titanfall 1 had a higher TTK, and you had more interesting firefights as a result.

Increasing health is also preferable to increasing recoil, as the latter would just incentivize slowing down to aim - the exact opposite intended effect.

I don't find it difficult to aim on these types of games either but if you see almost anyone firing they're using 2-3 times the amount of bullets required to kill. It's not uncommon at all for people in video games to have 30-40% accuracy, or even lower. In the Call of Duty games (which control very similarly to this) people tend to sit around that number (those games actually report accuracy on the leaderboards, so I thought it's a good example).

It's not difficult to aim, but the weapons having spread and being able to aim well are different things. Even the best players are not landing all of their shots due to weapon spread. If you could see your own accuracy statistic, I think you'd be surprised by how much you miss.

I can't wait to fly around Angel city with the Mozambique man.

Soooo many fond memories of wall running around, leaping through windows and blasting fools in the face with a shotty lol

I've been playing with a bit of a cheese strategy on PC (Grapple + Tactical + Krabber + Hover) and I'm wondering if anyone has had luck speeding up hover's recovery time. It can be really effective, but it feels like it takes to long to cancel most of the time (and it also has some weird conservation of momentum issues, but that's another discussion).

I should probably also unbind by melee key before I go insane as well.

This.

I think I've been killed by one of those things twice in my entire time playing the game (on G3 now).

Dude already had low health and you got him with a headshot...

Yeah I mean I said that when remarking about it. It was an amped headshot, and at least two shots would have hit him, so he was dead regardless of his HP.

I just meant to use it to demonstrate that the Hemlock isn't all that powerful, circumstances allow you to achieve incredibly fast TTKs, like your gif where your opponent was willing to stand virtually still, or mine where my opponent was grappling right at me allowing me to snag the headshot. It's easy to make it look a lot worse than it is, in these short snipits of gameplay.

Personally I actually think that the hemlock gets beat out by the G2 at mid-long range. It has a sweet spot where its very effective but staying in that space isn't always possible.

I love the grapple now. Just a ton of fun to use.

Almost have enough merits for holo pilot, for maximum shenanigans.

I forgot to mention that they only last 1 min. They can be effective when used right on certain game modes and maps but they should be effective sometimes. They are a boost and no boost should be completely useless

Only unbalanced-ish things i've seen are the p90 like smg and how useless Ronin if not suporting other titans.

Ronin needs a little buff and we are set with titans tiers i think, as good as Tone it is not the best in every situation so i don't see everyone using it once the meta settles.

I do hope that we get more vertical maps so pilots can use more wallruning around titans and maybe take the battle from building to building through windows.

Just unlocked holo pilot, i though at first it would be kinda pointless but the amount of times i've made it work already is pretty surprising.

I feel like grenades don't do enough damage to them and they should have more equipment-based hard counters. The electricity grenades, what do they do to them? That's a genuine question as I do not know.

It's odd because titans one shot them, even the anti-titan ones. So I'm not sure what Respawn were going for there. For pilots, you're forced to flank and adapt, fair enough, but for Titans, you can straight up just destroy them. It seems like they'res a missmatch in their efficacy there. If you've spent resources on something designed to be anti-titan, then surely it should last more than 1 second. I'm talking about Ion in particular here, who can laser them down in one shot.

jumping should cancel the grappling hook

Crouch button already cancels it though, and I use jump with the grappling hook a lot to catch air/speed/generally move erratically.

Ronin's sword core could use a slight buff, like it'd be nice if he was immune to knockback and executions during its duration so spamming melee isn't such an effective counter.

It'd be cool if his electrified broadsword caused a split-second arc grenade stun-like effect on hit but that might be too dirty.

This execution is completely worth the 300 merits:

No other shooter can make you feel like such a badass. Titanfall is truly unique in that regard!

In other words, don't piss off anyone in pink in the game...gotcha.

Think for the first time ever (outside of overwatch) I was top in my team in points. Getting a score over 100 ever in a FPS MP is awesome.

Sorry if this is asked a lot in here, but how are the player counts on PS4? I just ordered the game from Amazon after hearing how great the impressions have been. Then I go on twitch to watch some games and it was buried. Like 30-40 games deep, down below Tell Tales batman. Thinking it might be a mistake I pull it up and the top stream only had about 400 viewers.
Seems really soon after release for the game to have that little interest.

It's a little tough getting matches of some game types during off hours but matchmaking is always fast for attrition, bounty hunt, and amped hard point.

