Wolfenstein II: The New Order: The alternate reality Nazi 60s seems neat but The Man in the High Castle did all of this over the last two years (including the "people on LSD during a nazi occupation" thing)

woah hang on there pal there's a limit on how wrong you can be

They literally could've put all of these announcements in Microsoft and Sony's conferences and added the Switch Skyrim to Nintendo's video.

Like what the fuck was the point? I honestly feel like there was something else they were going to show, like a Starfield, but for whatever reason had to bail last minute or something.

I miss the old E3's. Nowadays its just about sequels and online multiplayer. Well at least Skyrim for switch is out this year...

Bethesda 2/10
EA 4/10 (for some reason people keep forgetting BF2 and BF2 trumps either of the games shown at Bethesda, NFS looked good too)
Microsoft 7/10 (new console/Anthem/Forza)

I'm a little surprised by the reception. I can understand if you didn't like the presentation choice but in terms of content this is pretty much exactly how their last two went: Two significant announcements, DLC/Service games, fresh look at announced games.

My E3 of Dreams.

New Dishonored, new Evil Within, and new Wolfenstein.

My rating so far

EA: 2/5 - A Way Out saved it's ass from a 0.
Microsoft: 2/5 - Thanks for showing me the games I can pick up later on PS4.
Bethesda: 2/5 - The new Wolfenstein looks like some good fun.

Pretty much.

This is shaping up to be the worst E3.

The show was OK. Wish we saw more about Skyrim on the Switch. Amiibo support was cool at least. Wonder if it'll support mods.

The Evil Within 2 looked great. Not enough gameplay shown but what was shown was full of "Nope!" moments.

Wolfenstein also looked great. I really need to finish the first one. Wonder if they are going to shoot for 60fps on console again. Looked impressive.

Why would you not do that as a youtube video rather than a conference with an (alleged) stage presenter? The audience didn't seem all that interested in anything anyway

I do agree that this could have easily been a 30 minute Nintendo Direct-style video presentation and nothing meaningful would have been lost.

Yeah I feel bad for the people that went to see that in person. It was half stuff that came out already and then over quick.

I think rather than just putting the stuff on YouTube they could have shown the, on stage with Sony or Microsoft to get a bigger splash maybe.

Boring conference that felt ultimately unnecessary with a few highlights

Dishonored 2 expandalone looks great

Wolfenstein looks great

QUake great

Everything else didn't feel particularly new or impressive

Can't help but feel something got cut at the last minute.

I felt as if even Pete knew it was a disappointing conference.

At least Wolfenstein looked fucking spectacular.

Yeah. His mannerism changed at the end with his nervous "acid" joke.

Wolfenstein gameplay looked great but the presentation wasn't the right place for so many cutscenes. Wasn't paced well.

Overall a bad showcase (although Wolfenstein looks great)

I absolutely agree with those statements.

What here at all deserved its own conference?

Wolfenstein The New Colossus, and Evil Within 2, deserved their own conference as much as Fallout 4 and Doom. It would have just been nice to get a dev out to talk about the games and not just a quick trailer, like they did with Fallout 4. It was more presentation than content.

I would bump Beth up 2 for two very solid games and cool DLC, and knock down MS down 1 for doing a poor job selling their new console.

People thought this conference was better than Microsoft's? What?

Not too long, two of the games showed (TEW2 and Wolfenstein) are best of show right now, presentation wasn't boring and no 499$. MS showed 0 game that could only be played on Xbox much less their new hardware. It was a catastrophic failure.

This presentation is honestly the high point of E3 so far IMO. Great format, decent showing of games and excellent pacing. Only part that was weak was the VR stuff, but hey they still leading the pack and didnt show us any vaporware.

Those 2 combined equaled less than 20 minutes of content.

Those trailers could have easily been put in other conferences. Bethesda did not earn their own conference this year imo.

Very very very poor presentation despite how great the last 2 games looked

Im curious what people here are now expecting from sony? Alot of it will be stuff seen already.

ND is going to show the uncharted dlc before going deep into ANYTHING TLOU related.

The only thing that will really be a head turner is FROM SOFT's next project

BF2 looks good but the micro transactions put me off.

People called Romanes they go the house?

TBH Bethesda prob doesn't want to 'stop' having a conference now that they've split off into their own thing.

If they stopped, people would start muttering, and the stock holders wouldn't be pleased.

Not sure what everyone here expected out of the smallest publisher with an E3 show who just released DOOM, Dishonored 2, Prey, and TES: Morrowind within the last year.

Overall, I'd go with a 7/10.

Cons
-Morrowind reaction video, had almost no nostalgia factor, cringeworthy "reacts to" videos
-Quake Champions real life people talking... let the game advertise itself, it's had great impressions from the beta!
-TES: Legends - really wish they weren't doing this at all
-DOOM VR doesn't really mix well with the franchise
- No Prey survival mode announcement

Pros
+Kid intro was cute
+I actually liked the Bethesdaland theme
+Dishonored 2 DLC with Daud and the Outsider
+Fallout 4 VR looked like it could be a good implementation
+The Evil Within trailer was fantastic
+Wolfenstein trailer was even better

Why in the world did they even need a stage for this? They basically did a Nintendo Direct but with a guy pointlessly walking onto a stage at the beginning and end.

Bethesda simply does not have enough content to show off for a press conference. And it was a very short conference!

There were two announcements worthy of a conference -- the final two trailers. And they could have been shown at Microsoft or Sony.

VR: Boring and uninformative presentation -- but let's take a moment to point out that Bethesda employed most of the main people involved in creating modern VR, said they didn't care about VR, let those people work on VR in their spare time, then when those people quit and wanted to work on VR full-time, Bethesda sued them for "stealing" their IP (that they didn't care about) and now they're trying to do VR launches of their year+ old content? Oh, and they also just recently C&Ded an indie team with a game name that contained the word Prey because ????? Bethesda is a shitty company

Oh, also Pete Hines is an awful presenter who can't read a teleprompter and isn't funny why exactly does Bethesda have an E3 show? While I'm at it, the music and graphics for the theme park interstitials are awful and don't fit their content at all.

Skyrim Morrowind: Yes, this is already out and we already know about it, but thanks for showing YouTube reaction videos of the CG announcement trailer????

Paid Mods 2: Electric Boogaloo: This looks worse than the paid mod system they tried to launch 5 years ago on Steam.

Expansion to Hearthstone: Who cares

Skyrim Switch: I guess it's neat but this is like the 10th release of a 6 or 7 year old game now?

Expansion to Dishonored 2: This CG trailer looked OK, I guess?

The Evil Within 2: Kinda hard to get a handle on what the game is, honestly, but the weird genre-switching Duran Duran cover was weird. I guess this didn't look bad?

Wolfenstein II: The New Order: The alternate reality Nazi 60s seems neat but The Man in the High Castle did all of this over the last two years (including the "people on LSD during a nazi occupation" thing)

Overall 0/10; total waste of 40 minutes, no reason they couldn't just put the last three trailers on YouTube or whatever.

yeh I wouldnt really call it a conference lol
