Try this if the wiggling doesn't work:
Press the PS button to go to the system menu
Point gun at camera
Press PS button again to return to the game
After that little bit of no control, hold Options to recalibrate

quoting for future reference - cheers. OOI, what do you mean about wiggling!? lol

Been messing around with my set up all night to try and get it stable before buying this. I have realised the headset tracks perfectly but the DS4 is almost pulsating, moving back and forwards etc. I cant do anything more I have literally tried every tip I can find online. I guess the aim controller will behave like the DS4 so I'm fucked for playing this game. Very annoying that a £400 piece of tech is so hard for me to get working :(

may be faulty?

Which part though? The headset tracks fine, so that suggests the camera works? Im baffled

You don't have the lightbar covered, right? Also, try using the controllers gyro for typing out a message or something to see if it is maybe a fault with the gyros

Fucking great so far.. one level in. The gun model.. the shooting.. its unlike anything else I have played. Took me 15 min to figure out the buttons by the back analog. . .. did not know they were buttons, kept thinking it was analog that triggered them.

This game is a show piece for the PSVR .. running it on the pro and it looks amazing.

How do you guys have placed your camera? My bundle is coming the next days and I want to get the tracking the best way possible. I read on reddit somewhere that you actually need to place it above yourself so it looks down to you to track more space. Any experience with that?

I just placed it on top of my TV for games like Mortal blitz and its working good.

Even though i felt uncomfortable from a lot of the movement, im really craving playing this again. Must be why im lingering in the thread. No other game has made me want my own psvr like this one.

It is worth gaining your "VR-Legs" for.

Only played the first 30 - 45 mins so far but I'm really liking. Graphics are nice and the voice acting is well done. The Aim Controller definitely makes the game way more fun and immersive than if it was a standard shooter.

Now the Spiders, Jesus why do they have to jump at your face lol I walked by a ledge and as I looked to my left, one landed right in front of me and I nearly shit myself lol girlfriend was laughing at me for 10 mins.

I think I'm going to enjoy Farpoint from start to finish, it looks like it will be a lot of fun.

I recommend it mounted to a microphone stand. I bought this one off Amazon.ca

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01A88MC9K/

I was able to just remove the whole mic clip, then I slid the camera stand opening (Snake like stand attached to the camera) over the threaded Pin sticking up, and then I threaded the plastic bolt back over it. Now I can raise or lower the camera, turn it left or right, and move the mic stand itself now that I have the camera extension cable. By mounting it the way I did, I am also able to tilt the camera to face more up or down .

I find the best camera placement depends a little bit on what game Im playing so being able to adjust so easily is great. Holoball needs to see everything whereas a light gun shooter ideally has the gun more in the middle of the screen.

All this combined with a swivel office chair with arms or a non swivelling stool with no arms and just a small back has given all the flexibility I need.

I could try to post some pics of my setup if anyone is intrigued enough.

Fucking hell. Game is intense. Just made it to the bit
where you first get grenades for your shotgun.
I've never had a problem with nausea and VR but Farpoint is getting to me. Stomach definitely felt uncomfortable. I'll poke around with the settings a bit more.

On a related note, the checkpointing/save system needs to be way more generous. I can see myself dipping into this 20-30 minutes at a time, but the "unsaved progress" notification is so unclear that I don't know if I'll lose progress or not. When you combine that with the fact that the PS4 needs to be restarted frequently to avoid tracking issues (so you can't leave mid level in rest mode) and it's all a bit of a mess.

No complaints with the Aim. Fantastic piece of kit. Aiming down sights feels very natural.

I had my doubts about the Aim, but this is definitely a top PSVR title right next to RE7. Sure, this game, without VR and Aim... wouldnt be anything to write home about. Shocked at how well the Aim worked and how natural it felt to use. Best motion tracjing to date, IMO.

Cant wait to show this one off to friends, they loved RE7 and Thumper, and sure this will go over great!

Sitting or standing?

Go!

I only tried standing so far

I do both standing I set it for my height, siting I set it to the lowest 4' 11", and I do it in game because to change it takes all of 5 seconds.

I would love the option of a standing and seated option that was already in your profile.

Ars Technica's review is up. Claims the game is better with the DS4 than with the Aim? What? Anyone care to comment?

Totally disagree. Actually the exact opposite. This game is extremely pedestrian if you play it like a normal FPS with a DS4. With the Aim, it's a freaking revelation. My heartrate went way up and I started sweating while playing with VR and an Aim. I love changing the weapon by pointing the gun up, feels so natural.

Holding the gun up to where my eyes should be and seeing that red laser sight within the ironsights still blows my mind for some reason.

Ugh, why does the PSVR have so many wires. Come on Sony, this shit needs to be wireless in 2017.

