I refuse to support this big, stupid, orange piece of white supremacist garbage. I will *never* call him my president and I will never let him and the disgusting behavior surrounding him be normalized.

Fuck unity.

It's absolutely insane that people actually think Trump is an honest person.
He's super honest. The best honest. So honest I don't actually think he believes any of the things he says he wants to do. He just says those things to trick dumb people into voting for him. Not like those other rubes in Washington. They lie all the time just to try pull one over on hardworking Americans like me.

I agree OP

Trump has such huge potential ahead of him. He has tapped into a base that has been invisible to Americans for the longest time, Rural whites! They may be nonexistent to most Americans but their pain is very real. They used to be a proud people with rich history until the chineses and Spanish came along and wiped all that out. Trump is going to bring back those old times of Rural society being the shining burnt cross example to America.

His family is just as famous as his father too. Melania Trump's speeches have been compared to the likes of articulate geniuses such as Michelle Obama! His daughter is a beautiful young women who a president once said he would like to date! And his sons......are just as brilliant as their father!

I can't wait to see what his presidency has in store for us.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
Did you spend any time looking into Robert Byrd?

The same Byrd that later realized his mistakes in that support and who had the NCAAP mourn his death?

Haha...I feel like he is just going off of the Breitbart article that first pops up when you google Clinton Robert Byrd

We'll see.

I mean the buck now stops at him and no one else will be around to shoulder the responsibility. Republicans have full control. No Obama to attack this time around.

He has numerous promises to keep, how well did that go for Obama? He's promising jobs, which even if he actually manages to keep that promise, he simply can't keep that promise to everyone.

The folks that got him in office are expecting Trump to keep his promises while having a well documented history of not doing that. Never mind the fact that he represents the very elitism they're against. Literally the rich douche that stiffs the blue collar workers.

This election has thrown just about every curveball you can imagine, and I have been wrong on every one, so believing he will turn out to be a great president is not that far fetched to me anymore. But remember Obama had a reality check when he first took office and much of his campaign promises couldn't be kept, the very same is going to happen to Trump. The media is going to be all over him, just like the campaign, except this time there are consequences.

Good luck.

Being that we have pretty much been doing the same shit over and over under the guise that he is republican or he is democrat so what he doing is different then he just might be, that's if actually strays from the expected and shakes this country up. It may indeed make us a better country economically(morality wise is a another story).

He "tells it like it is", which is really just shorthand for "he validates long-held bigoted beliefs that I've been afraid to state in public."

That too, but that's not quite the same thing. As always it's a multitude of things. But consider that projecting an air of authenticity is a thing Obama is really good at.

this is hilarious, Hillary referred to Robert Byrd as her mentor on his passing, who was a KKK recruiter that filibustered against the Civil Rights act. Hillary and the DNC's ties to banks and corporations is unmatched .

Dont get me wrong, I wanted Hillary over trump, but the hypocrisy on both sides is astounding.

Robert Byrd denounced his time with the KKK entirely and made a concerted effort to change before Hillary considered him a mentor.

Nice try with the bullshit false equivalence, though. I guess you get all of your information from images without actually digging deeper on anything.

slapnuts, can you please, PLEASE address in detail how you feel about every single one of Trump's scandals and views, from his alleged sexual assaults, rape, and Trump University scandal to his avoidance of taxes, several bankruptcies, refusal to pay contractors, views on Muslims and immigrants, the Central Park Five, and the birther movement?

Do you really think the aforementioned is "great"? Do you just overlook all of these qualities?

Actually, can you just tell me what is important to you BEFORE telling me how Trump meets these expectations, and not tell me what is important to you AFTER you've considered Trump's policies as a way to make your ideals meet his proposals?

It's like Trump supporters literally live in a different reality than me. I can not see how they think this man is a good speaker or leader. He rambles incoherent gibberish and is lathered in praise. His administration is already a chaotic hailstorm of hate and bad press not even a week after the election. Like, what am I missing? What is there to like about this man?

Honestly, up until the election, I had a passing notion Trump was running a false flag for Hillary. You know, be the craziest right winger, get the nomination, self immolate and hand her the election. I think that still might have been his plan, except he underestimated the American people and the Republicans. After his 60 Minutes interview, I see one of two things happening: Either I was right, and he will keep backtracking on the crazy and prove he isn't as bad as everyone thought, which will get him impeached by the Republicans and then we enter the Gay Conversion Center Era of a Pence Presidency. /shudder

Or..

He was lying on 60 Minutes, and he is that crazy. I really think it is the first one, and a Pence Presidency after they impeach Trump is far more scary to me. Trump at least has been a Dem and a Rep during his life, you give die-hard like Pence a Republican House and Senate and Supreme Court Justice seat? /twitch

Maybe if great is used in a neutral sense to indicate magnitude rather than quality.

