I mean I'm perfectly fine with what we got since Sojiro is great but yooooo, I can't stop imagining what could've been now
Yeah. I want apartment building Persona, thinking about it.

But honestly, I prefer the idea if Sae/Makoto, Iwai, Kawakami, and such were your neighbors, rather than living with Sae.

Could be like P3 dorm only with non-group neighbors.

Idk. Could've made different and fresh slice of life for the series.

Since we're going in this direction.

Hah, saw this the other day. Cute!

Damn, I'd have thought that going through NG+ would only reaffirm Makoto as the one true waifu... but it's made me question it even more.

Futaba and Haru are both such good candidates as well. Haru is especially too sweet and innocent for this world. Aghh!

Makoto is just "experimenting" once she goes to college she's totally dumping Joker.

Yeah, Makoto is in pretty deep and is pretty staid in her ways to boot. Sure, things could go south but generally she's presented as one that keeps, from her dad's moisturizer, to her ideals, to her pencil case, to you.

Plus it is damn obvious from the date scenes (and the conversation about her dad and his passion) that she feels more than she lets on explicitly.

Her relationship is about finding a partner as much as it is about finding someone to open herself and the world up to her.

Her looking for a "study partner" is her being coy and embarassed and unexpressive and trying to avoid the issue. Just as when she sneaks your number and signs you up as her fake boyfriend without your say-so. She's trying not to broach the issue while also trying to push something to happen. And she is always embarassed/sheepish about it after the fact (which is how she feels about her passions). It isn't literally an experiment where she's taking volunteers.

...

But it is an interesting issue...

I dated Rise in P4 and that is a relationship I saw falling through eventually after she returned to being an idol. Both because a boyfriend is explicitly what she was looking for and because an idol career is not kind to relationships.

The way I saw it, Rise was (at first) into MC as eligible, generic boyfriend she wanted to have. She became an idol because she wanted to reach out to people and found it lacking. She stopped being an idol again to reach out to people and have a certain experience she wanted, which included a boyfriend. Couple that with a desire to "work her wiles" and there is a certain falseness to her approach and the MC sort of thwarts this falseness in a mix of getting her to open up as a person and not falling for a lot of her ploys. This both confuses and frustrates her and makes her actually come around to loving the dude, but I imagine dating her would very much be the "high school dating experience" and you'd never really break through all her issues and that it is telling she comes around to idoling again, as if she had accomplished what she'd set out to do with you already.

Did folks get their 100% compendium (minus Satanael) during their first playthrough or in NG+?

100

I did first playthrough but you need a max SL run, two specific Mementos requests and probably use of the Reaper Trick for levels and Request boss confuse trick for money. You'll only naturally manage it on NG+ if yoy accrue enough money to do it via special treatment.

You know in your heart it's Haru. Don't fight it. Just accept.

I was actually surprised by how committed Makoto seemed to keeping things going in the future. I feel like the previous games were much more "well our time is over see ya lol" when it came to relationships. It was nice to have some of the characters explicitly state that they wanted to stay in the relationship after you moved back.

Yeah. The entire Valentine Day scene with Makoto is about commitment. She gives you music notes if you tell her to prepare it homemade next year. And for the more direct affirmation of commitment.

(haven't seen the other Valentine days).

And then when you say good-bye it is all "you'll have more of me than you can handle." (last day)

I've noted that as well, and it wasnt just Makoto. Did Harem in new game plus and basically every relationship partner has a lot of lines about how

Besides on Valentine's day, a few are especially clear about it on the final day

I missed the first line of Makoto's in my screenshotting, but I have the second, as well as Futaba's

And I got the same impression from P4G as well, so this touch was appreciated

Has anybody even bothered to do the Caroline and Justine social link? I did it once then stopped. Lol

It opens up fusions and its final skill is really useful towards full compendium.

Also isn't as annoying since you can choose inheritances. Although if you don't have a grasp of what you'd need for multi-step fusions or use a guide you end up using the "kill persona" method, which reverts you back to the old days.

Can't choose between Makoto and Tae.

Atlus pls... ;____;

I hate being in-between like that in these games. Hate it in real life too (where I just avoid the situation until they move on :p).

So much better when I find myself actually wanting one of the girls rather than finding them all attractive but not being all in on any.

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.

Maxxed that shit out. Made the overall story of the game feel more complete.

At 10, you can fuse persona higher leveled than you if you pay for it, so they're worth it.

Also this. Got level 83 Raphael early cause of this, and it was awesome.

Kinda lost a little bit of respect for Futaba when she blatantly calls Mishima a "NPC" in her social link. I was like... Jeez. The guy is already a punching bag and has a messed up past. Leave him alone. Tease "Inari" all you want but don't be a savage to Mishima like that.

I still think Futaba is awesome though. But why do we hafta buy stuff for her when she doesn't even battle with monsters???
Counterpoint: Mishima sucks and deserves every roast he gets.

TFW I was rank 9 with Makoto on the last day in a relationship and then the
point of no return was the very next day.
I was already with Ann prior and stuck with her. I like both but Mako Chan is a lot cooler so I wanted her >.<

I blame the stupid charm 5 requirement. :)

It was a short soap opera with squicky romances. I find soap operas funny but these are characters people care about and it was probably too irreverent, morbid, and over-developed. In fairness to Aters, in case you didn't get to see it, I probably shouldn't have posted it, so it's gone.

At rank 10 they remove the level restriction on fusion. I ended up making a Siegfried at level 51 which was pretty fun. I like Bugs and Seth as well, which are both personas you make for them.

I see a lot of love for Makoto in this thread (who I eventually went with) but I almost went the Hifumi route. I hit rank 10 with her anyway.

I never got the social skills to spend time with Haru so she toils away endlessly on the roof of the school. Maybe I'll check her out on NG+ when I get there.
