Any explanation as to why I can't get ANYTHING on their website to work properly? Is anyone else having this issue?

Ran benchmarks on all the presets, both before and after AMDs drivers for the beta.

Sadly no additional performance with the beta drivers

Things that stood out for me after a few hours.

Lip syncing is atrocious. Holy shit - its way of. Seems to be some weird shimmering and issues with shadows on the XB1 version too. Other weird graphical effects with pop ins etc.

AI is incredibly dumb on the default setting. I crept right up on the guy kicking the imaginary soccer ball in the intro mission and he didnt see me from 10 ft away.

Clipping is really, really bad. You can park you vehicle and trees will just clip right through them. Same thing with buildings. There doesnt seem to be a proper collision system. You can hang out a window and as long as one tiny part of your foot is still inside the window, the game engine acts as if there is solid ground underneath you. Looks and feels cheap as hell.

Driving is meh, not Far Cry bad at at least. Why cant anyone come close to R* when creating vehicles in open world games? Feels like there's no weight or resistance. A massive 4 door 4WD filled with 4 burly dudes should be heavy as fuck.

It seems like it needs more time in the oven to me. But then they have been on this for four years.... Unless it really grows on me, i will wait till it drop in price. There are some things to like, but not enough for full price.

Does anyone else notice the horrible rain drops in this game?

Also geez Ubi knew what it was doing when they made the Siege free weekend the same as this beta. I can't wait until that finishes downloading so I can try that out with some friends.

Rain drops and enemy muzzle flashes from automatic weapons look terrible. Previous gen levels of bad. Not sure what's up with that.

Thanks for mentioning the muzzle flash--terrible indeed.

I told some people that I think this game looks like a good PS3 game. I'm so confused right now. I mean I get that this is a beta but the game comes out in a month and there has been years of development.

So much better with friends, we just spent a few hours stealthing and it was so fun. Going to 4 man it tomorrow.

Even scoped a pilot with the sniper, nearly got squashed. Then became super man.

Being playing since it opened.

Not impressed, in fact I find it super boring even with friends. The only thing I found myself liking was the sound quality, the tech they used is fantastic.

What rifle were you using when you shot the chopper down? Regular rifle or was it like a .50?

I don't really like this game, I gave it a good go.

The only thing that is acceptable in this game is shooting enemies. If it was like the division (which I do like) I wouldn't find it very fun as they don't drop anything remotely interesting. Why even put the effort in for very little? There isn't a grind in that sense even though there is a grind there.

I had some fun in CoOp, but with really no physics and the game looking old but with shitty performance. It got stale fast. Stealth became useless. I know they worked on this for 4 years but yea its not good.

It should have also been a new IP under Tom Clancy vs using Ghostrecon.

Your post is pretty hyberbolic and inflammatory, but I do wonder why Ubisoft keeps putting so much effort into creating shallow characters and flat narratives and then going nowhere with them over the course of the game. It seems like they're wasting a lot of money that could be better spent by accepting that the narrative is throwaway and focusing on mechanics, network architecture, QA. By the time I got to the introduction of the cynical ungrateful rebel leader stereotype I was already wishing I could just shoot him in the head and align with the terrorists. Nothing is more tiresome game narrative than the "I'm going to complain at you and berate you while you do everything in your power to help me" archetype for me at this point.

Edit: I know the "you could have spent effort/money x on feature y" argument is logically nonsensical without having been intricately involved in the development process for the game, but you know what I mean.

they honestly would be better just not doing a voiced story of it just becomes worse each tom Clancy game we get.

My first outpost raid went well.....all AI companions got stuck in a rock and I pretty much had to do everything by myself lol

Preview I gonna stop playing the beta.

The game is sold to me.

But things that I wish they improve

Character walking animation and a better camera angle, I think the camera is too close to the character I wish something more like The Division.
More squad commands, better driving controls and a option to turn off the sharpening filter on console.

Can't you swap shoulders in this game? I can't find a way to do it unless I go to cover. it's frustrating.

If you holster your weapon(Hold triangle on PS4) the camera goes back.

the more I play the more I enjoy it...downsides and all

like others have said I completely understand the complaints people have with the game as of now...I can just hope some of those get addressed and fixes implemented if at all possible...my main thing I'd want is the ability to give specific commands to specific AI teammates instead of just as a whole

trying to go covert through a base of 10+ soldiers with a mix of stealth and Sync Shots while putting the drone up to scout around for the best time to take people out is fun (and aggravating because I'm not the best at it)

I'll probably pick up the Deluxe Edition if I can get a price good enough before launch (will wait on any Season Pass stuff)

So, I have the beta and am starting it up a little later, but... What do you get for completing missions? Are there item drops or what?

Man I'll try to play the game tomorrow with a friend to see if I change my mind, really tried to like this but the game feels like shit especially after having played and finished arma 3 campaign recently. What the fuck is up with that dreadful pc performance?? I mean this is coming out next month right?

Oh and character faces look awful, like last gen era plastic dolls, the lipsync was pretty bad in the helicopter ride too. That's really awkward as the faces and animations looked much better in The Division.

