Not sure if you've ever been to an office party, but generally they are never the same type of "fun" you have with your friends. Its normally you get lunch catered in and get out of work for a couple hours...

Skyward sword has more going for it than a lot of people give it credit for, but there is no universe in which those tear collecting sections are anything close to resembling fun. Got me to put the game down for a week or two at one point.

There's enough gameplay and dev interviews out there that shows the lessons they've learned from Skyward Sword. We should also look at A Link Between Worlds in this regard too since that was very much treated as a mainline game and played with the formula. Although, to be fair, not to the extent we're seeing here.