That will probably only happen with a PSVR 2 and only on the PS5. And even then, only if they can manage to do it and keep costs down. The tech is there, but it would have put PSVR out of reach for most consumers. Even as it was, people were still scoffing at the price tag at launch. Wireless would have been unsustainable.

For standing games I pull them all behind me and let them lay on my back, not that bad like that.

I am waiting for wireless Vive before I jump into the PC game though.

The game really clicked for me this afternoon - it's so much fun to just aim and shoot the assault rifle and shotgun.

I feel like such a badass aiming down my sight and shooting these fucking spiders. Scariest video game spiders by far, when I blow one up another is usually right behind it, scaring the hell out of me. Very fun game so far, the sense of presence is amazing. Sometimes I like to look around whatever cave I am in, feeling totally transported onto this alien world

The wires are also heavy so you kinda feel their presence while playing. I mean, it's not a huge deal but it could have been designed better.

Holy shit I thought I almost smashed in my PSVR and broke the Aim Controller, because of those goddamn face huggers. I was in an intense battle, man that 3D audio is amazing, I turned my head in the direction of another spider and when I looked backed a fucking face hugger was an inch from my face and I went to bash it and smacked myself in the face really fucking hard. I had to stop and take inventory of myself and my equipment.

Yes. This. I assumed the game would reload me at the same checkpoint I started at after I died, but instead it pushed me all the way back to the beginning of the "level" and I lost tons of progress (but kept my gun upgrades, which was kinda nice).

Still! This needs to be more clear. Some sort of demarcation for when a level begins and ends. I now know it's cutscene based (I think?) but we shouldn't have to assume that.

Anyone else having issues with the holo-sight? It seems hard to keep exactly right ... I wonder if it has to do with the eye measurement setting. I can get it, but the gun is off center - and maybe it's supposed to be that way - but it's not super comfortable.

I'm getting a slight judder with the gun, too -- it doesn't bother me in action, just is kind of there. I'll mess with the set-up tomorrow and see if I can improve it.

Otherwise, the game is awesome -- one of the spider things snuck up on my left hanging from a rock, totally made me jump. Oh, and the first time you have a huge gib fly right by you and bounce on the ground making a fleshy sound is pretty wild lol

Have you tried closing one eye and looking down the sight? And are you holding it pretty close to your face? If not try those two things.

Also Farpoint has some nice story telling stuff, nothing too long but the cinematic cut-scenes are immersive and voice acting isn't shabby either. In fact the voice acting has been anywhere from decent to very good.

Yeah, they're pretty nice.

The AIM is so slick, it feels so good to use and when it tracks in game, and really adds to the illusion.

The light gun isn't just to aim at stuff on the TV like previous Versions. The light gun with the addition of VR is a whole new ball game.

This.

And inside the headset it feels nothing like aiming at stuff on the TV due to the whole difference of perspective in VR.

Like someone mentioned already (and has come up in other threads too), really want Bandai Namco to bring back and do a Time Crisis VR (and Sega with Virtua Cop lol).

Yeah, it's fine with one eye -- that's why I'm thinking it's an alignment issue.

I think that's by design, honestly. A real scope is the same way. The tiniest bit off and it won't align properly and it's much easier to align with 1 eye closed so your brain doesn't play tricks on you on which way to move the gun to compensate.

I really do wonder if somewhere deep in Sony, the execs aren't taking a good, hard look at Killzone 3, which used the Move shooter control and wondering how much it would cost to port that over for VR using the Aim Controller. It's basically ready to go in terms of content.

This has to happen. The Hostile nature of Killzone would translate into VR very, very well. Just like the feeling of dread you get in RE7, Killzone's universe is tense even in 2D. Combined with the now verified awesome PSVR AIM..... sogood.gif
Please Sony do this!!

It's got Knack-tier save points, with the added fun that you never really know where they are. I made it up to the large boss but didn't pass it, I'm hoping I can start right there at the weekend, but have a feeling I'll have to retread for the previous story hologram :/ It's the only real problem I have with the game so far.

man that 3D audio is amazing

It's that good it's easily taken for granted. Works very well in this game.

Im getting my ass handed to me
by the spider queen
, any sugesstions?

I just beat it, if you are still having issues
use the assault rifles rocket to hit the spider queen and use the shotgun and its grenades to hit the smaller enemies. I forgot if you can control the trajectory of rockets.
I was running around a lot, but once I got the hang of it, she isnt that hard.
The next level is already killing me

The problem I'm having is
the rockets travel so damn slow. When she is up on top of the cave, I can't seem to get the timing right and I waste 3 rockets after the weak spot goes away.

Yeah its very timing based you kind of have to shoot before she opens her mouth. I cant remember but I think if you hold the button down you can control your rockets

After you fire a rocket, your gun shines a laser beam that the rocket will track to an impact point.

Took me a while to understand it as well.

Oh, I was just holding my reticle over the weak point while holding the button down. But yea this is the key to win