They're good, 10's of thousands usually with little wait for matches. Some of the less played gametypes during off hours do have some wait time.

During off hours switch to a server from a different region. I'm in Miami and was in a London server this morning with surprisingly no lag (maybe I was lagging for the other team? Hehe)

I don't know if this is common knowledge, or even if I'm right, but I'm pretty sure one of the executions in the game is a reference to proffesional wrestler Daniel Bryan. The "Knee Plus" was the name of his running-knee finisher before he retired, and the in-game animation is almost identical.

Super cool!

Its equally bad when you refuse to acknowledge any fault and parrot "get good" as if its some kind of legitimate defense.
There are faults, sure TTK or sentries aren't one of them. Also, most balance issues won't be obvious within a week or two of launch. People need to get comfortable with the pace, unique mechanics and gun/Kit unlocks not to mention all the nuances of what each titan is and isn't capable of. It will take time for the meta to emerge. As of right now i see a wider variety of perks, kits , guns and titans being used than most shooters on the market. Everyone is quick to yell nerf or buff despite many of these things having hardcounters. If all these things were op, you wouldn't see the diversity clearly on display in these key areas. You say movement is gimped by low TTk but it is only emphasized even more since it is the best way to survive. You also say it makes firefights less interesting when everyone i know has their hard drive filled with some of the most interesting/highlight reel stuff that they've pulled off in this game. Increasing TTk would ruin a lot of these aspects, imo. You seem to dislike it because it's not TF1 and that's okay too. I would have a hard time if TLOU2 MP if it will be as different as TF1 is to its predecessor .

OK so I know I said only literally a few hours ago that I couldn't find a weapon that felt better for me than the R201.

I just unlocked the G2 though and god damn....my average performance per game has jumped up at least 30% with this beast equipped. I have the Mozambique as a backup for close range, which leaves me feeling a little naked v.s. titans but against pilots the combination is just so deadly IDC.

Are there any ways to group up with Gaffers for MP? I am trying to use the network but have yet to get anyone to join a match.

Also how many times do you have to rodeo to take down a fresh Titan? The battery stuff confuses me a bit.

Also, is there any counter to electric smoke? Rodeo-ing Titans is probably my favorite thing.

Ordered this game. Something tells me this may not have been the hit it should have been at launch, but it will have legs and be successful in the long run. Seeing people playing Battlefield, but for a more quick fix there is only COD as the alternative. The fact that it literally did nothing new on the MP front is making a lot of people I know jump ship to this. I think we have a Rainbow Six situation incoming, although maybe it will be a little faster.

Huh maybe it was a glitch or input problem but if I jump mid grapple sometimes I keep grappling. Is that normal?

yeh thats how it works..

sprint towards a wall and aim yr grapple at the top of it, once it starts whipping you towards it .. hit jump just before you reach it and you'll be catapulted over it .. for huge air. once you nail it you'll never look back.

same concept works on the sides of structures, after grapple activates, get yr cross hairs pointing at the empty space to the side of the building and hit jump, and you'll be sling shotted around it.

think attack on titian and you'll get the idea :)

I was surprised to see population on PS4 up higher than I'd ever seen it before post-COD launch. I was expecting it to surely dip a bit.

I'm not trying to start anything and i respect his opinion . I kept saying TTK was too low when i first started but now that have found a setup i like and am more accustomed to the game i can live longer and surive firefights a lot easier. If you are stationary you will usually die. The game can be overwhelming at first and you are given many offensive and DEFENSIVE tools. The game asks you to master both in order to survive. If you don't, you will probably die quickly and often. Imo, a higher TTK would make it all but impossible to catch and kill during many firefights and open you up to some pretty cheap deaths. I really like how BF has hardcore options with a low TTK and standard mode for those who like a high TTk. I'm not sure it would work here though. I really think it's too soon to make any adjustments yet. I was all for a map hack nerf and am glad they looked at tone and legion. Time will tell if they made the right call but i see a lot less map hacks these days

really wish i had gone for that instead of phase rewind ... takes too long to activate if i've take a few hits already, and unless i'm really moving when i find my self in a jam, the rewind period doesn't seem long enough ... to be fair it has saved me ass a couple times .. i just think holo pilot is gonna be more effective simply because it's an attacking boost rather than a defensive one, ie i'm more likely to be triggering it because i want to rather than i have to. i'm sure there is some rewind badass out there ready to expalin how they use it to warp behind a chasing opponent .. but yeh, i'm not that skilled with it
