Just wondering. The working HDR box would be bigger interest to me. Throwing out the 2.0 as testing the waters. :) I don't believe in less then a year Sony pulls a new revision out there bunghole lol.

HDR box is plausible but PSVR is just not big enough for them to justify another SKU. A revision down the road might do that though.

That's a good point, as another poster mentioned it would be nice to have it free for those who have it currently or an upgrade offer. We will see. Mine is on its way.

This gets me super excited for the future of VR FPS games. But then I start to think that Sony and other devs aren't going to take advantage of this, which just seems like a huge waste of potential. I'm hoping E3 can ease my concerns.

A reasonably easy way to get some content out that wouldn't cost a lot for them (compared to developing a new game) would be to get a team to convert FPS games from last gen to use the Aim Controller and PSVR. They'd use the extra grunt of the PS4 to up the framerate for games like Killzone 2/3 and Resistance 3. I would love that. The don't even need to improve the visuals, just clean up the IQ and I'd be happy.

If they could get something like a new CoD on PSVR and Aim Controller from day 1, that'd be a huge get, but I don't see that happening.

Resistance and Killzone Trilogy HD collections with PSVR and Aim support would be pretty neat. But just like with WipEout, the cost of making it VR compatible probably would still be too high in their opinion.

New question!

How do you manage to play now with VR with the hot temperatures?

I had the bad idea to starting playing again in VR by a couple of weeks but it's starting to get hot here... 25-30°C....

PSVR is comfortable, but I can play 30m then I start to sweat a lot and I have to stop...

I have no air conditioner lol, and to put a fan near me looks like a bad idea if I'm covered on sweat... also would fuck up the VR sensation to be there probably...

The should build in a cooling system on the headset! lol

I need to finish RE7 at least, then I will take a break I fear... :(

I will definitely want something like that in the next version, I don't care if it is some kind of external fan thing using a pipe, the comfort factor for me is more important than being completely wireless.

When it was hot here (Southern hemisphere) I used a $10 AC powered desk fan )bought from Kmart or Target - can't remember) a couple of times. I sweat a lot and the airflow was enough to flow through the gaps in the rubber to whisk the sweat away and cool me down.

A fan is actually really good for keeping cool and immersion (at least I find) for VR - especially if you're driving or flying..

Nah. it wouldn't. I've found that a fan actually adds to the immersion for me in some games. flying or driving or just being "outside" in the game. It works.

Edit: Poster above me beat me to it ;-)

So I got my PSVR today. Finally got it all setup with cables out of sight and neatly routed, and just got to playing about 2 hours ago. This is so fucking cool. God bless Sony for actually making this tech affordable.

One question: I have it pugged into my OG PS4 (CUH-1200). The console has always been silent, however I can now hear a gentle woosh of air. If the PSVR headset is on, it's quite an audible woosh. If I turn the headset off, it quiets down a bit but is still audible. Is this the PU or does the PS4 fan run louder with the PU connected?

Just pre-ordered Star Trek, After completing Farpoint( which was 2nd to resi 7 for best experience in VR) I am looking forward to another adventure in VR, My friend also got it so we'll be doing it in Co-op, Looking forward too it!

Welcome to the family. It's the PU.

Cancelled my physical pre order of star trek. But I think I'll get it on the weekend of the 9th when the buy for 100 get 15 back thing starts.

My copy is Star Trek has been dispatched for delivery tomorrow. Ordered it last year for a measly £18. Farpoint, now Star Trek and Arizona Sunshine soon. PSVR just keeps giving. Looking forward to a bumper E3.

Just got off PSVR support, very good rep attended me. Haven't laughed with support that much in a while. Anyway they'll be soon shipping the empty box so they can service my PSVR, now to play the waiting game. Only good thing about this is now I can wait for when the Farpoint bundle comes back in stock to distract me about not having a PSVR T-T

Dick Wild is awesome with VR Aim !
Watched John Wick 2 last night and had some remains from the movie tonight while playing :D
Very natural to play, aim, dodging is very physical and the game is a good work out !

