What exactly is the problem with the death scene? Is to because she sort of rocks her head in an unrealistic manner?

...did that guy on the left just fall over?

Pretty sure there is audio of a gun going off, the man who gets hit by batman shoots his hand gun and it "hits" the guy in the knee.

However, they don't really show blood/gunshots in Nolan's Batman movies, like the intro in Dark Knight Rises.

Yes. Though I think the implication is that the dude with the handgun that Batman kicks accidentally fires it into the other dude... I think.

Either way, the fight choreography in this movie is hilariously bad, with all these guys making these unnatural wide-ass swings with their guns to give Batman time to stop them.

It looks incredibly silly and helps to highlight just how ridiculous her character was by the end of the film.

It's less on her and more on Nolan, who really should have known better.

After the killer Batfleck fight this is even worse.
THANK YOU. And people actually tried to forgive/overlook this shit. Nolanverse Batman fights are pure garbage, and I thank Zack Snyder EVERY DAY for driving that point home.

BVS Batman was literally Arkham series Batman + killing.

It was a bad take and the reaction was really quite bizarre. So many going as far to call her a bad actress and I can't help but laugh. Utterly clueless the fanboys are.

You're a big guy.
It didn't really need an explanation. We all know they choose a weird take. She is a very good actor and I respect how frustrated she was about this; she clearly cares for her work.

Yeah, feel kind of bad for her. Sounds like multiple takes were filmed? I would like to see those out of curiosity...

Were multiple takes filmed?!

But what's "silly" about it?

I mean I never really found it to be an issue the first (and only) time I saw that film. Maybe I missed the absurdity through the other problems, and while it's not a great death scene I'm not sure anyone has explained why it's garnered the reaction it has.

Spends weeks on chalk drawing storyline,
spends 10s choosing final take for Oscar winner death scene

I always thought the dumbest part of that scene was letting her ramble on for so long when theres such little time left on the bomb. The death scene sucks but its not as bad as that kiss shortly after.

We're people actually suggesting she was a bad actress?

TDKR was the worst of the trilogy saved by a few highlights. Now people can actually admit it was a heavy drop in quality from Batman Begins and TDK

To be fair the Knightmare fight in BvS is not much better but that's because it was one long take.

It was a horrible scene but she is a fine actress so I'm more likely to blame Nolan or whoever edited the movie for allowing that take to be in the final film. Unless that was the best take they got...which would be brutal.

It is hilariously bad though.

For a genre that is essentially action films it's kinda crazy that the movie with some of the more crappier action scenes (TDK) is arguably the best one of them all and certainly a high bar. It made up for its shortcomings with everything else.

Damn shame Nolan didn't have the snyder batman costume or choreography. God damn that warehouse scene was cathartic after like 40 years of mediocre batman action on screen

Marion Cotillard is a great actress but I wasn't a big fan of her in the Nolan films she starred in. She wasn't bad but ehhh. Hathaway was much better in TDKR

I don't know anything about filmmaking, but isn't it super uncommon to film only one take, unless it's a very expensive scene? which this clearly isn't.

it's obviously on nolan either way, dude phoned that movie in

Yes. As dumb as it sounds, it's like a weird animation in a game. It just made you -- the viewer -- wonder "Why didn't they do another take?"

Obviously, the rest of the movie is just as questionable, so it's clearly not a problem with the on-screen talent. Weird choices in that movie.

That whole scene was badly directed.

Just saw her in Allied last night. She's really good, Brad Pitt actually holds her performance back a bit.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Class act. This reaction(that she is a crap actress) is what you get when fanboys have never watched anything but superhero films.

There is not a single person on Earth who falls into that category.

Zach Snyder is good at framing a movie to feel like a comic book.

And that's the only praise I'll give him.
