What's the best Princess Zelda design?

Personally for me, nothing comes close to Twilight Princess' Zelda. To me, that is who Princess Zelda is (and the Smash Bros. games seem to agree). She feels more like a princess of an ancient (medieval) civilization in that game the most.

Skyward Sword Zelda, without a single doubt in my heart:

Literally everything about it is perfect, at least to me.

I really like Breath of the Wild Zelda too. To me, the more regal Zelda designs, while quite good, are actually kind or boring compared to her more recent iterations.

I second this, Skyward Zelda was both adorable and interesting, she and had a great storyline.

This.

Twilight Princess. Stunning, regal version of the character and, while detailed, she still manages to be very understated with clean lines. I think it's a design that will stand the rest of time.

She's also one of the few Zeldas who is actually depicted as having political leadership responsibilities.

I'm not feeling BOTW Zelda, but to be fair I've only unlocked like 2 memories. I hope it picks up. Skyward Sword Zelda was really, really good though.

Skyward Sword Zelda, because she technically isn't princess, just daughter of headmaster.

Hyrule Warrior, because the design is most glamorous and I really like it

Skyward Sword is #2 for Princess Zelda designs.
Tetra is #3.

Tetra is the best, but her WW revealed form is annoying.

So it automatically goes to Skyward Sword Zelda.

I still want Tetra in Smash Bros.

Skyward Sword. One of my least favourite Zelda games but it contains my favourite design of Zelda.

I like the look of BotW Zelda a lot, but I can't stand her voice acting. Ugh.

Most certainly Twilight Princess Zelda. She was so... royal there. Like a queen. You could see her ruling a country.

She looked more like a regal woman than a naive girl.

Tetra is #3.

Agreed on the first two.
Would put BotW as my third in place of Tetra.

I think Skyward Sword is the best, maybe Breath of the Wild will come in second, but I dunno yet.

Twilight Princess is a nice design but her characterization is almost non-existent. I was disappointed Smash 4 pretended Skyward Sword didn't existed considering SS Zelda is ten times the character that TP Zelda is.

In terms of design, it has to be the Twilight Princess Zelda.

But in terms of character/personality, it definitely Tetra or SS Zelda. TP Zelda is so bland as a character.

Man that character design is so timeless. My favorite Zelda design by far.

I feel like it has to do with the fact that Zelda has brown hair rather than generic blonde.

Brunettes FTW.

I'd say Twilight Princess unless Hyrule Warriors counts, because I really like both her and her Shiek look in that game. BOTW's is growing on me a lot too.

I find it interesting that this design existed back in the PS2 days.

I mean this totally broke all conventions of what to expect from a "Princess".

Granted they didn't go all the way with the design ,but it was such a cool beginning to the game.

Until she became a princess, got white washed and did nothing

The coolest thing to me was that she reverted back to looking like this even after everyone knew she was a princess. Like it didn't change who she was, she still liked being an adventuring pirate

Tetra is underrated af as a good Zelda

Man, TP Zelda isn't the pinnacle of rich characterization but I just disagree that Skyward Sword is much better. SS Zelda gets a little more *screen time*, but it's in service of an arc that failed to leave any impression whatsoever. She's introduced as a stock "kawaii" shy flirty dream girl then proceeds to do nothing but run away on an opaque mission that culminates in her getting (what else?) imprisoned in a crystal and sidelined from the narrative completely.

TP Zelda is one-note (and shares the problem of disappearing for the third act, like so many incarnations of the character) but at least what's there is kind of interesting and has real stakes - she made a Faustian pact, she's riddled with guilt.

Always read to me as dirty blonde, since its not far off from my hair.

Gotta go for Tetra, even if she gets weakened by the actual reveal.
