Sony would basically fuck over all the people who bought the pro aka their most loyal fanbase for the most part.

I have a Pro.. I'd be ecstatic for a console with a ryzen cpu.

If you bought a Pro, I'd assume higher fidelity is important to you. It's targeting a specific customer base. The base that wants the very best possible... at the moment that's 4k60.

Destiny 2 was showcased on PC at 4k60. People who played/saw it couldn't stop raving about the experience. Consoles could obtain that in 2018. I want that experience. I'd prefer a console but I'd move to PC if I have to.

But samsung and lg may launch a 5k tv (ces2018) before sony and panasonic launch 8k. Shouldn't the next ps console be focusing on 5k30 now that we know 5k is coming. Not trying to bust your chops but where does it end. Is ddr6 available for mass production? What are its pros and cons over ddr5? Its not as simple as some people would suggest

I'd love a console that would focus on 60fps rather than resolution, seriously, this 4k/5k/8k shit has got to stop.

They may as well just announce a PlayStation-themed high-end PC.

Sounds amazing.

That's the point of a ryzen based console. 60fps.

edit- I also agree on options. If you want to play at 1080p60 with super sampled uber ultra graphics settings over 4k60... you should be given the choice

Any game can be 60fps on any console as long as developers prioritise it. This isn't a hardware issue, it's just the fact that developers don't see it as necessary for all games. Simple as that.

Microsoft fans are just excited, and they deserve to be. Sony has killing it for years, and it's nice that MS is doing something better than Sony to excite their dedicated fans.
Yea lol, good for them that they have something to rally around. As a PlayStation fan with a decent pc, there is absolutely no reason for me to pick one up but I can definitely see the appeal if someone is an Xbox fan and prefers their exclusives and the prospect of playing the best version of multi platform games if they are not a pc gamer to begin with.

Yeah, agreed. I don't even own an Xbone anymore (I sold mine for a Switch), but Im more excited for the Xbox conference because MS has a lot to prove, it's almost no or never for them.

I do have a gaming PC, PS4 and a Switch, so I do own the holy trifecta. The reason I sold my Xbone was because I never used it, among the reasons was because MS started releasing their games on PC so I didn't need it.

So truly the only thing that can make me rebuy a Xbox or Scorpio is that MS stops releasing their games on PC and then shows enough new fresh compelling games.

So indeed, the the reason Im more excited for the Xbox conferense is becasue they have a lot to prove.

Consoles are fully capable of 60 fps games. Many devs simply prioritize graphics because that's what sells.

In some games, yeah, however CPU is more often than not bottlenecking much stronger GPU inside consoles and that's especially apparent in open world games, besides, they could always offer us a choice.

I picked up the holy trinity yesterday; Persona 5, Nioh and Gravity Rush 2. Which should I play in anticipation of the press conference? Nier is also in the backlog.

Reverse order. Once you start persona, you ain't looking back lol unless the game doesn't grab you at all.

You're forgetting about one game though...

I get your point but releasing a more poweful hardware that will cost more doesnt translate to them doing better than Sony. There is a bigger picture here.
I never said MS is overall doing things better. I was just saying that MS is doing at least some things better than Sony and it's great to see MS fans excited about it.

let go of DMC guys.

Sure if people can let go of Dead Rising 4, Marvel vs. Capcom 4 and Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Oh, wait...

Itsuno has worked on Dragons Dogma and lastly wasn't the head director of DMC since 2008. With the path they are taking w/ MH he is the BEST and ONLY person at Capcom to properly deliver a westernized MH. You guys need to let GO of DMC for now. Relax lol

Dragon's Dogma was his dream project that he'd been planning since 2000, that he himself pitched. And he's still the "head director of DMC". He was supervising director on DmC and DmC DE, and director on DMC4SE. DMC is his.

Capcom has MH teams, plural. There's no reason why they'd put Itsuno on one.

No, because DMC5 never has been announced or teased. And we don't have any clue from Capcom that lead us to think that is going to be announced this year. As of now it only exists in the mind of the DMC fans.

We only know that Capcom may show a big new game (it can be anything and we have more chances to see Resident Evil 2 Remake or Monster Hunter: World) and that people liket Itsuno or Ninja Theory attached to Devil May Cry is obviously working in new games (as they always did but also worked in many other series and new IPs so it doesn't mean they need to be working on DMC5).

Capcom has a ton of big IPs and obbiously they may bring back one of them, but it can be DMC or can be anything else, from Final Fight to Dragon Dogma, from Onimusha to Ghost & Goblins, etc. Or he also may be working on a debut of a brand new series, beause Istuno worked in the first entry of many of them.

We know Itsuno is working on a new title that he's announcing this year. We know that Capcom projected new DMC releases by the end of FY 2017, the same with SF, RE, DR, MH and "other" franchises. Since then we've seen RE7, Dead Rising 4, and SFV released, and RE2 Remake and MvC Infinite announced. We know that DMC HD Collection and DMC4SE sold well. We know that DMC4SE came out two years ago, and that Capcom has a roughly 2.5 year release plan for sequels.

Capcom has five big IPs, DMC being one. They're not jumping on Dragon's Dogma or Rival Schools before DMC.

I wonder if Sony will release a further upgraded PS4.. ryzen apu in 1Q 2018 is doable

Sony would basically fuck over all the people who bought the pro aka their most loyal fanbase for the most part.

Sony never marketed the Pro as anything other than a definitive version of the PS4 that has just enough extra power to display impressive results on a 4K television set, so it should not be too surprising if they announce PlayStation 5 for holiday 2018. History should have informed Pro buyers that generations typically last 5 years before entirely new hardware is introduced. That said, do I expect them to announce new hardware? Nah. They will probably give Scorpio some time to determine how it affects their market share.

Too many pages so forgive me if this has been asked already but: what are the chances of seeing FW 5.0 at E3? Or do you think they'll show it off at gamescom?
I mean we've only just recently got 4.50 so I guess no mention of 5.0 at E3.

They wont announce firmware update at the conference. At best, a blog post with all the details.

Duuude, that's a nice trinity to have.

play the last guardian if you haven't yet

There is a lot of salt in this thread about Scorpio. If mean, if you're one of those console warriors, you still have sales and a lot of exclusives to throw in the faces of other gamers that couldn't care less.

People talk as he only worked in or only can work on DMC or Dragon Dogma, but Itsuno also worked in series like Rival Schools, Power Stone, Star Gladiator, Capcom vs SNK, Street Fighter Alpha, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and more. So he can also be working on a brand new IP, the first chapter of a subseries of a known IP or the sequel of many other series where he already worked on, as he always did.

lmao

Yeah, Itsuno is going to work on Star Gladiator and Rival Schools before DMC. I don't think DMC fans are the ones talking crazy around here.