He is a ticking time bomb.Extremely dangerous.

Let's just hope he's able to restrain his wild tendencies.

If you think he's hoonest then why vite for him?

If he's honest he's talked openly about deporting millions upon millions and banning any Muslim immigration.

So if he's honest and you believe that and that's why you support him.

You're a bigot. That's not me insulting you, that's extrapolating your support into what it is

I say that most voters are idiots, then, but that makes me a meanie and a smug liberal or something. xD

That would make you condescending ;)

A lot of Republicans probably think that voting for Democrats makes you an idiot too.

It's probably more accurate to say that most humans are more irrational than we like to believe we are. This is how most of us operate under the illusion of free will.

Is this a RLM reference? Either way, damn.

OP you give reasons and examples to prove your point

yet when we do you see he called for division and unfair punishment on individuals due to conjecture and falsehood

you say he is honest yet he lied on numerous occasions

yet let us assume he is honest and and says what he is thinking... being honest doesn't mean anything if what you are saying is wrong

racism, misogynist words and calling for division is wrong

Trump himself said he's not going to touch gay marriage after the supreme court decision, so there's that at least

and I'm a minority FYI

Yeah but unfortunately gay marriage is such a small portion of the struggle for a massive group of people. The silver lining is that it doesn't get touched - only because it's the one thing protected by the courts. Everything else is going to be fair game for these monsters.

The statement wasn't even like "I agree with the protection of gay marriage rights." It was "oh we can't fuck this up, you can have it i guess."

I'll say it right now, with all due respect to democrats, I got nothing against them, in fact, we are all on the same team at the end of the day. However, I would like to express my feelings on Trump. I believe with 100% absolute certainty that Mr. Donald Trump will be one of America's best Presidents, ever! He's bold, he's honest, at least far more honest than most other politicians, and he's a patriot that has this bold, courageous demeanor that feels strong and confident. But what i love most about Trump is his leadership, he's a born leader and i just have this gut feeling that he'll surprise the entire world on his leadership of America.

I am just so happy and relieved that he won, i know others don't feel the same and i can understand because i would feel exactly like they do about Trump as i would with Hillary at the helm. I watched the 60 minutes interview and was proud of Trump and what he and his family had to say. Even with the low ball questions that seem to never stop, he responded well. I also like how he mentioned (not in this interview) that Politics in general has a way of bringing the ugliness out of people involved, him included he said, its true, he's right and like he said..sometimes when people are getting ugly with you, you gotta respond with your own dose of ugliness. I am paraphrasing that but you get what i mean.

So all in all, I am very excited to see Trump make America Great again. I am proud and completely unashamed to mention this in here as i know Gaf is more Dem than anything else but like i said..at the end of the day, we are still on the same team and I feel that a lot of folks have Trump wrong, totally misunderstood and we need to give this guy a chance. He just has this strong courageous attitude that feels what's been missing and in my honest opinion, I think he'll shock the entire world by being one of the best Presidents of the United Stated, ever! God Bless America

Gotta go to work now but remember, we are all on the same team and like many pro-Hillary people in recent days have said...lets give him a chance and stop the division that others are trying to cause in America right now. We are better than that and we have a strong leader about to run this country that will be great for the people!

It's good that you feel okay about Trump, even if you're factually wrong about him being honest or courageous. As far as his leadership is concerned, it's possible he's actually a good leader but it seems unlikely considering how his campaign was basically a leaky shitshow in which everyone was constantly panicking about the ship sinking.

However I just wanted to reply to tell you that Trump has already wasted his chance by surrounding himself with the castoffs of past Neo-Conservative campaigns and the white-nationalist Steve Bannon.

He squandered whatever chance he had by who he's been taking advice from. Trump's a shrewd businessman, likely, but he has an obvious lack of concern for the nation and specifically for marginalized communities in the nation.

Ooh man does that sum things up beautifully. Really get sick of the smug, false equivalency posts I see on Facebook like "Gee CONSERVATIVES didn't act this way when Obama was elected/re-elected"

I'd prefer an OP that states "I'm racist, so I think Trump will be great for America" over the bizarre post we got -- at least THAT would be honest.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a hope to see people banned for thread whining. Mods seem smarter than that though.

Trump supporters on GAF have pretty openly shown themselves to be intellectually dishonest and willing to get people riled up.

They don't give a fuck.

Feeling like OP is desperately trying to assuage the guilt he feels for screwing over minorities by voting Trump with a bunch of unity bullshit
