As if the last stage wasn't hard enough, I even tried to get the Black coins! Needless to say, the time I died against Bowser was very frustrating.

How odd. I just launched the game and had to sit through the same Data Download that everyone has to go through when they first launch the game.

Afterwards the game had all my progress still in tact but I'm wondering why it had to go through the Data Download again. I've still got 30GB free on my iPhone so it isn't a space issue.

It wasn't as long as the original download so I assume a minor update.

Oof, I wish I could go back in time and warn myself not to beat world 3 or whatever. Airship 2.0 in Rally is an absolute nightmare. I miss guaranteed 1k runs & free toads :(

I haven't purchased it yet, but what exactly can coins get you? It looks like I already have well more than I need to buy everything available to decorate the kingdom...is there more stuff you earn as you completed levels?

There's a lot more stuff to buy than what you see at first.

Doesn't change how hard the individual challenges are, but year the pain of losing three in a row seems to be lessened.

I hadn't really paid too much attention to this game (Android user in need of a new phone), and I figured I'd only play for the platforming when I eventually buy this game. However, seeing this screenshot has awakened my desire to explore the other modes, as I simply love Toad too much to ignore this.

Just grabbed the 2.0 update on iOS, and it's up on Android too.

What's New in Version 2.0.0

■New playable characters added!
You can now get Yoshis of 4 different colors to join! Play Toad Rally with a Yoshi of a particular color to get more Toads of that color!

■More of the game is now available to play for free!
・ You can now play Bowser's Challenge! If you clear it, you can unlock the previously locked course 1-4! In 1-4, Bowser is waiting to take you on!
Note: You can check the details of Bowser's Challenge! by tapping 1-4.

If you clear course 1-4...
・ You can play new courses in Toad Rally! On the new courses, blue and green Toads will appear to cheer you on!

And I swear SMR is more finicky about the connection than the other Nintendo apps.

So I got some decorations as presents, among them a golden Toad statue.

I wouldn't call a palette swap a new character.

Pretty disappointed with the update, TBH. I was hoping they would expand the World Tour with more levels or new challenges.

Nintendo did. :)

What's nice about them is the added little effect of getting extra coloured Toads. But does it mean you can get certain Toad colours from courses they don't normally appear on? Like, desert is just red and yellow, but if I play with Blue Yoshi will I get Blue Toads too? Probably better go find out.

So yeah, just checked out the new Yoshis. It does indeed give you Toad colors even when that course normally doesn't offer them. For example, the sky course is red and green toads, but when choosing Blue Yoshi it was showing red, green, and blue toads. Similarly, choosing Green Yoshi on the underground offered red, blue, and now green on top of those. This is nice!

So I seemingly already beat the Bowser challenge. But what was it?

So, underground rally isn't for Toad, today I've learned. I also got three tickets from the red bonus house, and all the other chests had one ticket, too.

Yeah I have the full game and beat World Tour. I've done Toad Rally a bunch and I haven't counted exactly but there's fewer than 10 stages. All I know is what's there has gotten really repetitive.

Do you really think Nintendo is going to allow such a thing?

Mario is the crown jewel, they'll do everything to avoid people pirating the game, if it's obstrusive always on DRM and screwing enthusiast smartphone users so be it.

Yeah, but if your phone is STILL rooted/jailbroken, you can do stuff to make the game work (at least on iOS).

If you've previously rooted/jailbroken your device and then stopped doing it, THAT'S when you're screwed.

So Nintendo's DRM stuff doesn't actually punish the people they want to stop from playing their game.

I couldn't play this on my iPad because of their stupid DRM stuff. I didn't even do anything with my jailbroken iPad, I just wanted to get my Ds4 working on my iPad and then I never ended up using it, lol.
