If Mads Mikkelson was on the cover of Destiny 2, he could be basically t-posing and I would still buy 20.

Reading your post and seeing your avatar just made me think box art of Kojima games. Generic dude with gun or without gun in basically all of them.

After the first Destiny's garbage DLC, there's no way in hell I buy a version of D2 with the season pass.

Hoping the PC port turns out well.

D1 is the game that led me to swear off preorders altogether. The fact that they're releasing it with the same launch game, DLC1, and DLC2 package makes me cringe. Definitely doing the Amazon purchase and cancel for the beta invite.

Still my favorite Destiny boxart

Staying away from Destiny 2, however. I'm going to wait until their year 1 stuff is complete, and then buy the collection/whatever they release.

You say until stuff is "complete" but the first year of content will become obsolete when you do jump in.

I don't understand tbh.

Certainly looks like this is going to have its own launcher. To me, that's a sign that they are putting considerable effort into the PC version of this game.

Didn't like 1 but liked the original ideas they had for it so cautiously watching. This news tells me im not getting it till at least a year after launch though. I figured they would have tons of expansions but eh was hoping for some better dlc practices.

Why pay $60+$30 when you can pay $40 for both a year later (is the general sentiment), which I agree with personally, but I'm reserving my comments until I see more of it.

Not going to happen on consoles.

Crucible wouldn't be that hard to have 60fps. PvE I understand because of the scope of it.

Because the first year of stuff is obsolete. Imagine buying Destiny when ROI or TTK came out. Anything from the first two raids are useless. Destiny is the type of game you want to get from the start and play it right through with each piece of new content to get its full potential.

Shinkawa's art stands out way more than just CG rendering though and always looks fantastic. I won't defend MGSV's boxart, that's arguably worse than Destiny 2 in its own way.

Like I said, you'll still be paying for the Year 1 content but that content will be obsolete, meaning you're paying for almost nothing as players have moved on to current and relevant content.

Therefore I don't see the logic in thinking you've saved money.

Either an Activision Launcher or the Blizzard Launcher will update to Activision Blizzard launcher.

Or that.
I would rather have to launch the game through steam that launches a activision launcher that then launches a destiny launcher.

Blizzard has it's own ecosystem and doesn't need to be cluttered with more bullshit and the backlash would be fucking insane.

I'm aware, but even to this day, if people buy Destiny: The Collection, they're likely to play through the story regardless of obsolescence.

I suppose that's true, but the story is such a small part of Destiny in terms of content. Maybe that will change in D2.

I want that collectors though.......fuck, hopefully I don't have to balls to the wall fly to gamestop after work.......the only game I will be getting their unless the Cayde 6 pre-order bonus is elsewhere

Eh, destiny 1's content is just story, strikes and raids for PVE, plus PVP. There really isn't that much they'd miss out on. Crota? VoG? Meh. Plus, they're getting reworked anyway so you'll see them again once even if the content was obsolete whenever you started playing.

On the subject of launchers, I just hope they don't market it as a win10 game.

Totally not because I still run win7 on my main PC...

Issue being game also being on OG boxes along with Pro and Scorpio. Sony doesn't allow Pro players to get advantage over PS4OG players and I'm very surprised if MS allows that.

60FPS is big advantage over 30FPS in PvP environment.

Going digital for sure. Played D1 off and on for so long that there's no way I want to be discovered swapping lol. Sticking with PS4 version despite owning a beefy PC because the PC community will likely be dead AF shortly after release.

You're spending your silver whistle, guardian

Yeah it's just I have the CEs for Vanilla and The Taken King so this will look awfully nice next to them. But I want a digital copy for instant access as well.

And there's a chance I may get the PC version too. Dear God Activision gonna bleed me dry

Oh yeah forgot about that situation. Will be curious to see if they dial down the res on the OG ones to try hit that.

If I had more than one platform, I'd likely be doing the same thing

We still haven't been to Saturn, Neptune etc. :p

Exactly. Where did people expect to go?

I just hope destiny 2 has raid finder, still never tried most of the hard raids or completed rise of iron raid yet :/

Cayde-6 figure and collector's edition are exclusive to GAME in Spain.
Barely announced and already filled with DLC and expansion stuff, leaving vanilla out in the cold immediately. I may have given it the benefit of doubt but the original vanilla was an incredibly lacking and empty experience.

Ugh the Solar system again?

At least there's a chance they will make it somehow interesting this time. It's not like Mars or Venus were not some generic earth setting. I don't think it matters if the planet is really outside our solar system if they are going to copy/paste mundane earth environments on them.

Story sounds garbage. Vanilla destiny promised all this blah blah, Guardian, fight the Darkness, last city, traveler.

But the majority will just be there for the sweet raids designed by Luke and the team. Hopefully PvP is looked at with a greater, more skill based approach.
