Here's something GAF might understand.

Tolerance and love means listening to and respecting someone who voted for Trump.

If you can't do that, you don't get it.

Tolerance and love is not equal to delivering shrill sermons at people.

P.S. I didn't vote for Trump. I'm not white. Thanks!
Ah, the famous "you're intolerant of my intolerance". No respect for anyone aligning with this racist, sexist, homophobic mess.

Republicans now assured to control the House and the Senate - and in all probability, the White House too. A Republican SCOTUS and a repeal of Obamacare looking very likely.

I'm not disagreeing with that but let's work together to make it better. Let's address the problem in those states/cities and fucking move on, together as Americans. All of us are getting fucked, some more than others and that's real shitty, but damn, dividing ourselves is exactly what they want.

You keep thinking that the ball is both in black and white people's court. It's not, and never has been. This idea that black people are as much a problem as white people are in terms of the racial fabric of this country is nonsense and a uniquely pathological problem with the white American community, and if you're going to be preaching about togetherness, I suggest you talk about it to that white majority that just handed the world over to an alt-right government for the next generation tonight.

Never listening to these fuckin' pollsters again. Unbelievable.

I can picture someone years from now wandering through the rubble of a city decimated by nuclear war, and underneath a pile of charred "Make America Great Again" hats they find a picture of this graph, and they just stare at it wondering how this all could have happened.

I hope that you guys spend as much time lecturing your friends and family about the racist things they say as you do here for some random guy after an emotional election night.

Actually it is just as fast to send an email to the GOP and let them know that racism will not stand.

So Clinton will be imprisoned now, right?

No. She has two months time to leave the country and I think European states won't hand her over. Can't believe I'm witing this.

If you are interested in the future, take a closer look at what happened in Turkey and Poland over the past two years.

He's not a traditional republican and clashed with many in the party. He got in without really committing to many concrete stances on policies.

Assuming the worst is fine, but the world won't end. there's always ways to fight.

the way to fight was to not let the entire congress and white house go red.

we fucked up and a lot of people are going to lose.

Is it racist when the overwhelming majority of a race voted for him? Gosh, the next four years is going to be this isn't it? "Don't hurt while people's feelings", those poor straight white men who won't be impacted by this election in the slightest. Us minorities should respect them and be nice to them, we shouldn't condone them for voting for a leader who could undo the years of progress we've been fighting for..

This election has proven that ignoring that demographic isn't an option.

The only choices are to reach out or take control through force. I don't think a second civil war will be in anyone's best interest.

That's worked out well for minorities so far. You know the often stated "be empathetic, see from their persepctive. <summon mlk like a pokemon>".

At this point I can't even be mad at any minority who utters that kind of shit tbh. Because prior to this, minorities always took the higher ground. When their land was taken, communities burned down, them being hung and abused by both the people and government of this country. Minorities were always told "don't stoop to their level. Love and unity will drive out hate."

Yet here we are. If minorities taking the high ground got us to this point, why not say the shit white people say to them? The pretense for taking the high ground based on love overcoming hate was killed tonight.
it's not really that complicate of a concept, you can't ask people to not discriminate when you are the one discriminating, you are just giving them ammunition and giving value to their beliefs.
if that's what you want though, go ahead, go fight the good fight

Look on the bright side: as long as Trunp is around, you are protected from Pence. At least he is (surprisingly) tolerant of the LGBT community in comparison.

You think Trump, who has little political experience, is not gonna be influenced by Pence, who has all the experience?

Celebs who said they'd leave the US if Trump won. Let's see who's full of shit. I'm guessing nearly 100% of them.

Barbra Streisand
Bryan Cranston
Miley Cyrus
Lena Dunham
Amy Schumer
Jon Stewart
Cher
Chelsea Handler
Samuel L. Jackson
Whoopi Goldberg
Neve Campbell
Keegan-Michael Key
George Lopez
Ne-Yo
Rev. Al Sharpton
Raven-Symoné
Eddie Griffin
Natasha Lyonne
Amber Rose
Chloë Sevigny
Rosie O'Donnell
Omari Hardwick
Spike Lee

I hate seeing celebs say this shit. they're all financially secure to actually do it if they wanted and will be fine regardless of who the president was, maybe even better under a rich friendly tax plan.

People are just willing to give the fuck up because some bad shit happens. Fuck all of you who give up just based on a GE. If that's all it takes, you are brittle cowards. Our system of governance is not yet collapsed. We can do a lot more good by staying up and being rational than by throwing our hands up and assuming that the only thing that matters in our country is an electoral vote.

No. The only time that our electoral process means more than we do is when we let it mean more than we do.

Give up? No.

I have just accepted mine and a lot of others peoples lives are going to get a lot more difficult because of other people either being stupid, bigoted, or tired of their own situations and following cheetos man.

You're starting to sound like a republican with that tinfoil hat on.

Things might not be great under trump, but the president is still held in check. It's not a dictatorship.

Who's going to hold him in check? Republicans will be in control of all 3 branches.

no they're not, but as the pictures posted above and in other places clearly show, a majority of white voters resonated with Drumpf

I'm white, didn't vote for Trump. Don't blame me for Trump because people with some nominal resemblance to me voted for him. That's what I'm saying.
