People keep mentionning WR64. Blue Storm outclassed it in just about every way.

I remember playing WR64 for a few hours when it came out and thinking it was allright. BS kept me glued to my GC every day for a month and a half after it launched. The graphics for the time were unreal and the game had a lot of depth. I remember that Christmas of 2001 when my folks came over, it was basically Rogue Leader, Wave Race, Rogue leader, Wave race, non stop.

Anyway, great news if true. Honestly, even just the same core gameplay with updated graphics would make me happy.

I prefer WR64 in every single way.

Consider this: If it is a new Wave Race there is a high likelihood that some of you will be disappointed in it. What could Retro do with a modern Wave Race that would help it avoid the fate of the "disappointing" Bluestorm?

I enjoyed Bluestorm personally but a lot of people seem to dislike it greatly.

Blue Storm was a great sequel. It just didn't have very many tracks though.

Retro being on WR would be interesting, heh.

WaveRace 64 already released on the Wii U VC and they don't make gameboy VC games anymore, so the chances that it's a VC game are almost zero.

I was going to say this is clearly VC as audiences have changed but actually this could be the exact sort of think Nintendo wants to try with the Switch. Wider range of games; wider audience. It's the sort of thing that would not surprise to turn up on a 3DS.