So i was looking at the 360 videos on youtube.. They say hd/4k but they don't look as clear as I'd hope.. Is that just the limitations of the headset?

I am nw experiencing wobble whenever I turn to the sides. It doesn't matter if I turn to the left or right. I never experienced this before. Anyone got a solution to this?

The Youtube app streams whichever resolution it thinks will stop buffering, however this never works, I'm on a 250mb/20mb connection and the videos are a blocky mess.

I wish you could choose your resolution just like on phones or chrome etc...

Tried the PSVR for the first time today.
Played Rigs, Driveclub, Thumper, Until Dawn and Batman.
Holy shit am I a believer! The moment I started up Rigs and was in that garage it hit me, it totally felt like I was there. I really wish VR succeeds and keeps on improving, as right now I think the graphics might be the biggest challenge, give me better graphics and a slightly better way to control games and it'll be fucking nuts! Batman was incredible! I actually felt like someone was standing right there when I brought up the model viewer, in fact I kind of jumped when I selected Nightwing's attack pose and his electric poles made a noise. I want more.

Edit: Oh and best thing: I never felt any motion sickness! Yay!

So happy to read this!

My PSVR arrives Wed. Any starter games I should get? It comes with the "demo" disc and I have plans for Until Dawn, Batman and RE7 any other insane(fun or scary) games, is there any cool mountain climbing or rollercoasters? Sticking to all digital.

I went on a spending spree this afternoon. Got the headset holder all-in-one charger , hdmi coupler, new storage cubicle to put the headset holder in(and Funko Pops) =P

is Rez a game you can play sitting, or do you stand up and use all of the environment around you?

You can play this sitting down, no problem. There is only one boss that has you look behind you. Other than that everything takes place right in front of you.

Highly recommended, Area X (which unlocks after you beat the game or after 1 hour of playtime iirc) is a mind blowing experience!!

The entire scene (everything in front, behind, to the sides, above and below) has be be squeezed into that HD or 4K frame. As you're only ever looking at a small part of that when you look around, the number of pixels you see at any one time is small.

It's not a problem with the headset, it's a limitation of the way 360 video is captured and displayed. 8K should eventually make things better.

For an idea of how good VR footage can be when produced using other methods, check out Sony's Joshua Bell VR experience on the PS Store.

Like a jittery motion? I've had that twice. It went away when I turned off power to the PU and then restarted it.

Playroom VR, it's free, and it's damn fun. But You will need friends to play it (just one game is also SP)

Then Batman if you like the character and have 2 moves is fantastic.

Until Dawn is a rollercoaster horror game, very fun, better with 2 moves.

I liked a lot Wayward Sky, a short adventure with puzzles, really nice graphic.

Allumette is a short film, it's free.

RE7 demo is nice, but you should just buy the game if you love horrors, it's the best VR game available.

Thumper is psychedelic experience, try it.

If you have Battlefront there is the free XWING VR mission to play, or you can download from the store the free standalone COD space mission, both are fun space ship simulation.

These are my suggestions, I leaved out some games on purpose depending on my tastes and experiences...

Oh at the start you could need some time to find the sweet spot on how to put the helmet, just play with it until you find the better position and ask here for advices, and please have a nice pair of hearphones to use with it, it changes a lot the experience.

Don't worry if the first times you have more difficulty on the "sickness" side, I never felt really bad, but the first times I felt much more fatigue and also a bit of headache, lol. Never happened again... :p

I was interested in thumper. Might check out some more videos of it. Have you tried Eve Valkryie ? The reviews seem positive but read the microtransctions hurt it in mp.

I was showing my Brother and Father VR yesterday and put on Headmaster, was fantastic to watch peoples reaction to their first use of VR, every time the ball rolled back to their feet both would try and kick it away.

PS Farpoint is excellent, the aim controller is a fantastic device!

I'm really starting to consider jumping into PSVR. I still only have the OG PS4, what do you guys think? Is the experience really much better with a pro? I just can't really afford both right now :(

As a ps4 pro user I can't see the difference people claim they see.

imo it is 99.9999% the same experience.
