TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

alisa is a nightmare when there's no lag. pokes and safe hits everywhure. yeah howa with lag is a nightmare.

Alisa's annoying but she is fairly straightforward.

Hwo's style is extremely complex.I have no concept on how to deal with him.

The safe part isn't an issue. The problem is that it's mid. Both Jin and Steve have safe supers but they are high and can be ducked.
But since hwo has to be in a stance to do his super i guess being a safe mid is ok -_-

He's in a stance almost all the time.

Not to mention his twitchy style is just insanely difficult to deal with.

And the armor moves they added to him make that much more difficult to deal with him.

Like I know full well 99% of these lucky Chloe's aren't thinking about what they're doing, just mashing a combination of 3 and 4 at random intervals. Aka the tekken 3 Eddy Gordo strat.

But it's a game of is this mid or low? Fuck knows.

Oh she's done a flip that must be punishab...oh wait.

It's a case of going into training and fucking around with her for 5 minutes and I'll have them totally sussed out, but I begrudge even doing that because she annoys me so much.

Cool seeing Aris gaining popularity

He pretty much is the Tekken Channel now
Teach these noobs wise Ingrid

Ya it's weird seeing him with 7k people watching. I thought him hitting 2k regularly was impressive, this is just insane. He's doing great work introducing people to the game though, he deserves it.

I thought Aris stream numbers would've gone back down, but hes been consistently getting 6-7k viewers since T7 release, crazy. He deserves it though.

I feel you homie, it is frustrating right now. Myself I'm just going to lab it up and continue to educate myself on how to play and hit some more treasure hunt for gear.

Need the patch.

That's what I've been doing. And given how my two online matches went, I definitely need more lab time haha. My inexperience with Tekken really showed.

Hwoarang in this game is insanely mind numbing.

Extremely difficult to fight against. What a nightmare.

And why the fuck does he have a safe super out of the entire cast..

I've played hwoarang since T3 and TTT but missed out on T6and TTT2 due to the poor net code and the death of arcades where I live.
I've been playing T7 since the steam launch and hwo is much more well rounded now.
He is really meant for advanced players and thus needs to work much harder to deal damage.

If you're having trouble... You should try to pressure hwoarang so he can't get out his bread and butter mix-up game. If your trying to play defensively against him you'll likely get destroyed

BTW I'm novagt on Steam Tekken 7 if I've ever played against you

Any Nina mains on here? I was watching this video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O4l2MLyYbNo
and was trying to suss out how the Nina player was doing those instant 2s and moving immediately afterward. It seems like a pretty slick move combining crouch canceling and Korean dash, but I'm not sure the exact inputs.
its her SS+1. SS+1 is a section in of itself for nina as far as applications and pressure goes.
what he's doing is
(SS+1~b~u) sidestep 1, cancelled into backsway, cancelled into sidestep.
more info about SS+1 here http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/wiki/Tekken_Tag_Tournament_2/Nina/Nina_SS+1
and nina (and bryan and paul) have another technique that isnt korean backdash but is still a movement option. The technique is cancelling a back sway into sidestep, it's chainable and is the reason nina has the SS+1 tool.
(qcb~u)

Does this apply to every move that has more than one directional input before an attack besides just frame moves? New to Tekken and am playing Hwoarang, this seems to work for everything except JFRS.

just about. it's even useful for regular standing 1s as holding forward then pressing 1 will give you a mini step and make your jab come out that much more closer to the opponent, which can be useful in combos.

Yeah, just about. It's one of those things to learn that instantly makes the games execution barriers drop a bit

I need to learn what quick pokes Yoshi has to get him out of pressure that's safe on block (edit: the opponent's hits are I mean in case it isn't clear). I'm still in the d/f+4 mindset but that doesn't seem to be the quickest option anymore and I keep eating hits whenever players are in my face.
I'm too lazy for practice mode.

I have to work just as hard to actually defend and not get destroyed by Hwo lol.

Pressuring him is not easy with his launcher armor moves.

I am not steam btw only on ps4 btw.

Steve is also a difficult match.

Yeah, I'd love to know some fast attacks too...I'll be going through the frame data looking for it as most of the moves I know are a tad slower than what everyone else puts out, so I have to keep space between us. Other characters can just keep throwing out punches.

Even my back + 1 (square) spinning thing, which is fast, comes out a tad too slow compared to other characters. I know the 1+4 move is super fast but that's just defensive, and hard to get the timing of right.

Yeah, can't abuse the flash anymore. It used to have a fairly wide window.

Also I hope they do a few more intro and outro animations during a fight that we can unlock for the characters.

Well, I guess not at the expense of other additions...but if they've got animators sitting there doing nothing much...

Any scrub wanna play against a scrub like me on Steam? Add me.

I would but I'm in London, not sure about the lag to Puerto Rico. We can give it a try, will play some later today maybe, definitely tomorrow.

---also, really sweet gif SunhiLegend, nice.

I knew about Bryan backsway cancels, but I didn't know Nina's had such application. Time to hit the lab and get this consistently.

Thank you for this.

Anyone up for some casual psn matches? I've been practicing a couple chars and want to play some people. Would love to get a decent room going. Anyone down?

It is not useless at all and incredibly dangerous even, next you're gonna tell me her AOP stance is also bad. And I'm pretty sure her rage drive is one of the best in the game.

I didn't say it's useless, but if you're in a bad spot where you would actually want to use rage drive, you don't want your back turned to someone who is going to try to poke you to death. But hey, I'm not a Tekken god. I suppose it's possible to do the rage drive out of a combo, but I'm not that sophisticated yet.
