This and Bomberman would be the "test" games to see if even N Switch games will never have price drop, as N console games usually... :\

What's a Violent Ken...?

3rd party games often times do drop, unless they are super popular or have a limited release.

I recall picking up Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends and Zombi U for $10-15 a few years back.

Oh boy 'new modes' and 'balance changes'

Oh wait they gave those out for free for SFIV. Fucking Omega mode.

Was free.

40$ is what you charge for a HSF2/SFA3/SF33S/USF4 (with Gem Fighter Mini as a bonus for good measure) compilation. Not for this. Will buy whenever it drops below 10... Between HSF2 on my 360 and SSF2THD everywhere, I really don't see any need for this atm.

What? Just USF4 by itself costs $25, SF33S is $20, you must have a way-off-whack sense of value to think they could pack those 5 games into a compilation for $40. Lemmee guess, you play mostly mobile games?

Fortunately CAPCPOM has been one of the more aggressive publishers on 3DS/Wii U when it comes to discounts so I'll buy this when the price is closer to Earth.

That's what I paid for it at Sears.

Wow, I bought SF2 using Xmas money as a kid... I had no idea I was so loaded!!!

Oh good. Thought the physical version might have been a GameStop exclusive since no other retailers had it up for preorder. I'll cancel the $5 down I have at GameStop and opt for Best Buy instead. $32 after GCU is good enough for me.

Yup. My total after applying my points was $28. The most I'd ever pay for it.

Not all that unreasonable when you consider the fact that companies (including Capcom) put out game compilations all the time.

SEVENTY DOLLARS

IN 1992 MONEY

FUCKING MILLENNIALS

This is why I shrug alot of the price reactions that happen off.
People do not remember what it was like to walk into Motgomery Ward or Toys R Us and drop 65/70 for Wizards and Warriors or Castlevania 2

That was a long time ago. Some people weren't even born.

And it's not like times haven't changed just a little bit, haha.

wow man I gotta say, some switch games just really don't want to be purchased at these price points. first binding of isaac for 40 (sorry, I'm not paying 40 for a game I got for under 5 bucks on pc, despite the extra content I don't really want), and i'm certainly not going to pay 40 for another rendition of SF2. cheers to those willing though

edit:
lol... sf is a pretty bad experience with 4 button layout controller. Maybe by the time this comes out there will be a 6 button layout or something.

the joycons have shoulder buttons. whether or not they work in this game, I do not know

Yeah, but it's 2017, and we don't have to go to a store to pay ridiculous prices for games anymore. There are countless titles available for low prices, everywhere you look.

Why the hell is it not giving the 20% pre-order discount at Amazon? That was the only way I was gonna justify getting it; for ~$32 after the Prime discount..

Amen, brother!

Seriously, I blame the generation whose first console was the PSOne when Sony started slinging $40 first party and exclusives for all of the pricing complaints. They have no idea how much money those of us who have been playing since the 80's had to pay for our games.

BUT, $40 for USF2 is gross and slightly insulting to me. My main reason being the original version of HD Remix isn't even half that much on Xbox 360 and PS3. Factor in that I cannot see the Joy-Cons being comfortable enough for good two-player sessions and it drops way down on my wants list.

And I love SF2, I have dipped many, many times over the years.

Why are we pretending the state of the art wasn't different back then? SF2 was a 16 meg cart, the first 16 meg cart I think. Twice as big as the carts that held the previous large capacity benchmarks like Zelda 3 and Final Fantasy IV. It was a brand new, genre defining, technological showpiece title. It was the equivalent of a MGSV or Rise of the Tomb Raider in terms of wow factor.

On top of that, technology in general was costlier back then. And of that cost, $25 or $30 went to cart manufacture before the retailers got their cut. So it was a racket but there were also good reasons a new SF2 cost you $70 in 1992 money that no longer apply.

That's before we even get into the circumstances of USF2. Which are that this is a reheated port of an outsourced low cost downloads only "update" of fairly dubious quality whose main additions are a couple of out of place hacks of Ken and Ryu that would embarrass if they were the work of someone new to MUGEN to say nothing of being the focal point of a $40 professional product.

I really want to know how rebalanced this game is.

It feels like a completely new SF game.

I just wished it had original ST too...

You clearly have no idea what Binding of Isaac if you think the expansion content is 'extra stuff you don't really want'. Binding of Isaac as it is now is nowhere near the same game it was when it came out for $5, and the content updates are easily worth $40. But sure, keep misrepresenting the game to fit your narrative, sure.

So sitting at $40, this is the same price as USF4 right?

Because honestly I'd rather go with 4 for $40. Lots more characters.

If it was pixel art with some crt options and maybe double the roster of the original 2 I'd be in so hard for that price. I don't really like the cartoon hd sf style

Glad it exists though

I know the Sega Genesis version of SF2 Turbo & the Alpha 3 game have that move. Super SF2 and Super Turbo doesn't.

Interesting. I didn't know it was removed from the "Super" titles.
And I think you mean the Genesis version of "Championship Edition" or something as it didn't get Turbo like SNES. Or Alpha 3?

Yes. Genesis had CE. Alpha 3 uses separate/newer consoles.