The controls really put me off from the beginning. It always feels like I need to counter a great amount of input lag which is especially present when aiming down the sights. I mean the game is 30 fps, but to me it feels like they added some extra sluggishness along the way.

Is it just me? (PS4)

I was interested in this, but the beta convinced me this isn't the game for me. It seems like something I should like, but kind of like MGS V, it feels like the game would be vastly improved with large but distinct maps rather than a massive open world.
AI squad tactics seem way too basic
The area designs suffer from needing to be areas that make sense and fit within an open world rather than being designed solely to offer a tactical challenge
Controls feel loose and shooting not satisfying

it's not like The Division or anything with item drops

there are special versions of weapons you can get for beating the underbosses and such AFAIK...plus there are weapon boxes scattered around the world to unlock other weapons for your loadout

Hmmm... That doesn't sound ver appealing. Thanks!

I will give it a shot tonight

What made GR good and which GR you are talking about? Why you feel WL doesn't deliver it?

Just curious.

I enjoyed the original Ghost Recon, desert siege & Island thunder expansions the GRAW games weren't bad either, wild lands just feels boring and easy. The weapons don't feel like your shooting a gun they need more recoil, more feedback and better sounds, when I see the words "Ghost Recon" I expect tactical shooter.

Sure you can send out a drone, mark targets (great easy mode..) but I found most of the time their is no point you can just go in guns blazing.

It does not feel like a Ghost Recon game it has lost its sense of realism, no longer feels like a tactical shooter its more like far cry/division merged into one.

My feelings exactly. The writing and voice acting is beyond the pale bad, so any prospects for this being a worthwhile Tom Clancy thing are basically already gone. The Division is amazingly well done compared to this.

And the driving, fucking hell, it's like going back to a 2010 open world game or something. Just so bad and so unfun, and with how heavily they've marketed the open world aspect you'd think they would have put some time into making it fun to play.

This game plays like poop and the chopper/airplane controls are awful.

"Just place all movement on the left stick. People will have a blast flying!"

Felt closest to Far Cry with co-op added to it. Another "Tom Clancy's" that didn't need to be "Tom Clancy's".

That said, I had a lot of fun with it, ran over some friends with a farm tractor, hard to top that.

Things I noticed that I'd like to see fixed/changed:

1. Most/all cars don't seem to have horns? Or maybe they do and it doesn't show on the ui legend like the rest of the controls do.

2. Helicopter controls are very strange, regardless of which control method you use. For instance, you can't use a slightly-nose down attitude for forward movement, doesn't seem to be enough lift, causing you to lose altitude that way. You have to gain height, then nose down to gain speed, then level off which keeps most/all of the speed you gained and you stop losing altitude. Very strange. Feels more like a glider or a parafoil/sail than a helicopter.

3. The game doesn't remember stance when you do certain things. For instance, if I'm in a crouch and I place a tracker in some supplies I should go back into crouch afterwards, regardless of how I had to move to place the tracker. Nope, always standing up, giving your position away if anybody is looking that way.

4. It seems the only way to get attachments is to go to a specific region and get the weapon crate for that attachment. It feels kind of strange to be able to get a bolt-action rifle 2 side missions in but if you want a long-range scope you're shit out of luck until you hit a particular province.

5. Sync shot is ridiculously overpowered in singleplayer---not that I'm advocating people should buy it for singleplayer, don't bother buying it unless you're going to co-op---making most encounters trivial.

Things that I do like?

Vehicle variety is pretty good, even with only one province.
Weapons feel/sound pretty good. Walk a burst from sternum to head and it makes meaty sounds and the bad guy dies.
There is enough drop/sway on sniper rifles such that they're not super-easy at longer ranges and they're cumbersome enough that you're not going to run around no-scoping people.
Pistol do good damage, headshots drop unarmored targets.
Map is gorgeous, as are most of the environments. Was driving up a creek bed in a technical with the guy on the gun blasting away at a helicopter that had a fleeing bad guy on it, looked and sounded awesome.

I'm playing on i5-4690 with an AMD 470 at 1080p. Only settings I touched were setting framerate cap at 120 and disabled vsync (144hz freesync monitor), and set to borderless. Ran great, looked great. The only slow-down stutter I got was in the introductory video itself, never happened during gameplay.

Verdict: I'll probably buy it shortly after release because I love the Far Cry formula and this feels like Far Cry with co-op to me.

To me GRAW was abomination and was that arcade GR without elements that made original so good. For me WL is return towards origins even when it's easier game than original. I do disagree on weapons, how they behave is quite authentic when handler is trained soldier. Insane kick of weapons and weird, artificial, bullet patterns that most games use are very unauthentic.

I do agree that every GR since original has been less authentic and tactics based.

I thought the same thing. I usually play on pc, so it takes me a bit to readjust from the mouse to a controller. That said, it feels like I'm fighting the game a lot when aiming, more than normal.

Game looks amazing and car controls are so much better than WD2

Funnily enough they recently announced they're going light on pre-written characters from now on and focusing on player-driven experiences. Like imagine making your own story rather than watching cutscenes.

Wish they did this in Wildlands tbh.
