Well, this explains why they're pushing the Rice non story. If anything, this shows me they really have nothing on Obama, and are just grasping at straws as the walls start to close in on them.

"Operationalized" "deoperationlized"???

When you can't even accuse them of anything illegal, and you have to come up with buzzwords to make your case, it's over.

Not much that I've seen. He seems like he's kept his distance from the well-known group who've been involved with Russia.

Isnt the fbi investigation britebart coordinating with Russia? He certainly may be a part of that.

Hmm, I wonder what Drudge's game is here. The headline is inaccurate (he still has a security clearance), and the center-stage framing and accompanying photo sure paint Bannon in the worst light possible.

If even Drudge is beginning to turn, then maybe the deplorable right's love affair with Trump — already bruised by his throwing the Freedom Caucus under the bus and his inability to make progress on Obamacare repeal/travel ban —really is coming to an end.

Also;

I'm guessing by "operationalized," they mean that Susan Rice was using the NSC as a political body and Bannon went in there as a white knight to make sure it wouldn't be used like that.

So they're trying to assert that:

• They knew Susan Rice was doing this from the beginning of the administration
• Bannon went in there to 'save' the NSC (why couldn't the Natl. Security Advisor do it?)
• They kept quite about it since then
• Bannon miraculously achieved his mission the same week that Susan Rice's name is being dragged out to distract from Russia investigation.

I love how they suggest they knew Flynn might be a Russian spy, which begs about a million questions... like "why did you knowingly make a Russian spy the NSA?"

Reading the updates, I'm getting the sense that WH is going with "this was the plan all along!"

Yes. Infowars was specifically mentioned as well. I've also heard some talk that Fox News is being looked at too, but nothing official.

Just last week at the Senate Intel hearing, the panel flat out said Trump was *still* being fed Russian propaganda by his team, so Bannon could easily be involved in that.

Does this mean something that is going to taint Bannon (as if he isn't pure taint already) is making the rounds and soon to surfaces? The far right doesn't turn on Trump's goons until it is their marching orders to do so, as to pretend like their hands are clean.

I think Trump finally realized that Bannon being so involved was not helping his image. Trump only cares about being adored and worshipped and anything that impairs that is bad. Hopefully this is the first step to Bannon getting the whole boot. The kiss asses around Trump can no longer shield him from the world's hatred of him.

The more cracks that show, the happier I am. Fuck that orange fuck and all his supporters.

At first I thought this was McMaster giving Trump an ultimatum to force Bannon's removal, but now with the news that Bannon didn't attend a single NSC meeting anyway, that theory doesn't hold water.

So it's either a way to insulate himself from an upcoming media shitstorm or a (dumb, circuitous, ineffectual) way to keep the Rice stuff in the news.

Is this the first time that anyone has used the term "de-operationalize" at any point in this administration? This reeks of the dude trying to come up with jargon on the fly to rationalize his departure.

Yes. My guess is they didn't want to use the word "politicize" becuase no one is going to take someone like Bannon accusing other people of "politicizing" anything seriously.

But "operationalize".... that gets people talking at least. "What does he mean by that?"

It's kind of like how "Unmasking" is the word du jour in Washington this week.

Yeah, I think you are right about the Rice thing. This admin has no other move other than fucking up and trying to distract and deflect. Well that and just lie over and over.

Good fucking god. The course correction is real. I knew I still believed in this country.

Get rid of Sessions and the hope will start to burn again.

Of course, he (Bannon) is in the employ of the billionaire evangelicals who back the likes of breitbart: the DeVos, the Princes, the Mercers, etc. They, like the Trumps, are totally in bed with the Russians. Everyone in this administration and who funded Trump's ascent to power is corrupt here.

With the recent attacks in Syria Bannon was probably pushing for US to join in with their own chemical weapons and McMaster had enough of his BS.

Sounds like he was there to F it up. They put him on it and he didn't attend a single meeting yeah right.

Same official says the president made the decision, this was the deal from the beginning, and "we all knew Flynn had issues"

If (and it's a big if) this is true, I can't see how the Trump administration walks away from this.

Remember, Sally Yates specifically warned him that Flynn was compromised. He can't blame the Obama administration. They actually tried to help him by warning him for god's sake.

If his explanation is really going to be "We knew Flynn was compromised, but we put Bannon on it.".... that's not going to fly. At all.

"We all knew Flynn had issues"

Prosecutors, this is actionable intelligence. They just admitted way more than I'm sure they meant to.
