I almost felt like Microsoft's press conference had too many games. They showed a ton of trailers but few had anything substantial. By the end of the conference I could barely remember any of them. I'm expecting the opposite from Sony. No where near as many games but longer trailers/demos for them. If their press conference does go for 2 hours I don't think they'll completely ignore indies like last year.

Yeah, personally, it's less about the number of games, but the number of exclusive titles.

Multiplatform is nice and all, but in this day and age where most multiplatform games are being released on almost every system, having exclusives differentiates one system from others.

People buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo titles after all.

The reason why I think Sony's conference will be long is because they have so much. I don't know about 2 hours but they have a lot.

1. God Of War
2. Spider-Man
3. Destiny 2
4. Uncharted: Lost Legacy
5. Call Of Duty
6. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite
7. Days Gone
8. GTS

And that's just off the top of my head and not including unannounced stuff. Those are all safe as they come bets and a few of those will have a nice chunk of stage time.

Also likely Battlefront 2 campaign demo, Detroit demo, wildcard RDR2 demo.

The difference in number of exclusives between Sony and Microsoft really is staggering.

It seems as if most of the games people are listing are already known/revealed games. There has to a few new IPs/sequels also though right?

Man, the only thing I'm nervous about today is..the fucking YouTube app on PS4 working for the conference. lol

It was DOA for me for Keighley s Gaming stuff and the Xbox conference for some reason.

Yeah same, could not get YouTube gaming stream working at all on my PS4 YouTube app, yet every other stream instantly worked and in 1080p quality...

I think it's safe to say there'll be some big unannounced 3rd party game revealed like Resident Evil 7 last year. Something not too shocking but nice to know it's coming.

On PC Microsoft's press conference was on YouTube Gaming and I kept getting some weird stuttering every now and then. The other conferences on normal YouTube worked perfectly.

Any roundup of those last pages?

Been ot of the loop for a while only to come back and see SotC being mentioned as a possibility. WTF guys?

Someone said it was getting remade.

Edit: or something to that nature

At the moment, Sucker Punch (if they're even there) or Spider-Man I think open the show, unless somehow they really do have a From game ready.

Also likely Battlefront 2 campaign demo, Detroit demo, wildcard RDR2 demo.

Yeah, they have so much to choose from and much of it is exclusive and even first party. Plus any of the surprises we don't even know about yet and the wild card of other Japanese games.

I can easily see Sony putting uncharted & mvc on the pre show. GTS confirmed to be on pre show by Kaz himself.

Man E3 has been pretty tame for me so far this year. Hoping Sony can save it tomorrow morning.

Skipping my surgical lectures tomorrow morning to watch Sony's conference because videogames are more important.

AGREED.

That, er, well, with the first part at least. :p

I've been completely underwhelmed by the openers in every press conference so far. Even if Ubisoft opens with Just Dance again it'll still be better than any other openers so far.

Do you think we'll get an initial tease of the PS5? Obviously not releasing until March 2019 at the earliest, but still.

They'd literally shoot themselves in the foot if they began to seriously talk about the successor to the PS4 right now. Especially with the year it's currently having.

It's gotta be informally announced at some point though. Perhaps not E3 though, for reasons you've mentioned.

NOPE. They JUST released the ps4 Pro and they are in the strongest position since the PS2. Xbox just recommitted to current gen with xboxox so what reason could they possibly have to reshuffle the deck ?

Doubtful, my guess is we won't see a PS5 teaser til PSX 2018, proper reveal E3 2019, Release late 2019, big game blowout at PSX 2019.

Microsoft had their chance to really build up the anticipation for Xbox One X's release, but all they showed was multiplats, a high price and "games run better". Sony won't rush to show anything to do with their next console if that's all their main competition brings to the table.

Sure, but I wouldn't expect them to mention it at all until they're ready to begin transitioning to it as their main platform. That's what they did with the PS4. That console obviously ended up being announced and released in the same year. The PS4 had momentum right now, so they wouldn't want to dampen that in any way by telling people that they had its successor on the way.

Every now and then, some posters seem to get over-excited and just say "Shadow of the Colossus Remake". There isn't a single rumour on any corner of the internet about it happening so unless one of the 2-3 posters that mentioned it is an insider then there's no weight behind it happening.

I was a little (just a little) more excited for the MS conference because of Scorpio and the complete unknown surrounding their first party line-up. But there was a reason it was a complete unknown!

Now I'm insanely excited for this. It's going to be brutal here in the UK but I'm going to watch it. I always, always do.

But does it start at 1AM or 2AM BST, I'm getting conflicting reports.

Pre-show at 1am, show actual at 2.

The keynote starts at 4am here so im gonna try and go to bed at 8pm and wake up at 3:30am. Wish me luck.

Set your alarm for 3:55, that's at least enough time for a quick trip to the toilet before it starts :)

What's the pre-show in this scenario? You mean just the thing where the IGN peeps chat before it begins, or is it something official this year from Sony?

Official but essentially the same thing. Sid Shuman and co. chatting shit about what they hope to see and recapping last year's stuff.

Something about Crash Bandicoot will be shown during the pre-show as well as a 30m block dedicated to GTS. There should be some other stuff there as well as a Sony employee said that they highly recommend tuning it for it and Yoshida retweeted it.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I'll be putting up the OT 30 mins before the actual conference (not pre-conference).

I'm kinda fatigued on Detroit. It's hard not to count the original Tech Demo as a showing and I also feel like there is nothing more I need to see, last years demo was great and set the stage for release. I definately would be ok for it to be shown outside of the main stage.

Gran Turismo is another one that at this point would be just a waste of time (even more so) to use stage time, people know the deal and will seek out the new trailer and videos outside of the conference anyway. Good to hear it seemingly will be not on stage.

I don't think other games from Sony this year really have this problem yet.

edit: Oh, and I DEFINATELY am fatigued of SFV if the Super Street Fighter V rumour happens on stage. It got so much time on previous conferences with Ono antics that I'd rather just move on.

Had to wake up at 5:30 to catch MS Conference today so feeling drowsy already. Luckily, Sony's E3 won't start until 10 JST tomorrow. It's Nintendo show that's the worst starting at 1AM the next day

Fatigued on Detroit?! I still feel like that game is shrouded in mystery and we know hardly anything about it. Which isn't a bad thing, but it would be nice to see a bit more of it on stage (with a release date attached).

I feel David Cage games are the sort that don't really need too many trailers for themselves. Last years showing was excellent and at this point I'm ready just for the release date.

yeah it might be in a gameplay trailer - it doesn't need to be shown at E3.

I kind of wish they get back to dark sorcerer also. That was amazing

I assume you mean FFVII, otherwise Square suddenly learned how to develop games at light speed.

yeah lol
