So they kind of redid the FFX underwater scene then pulled out a FFVII? That doesn't sound very exciting. Hope they have something unique to offer.

Quite frankly, the story seems to be about as rich as FF1. Crystals, four heroes and one magical asshole who's the final boss. Luna gets fridged but she's Ubisoft iconic. The shallowest move Tabata could do. Sephiroth wannabe moment lol.

I would not be surprised if Ardyn needs the empire because he needs war/strife/dead people to achieve his final form...as a sort of leftover concept from FNC with Etro's Gate.

True but majority of people didn't read the leaks and automatically deem them a mess either. Just by the way this game is structured I have a feeling people will be high on this game.

You don't want to play a video game because a non playable character dies? Why bother regardless, just read a script once the game comes out if you're that uninvested in the actual gameplay.

Yes, my thought exactly. What i hate story the most is how they just focus on king, true king, only king, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, FF VS XIII depicted the war between Niflheim and Lucis, how Noctis seeks revenge and takes crystal back.
I'm so angry when they turn hood man character to Ravus who does not have any importance to the lore.

Well the gameplay and setpieces look astounding. That's the most important part. Story is about as shallow as a kiddy pool filled with rainwater, after 2 mins of light rain. But the gameplay? Everything looks HOT.

And I promise the majority eat this shit up. This game doesn't need grandiose storytelling. Quite frankly it was billed as a journey and that's what we're getting. By the way this game is structured a simple story is probably the way to go.

FF is known for convoluted stories, not necessarily well-written but certainly convoluted. I like the crazy shit. A predictable story (that heavily borrows from previous titles) really isn't going to do it for me. I hope shit will explode later. I don't seek a great story in JRPGs, I just want insane twists and turns.

Dude got the top two right though. Anyway, to see that FFXV is comparable to the mighty highs such as FFVII and X (I don't like X at all but most people do) is a good thing. FFXV is on the "good old FF" side, not the "FFXIII" side.

Man so many cool people had to die for Noctis, this better all be worth it. The hunts and endgame past the story stuff should be good I hope.

With how poor the graphics in XV look, I'm glad Luminious was dropped for future SQEX titles. UE4 is the way to go.

And I'm cool with that. The game needed to come out and as much as I love Nomura the game just wasn't shaping up. Now there are many factors involved in that.

But for this gameplay will keep a lot of people interested. Good to know the set pieces are great. Not to mention side content.

You don't know if he was ever supposed to have any importance to the lore. That was just an assumption that people made so it's really nothing to be mad about.

In this case it sounds pretty promising outside story for a game that went through development hell.

A lot of people jumping to conclusions based on a game they haven't played themselves and already trying to form opinions on a story that they are spoiling themselves through pictures. This thread depresses me.

I have avoided everything FFXV related so far, not on a media black out, just didn't really care.

Does Luna do anything in the game or side content to make her death really matter?

Also isn't the other girl like 13? I think I read that somewhere.

From the sounds of it, not to the player but to Noctis it is quite profound? And the other girl...i think is meant to be 19?
