Royal staff called to Buckingham Palace for emergency meeting

I reckon it's like I said earlier, the palace WhatsApp group was down and she called everyone in to see what they want for brekkie.

There is literally nothing on the news with regards to this. Almost all the news organisations here have a dedicated Royal correspondent and any news at all would be clearly prominent vs it's current leading headlines, which at the moment is focused on the French election debates (I am unaware if political reporting today has been restricted due to today's local elections - it seems to be at the moment).

If there was any rumours, we would hear about it.
Suspect they're all trying to play it down until they know what, but being ready regardless. Everyone seems to be getting the off the record briefing that it's not a death but no more than that. Sky's passed that on to all stations they with work with too.

I guess many news outlets know not to speculate too much like this or they'll damage relationships with the Palace.

They just said on ITV there'll be an announcement at 10am. No one dead, but may have constitutional implications - but not massive massive.

Of course they were guessing.

BBC Breakfast still talking about men with eating disorders, no mention of it.

No mention on Sky News either.

Not "massive massive"?

Uh, aren't constitutional implications... by implication, massive?

Just to repeat, Queen Elizabeth the second is not dead – unless she went in the night and is yet to be discovered by the maid.

I do wonder if it may be the engagement of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle.

You'd think so - that's exactly what the guy on Good Morning Britain on ITV said though, his words.

It's weird - what would be cause for an 'emergency' meeting other than death or abdication?

Queen to abdicate and pass the sceptre to Theresa May. The first elected Queen of the United Kingdom.

The Royals are going back to Hamburg.

I mean she did meet with May yesterday about the election.

This is super unlikely but God it'd be great if Liz was throwing away the token impartiality of the Royals to throw the conservatives under the bus. More likely all the doilies got nicked and this is damage control.

In the past UK media has agreed to hold back on reporting Royal matters for safety reason. Most of this was related to Harry in Afghanistan though, and the media got to film it and release it later.

So, the media might know something, but they all agreed ro report it together.

"After extensive DNA testing we have determined that Prince Harry is NOT Charles's son. Henceforth, he shall be know as Harold Snow. He has now been dispatched to Hadrian's wall to defend the realm from the threat in the North."

The royals just want assurances that, as EU migrants, they'll be allowed to stay in the UK after brexit.

She wouldn't announce her abdication during a general election. Besides, she can only abdicate with an act of Parliament, which she dissolved yesterday.

With parliament dissolved no-one can stop her! She can finally do what she always wanted... Hip-hop!

Any DNA testing in this country has to go through Jeremy Kyle first.

ITV wouldn't be speculating about it if they knew what it was but weren't allowed to say.

The queen is an alien.
Dont be silly, you can't be an alien AND a werewolf.

My second guess.

Okay this made me laugh, lol.

So it looks like I'm staying up until 10 for the announcement then (UK here, pulled an all-nighter). Will probably go to sleep straight after.

So she's abdicating then.
Well it could be the announcement of plans to abdicate in the near future, or perhaps plans that when she does die or abdicate, that Charles will immediately abdicate to allow William to take the throne.

Or if we're reading into the 'constitutional implications' then perhaps they are changing things so William can automatically become King once the Queen is gone rather than Charles, either through nomination by the existing Monarch or otherwise.

There is a lot of demand for William to become King and it would do wonders for the perception of the Royal Family.

Thing is, they wouldn't do any of that stuff on the day of the local council elections and a month before a general election.

Well if Liz was going to break her impartiality, one party leader is a republican, so I'm pretty sure it's obvious where her loyalties would lie.

Her Majesty watched S01E01 of Black Mirror on Netflix last night and has decided that Theresa May has to fuck a pig live on TV in order to trigger Brexit.

I heard she had a bad stomach... was on the loo, with a bad stomach ache. And she called the head staff shouting "This shit won't exit"... he heard it as "The shit we call Brexit"...
So they staff called an emergency meeting ...
