almost every FF is divisive tbh
XIII was actually decent with beautiful designs for the environments especially the ice section.
The story was lacking in places but it was alright, now XIII-2 was utter nonsense.
Except FF14 1.0
SE should stop announcing games too early.
This was proven incorrect by FFXV sales, which is yet another divisive FF game like XIII.
It had many people on the internet talking badly about the series but that didn't translate to "hurt brand perception." XV was a success.
Yes, it's a good game. I know there seems to be nothing between "amazing" and "shit' on the internet, but XIII doesn't fit into either of those categories.
It's an average/good game with numerous issues. I have no issue saying I think it's a better game than VIII, for example, which was another divisive FF.
Nah, it was decent.
Now these are fighting words.XIII is great, shut up.
XIII-2 is shite tho.

You can't really blame them if the last big game came out over 10 years ago. It's only natural for the fans to ask for a new entry.People should stop asking for it at every opportunity too to be honest. That's the only reason they have shown both KH3 and FFVII remake so early.
If you were 14 when the first KH came out and played KHII a bit over 3 years later when you were 17 you got an extremely satisfying conclusion to the story arcs of the first three games. Just seeing one tiny cliffhanger about a letter from the king after the credits didn't make me think "I NEED KINGDOM HEARTS III NOW!!!! I need a "true" conclusion!!"I guess I just don't see why "waiting since KH2" isn't valid. Yes there have been other games between then and now but with the exception of BBS they've been essentially stalling tactics. Let's say the most wildly optimistic scenario turns out to be true, and KH3 by some miracle makes it out in 2018. If you were Sora's age, 14, when KH1 came out, by the time you get to play KH3 and finally see the story finished you'll be 30. That's fucking ridiculous.
In the last four years of X-Play's existence, the most common question we got from viewers was, by a very large margin, "When is Kingdom Hearts 3 coming out?" The fact that we still don't know the answer to that question four years after X-Play went off the air is absurd.
Nah I think the main reason we haven't seen much of either since 2015 is because all of 2016 Square Enix was laser-focused on the imminent FFXV and didn't want any of their other AAA JRPGs distracting from it. And we probably would have seen both around PSX if XV wasn't delayed but because of that I think their next showings were pushed back to the next major event, E3.KH3 is taking so long because FFXV/vXIII took Nomura's time for years so he couldn't fully be committed to the KH games then he lost vXIII and now he's put on KH3 and VII:Re so I imagine the split time is why we've not heard or seen much of either of them.
Well there is still room for 2.9 that re-releases everything in one big kahuna.

Yeah but it would be pointless. Only reason to bundle the 3 Collections would be if they planned on bringing them to Xbox One or PC. I could see a bundle of "Kingdom Hearts: The Dark Seeker Saga" that bundles everything including KH3 when that comes out.
I also doubt we'd even get a 2.9 or any substantial KH release before KH3 period. They don't have any more games to easily remaster and it would require a new slice of content like the KH3 prologue that was included in 2.8. It wouldn't be worth the time and resources that need to be put on KH3 and it'd be a pretty bad value since plenty of people found 2.8 a hard sell to begin with.
I think most people's anxiety about a potential 2.9 comes from the final scene in KH 2.8 being called "2.9 The First Volume" or something to that effect. In the end that game ended with them blasting straight into KH3 so I don't see what else they could even squeeze out at this point.
Now these are fighting words.
I really believe Xbox players aren't getting a collection, and they're just gonna have to deal with that. Square's handling of being multi-platform post-PS4 world domination seems to be telling of the fact they only announced KH3 and XV as being so to cover their asses at the start of a new generation. Now that they've seen how sales (of consoles and their games on Xbox) have gone, they don't really seem to care about that part of the market. Which is kinda messed up, but I get it.
