Sony E3 Conference confirmed for usual time (Monday 6pm PT)

I hate how somehow backwards compatibility has become this huge selling point some people can't get over rather than the small appendix/side note i believe it should be. It just comes off as a crutch to me. I don't know, i find it really hard to believe playing several years old games is a major motivation when buying a new console.

for clarification, i think BC is good, and a welcome plus. i just don't believe it to be as important as its been made out to be recently.
its fanboy war nonsense. B/C is good, great even, MS should be applauded for giving fans some added value, it's not a megaton, and most Xbox owners would rather have an E3 show like Sony's 2016 with a bunch of brand new AAA exclusives. Lets them fan the flames though, too much goodness to worry about that crap.

I do hope Sony kills it again though, kinda my only hope now didn't really like the Xbox conference much and Nintendo is not going to be that long, so just expecting one new game from them really.

-No new Fromsoft ARPG today
-absolutely 0 chance of a Fromsoft made Bloodborne 2 anytime soon
-Highly unlikely we see Armored Core today either, but im open to being surprised on that one though.

Got a message from source today. Didn't get a wink or a nod about anything happening today, so I think 2018 will be the big Fromsoft blow out with potentially multiple title announcements.

Please no. Give me some concept art at least.

Thanks for this, I like having a heads up so I can lower my expectations before the show and have a great time.

Hoping to see God of War, Spiderman, and Sucker Punch especially. Not sure what else to expect, but those 3 alone would be pretty great!

Battlefront 2 SP will be a pretty sweet bonus as well.

so, in essence, you know nothing (Jon Snow)? Because how can you be so sure about the first 2 points but up in the air w/ the 3rd? xD
Because I generally get answers with varrying degrees of vagueness.

But the first two points are things I've specifically asked about, whereas Armored Core isn't.

The most plain text thing I've been told (which has been reiterated by said source a few times) is that there are no plans to continue the souls series, including Bloodborne, at this time.

But when asked if we'd see anything this year either at E3 or TGS (first asked in February) they said not to hold my breath. But that question was in a list of questions i was asking about future ARPGs in particular, so I'm not entirely sure on whether they meant no ARPG this year or no Fromsoft this year.

What do you mean nothing was winked at?

Does that mean no surprises this year?

Would have been crazy if Sony announced the PS4 Pro @ $399... The impact probably could have resulted in a bigger buzz instead of a stealth release...

Thanks for clarifying...

I find it a bit funny that you think your source (a From employee?) will just tell you everything they're doing. He could mislead you on purpose.

So will this be the final year for Gio to raise up his Vita and say "...and Vita"

Vita is not mentioned at E3 anymore for at least one (two?) E3. That's a PSX thing, this year PSX he'll throw it in a trash bin on stage lol

That sounds incredibly hard to believe. I can understand not having anything at this e3 but there's no way they have no plans for the series.

The conference is going to take place during the morning of a workday for me.

I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to avoid spoiling anything for myself during the 8 hours at work tomorrow.

Lets be clear: I really don't get all that much as it is, though I do appreciate what they give me whether it be their time or info.

From what I've heard, From is doing a lot of work right now, most of it I don't know all that much about if anything at all and certainly more than what I relay to you guys.

Of course, that's a possibility that I've considered, but due to the nature of our conversations and relationship its not really something i feel confident about. They're not a family member or close friend I've had for years, but i do feel a certain level of trust, and their reluctancy to give me specifics says that they're less likely to mislead me than if they were appearing to give me mostly cold hard info.

For some bizarre reason, we've never seen Gio Corsi on stage at E3.
The stuff he announces is pretty niche, so it's not so surprising. You already have 3 really good presenters (Asad, Layden and Andi House) so idk if another one is needed
He should definitely announce Shenmue HD Collection tho

So I'm having an E3 party tonight and I'm thinking about making bingo cards for everyone. What do you guys think of these as the choices/squares?

FF7R/FF16, Chrono Break, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, Shenmue 1/2 HD, DMC 2 or 5, backwards compatibility or other firmware update, Bioshock/Borderlands, Knack 2, Sucker Punch, Days Gone, Spiderman, God of War, Detroit, Call of Doody, From Software title, weak applause for a game, overlong/boring demo, ps4/pro price cut, game we already saw yesterday, jab at Microsoft/we are the best console to play on, Dlc exclusive to PlayStation, montage of Indie games.

Any other suggestions? I know Dino Crisis, Chrono Break and Silent Hill are stretches.

Strike that part. DmC2 is not happening. Capcom isn't outsourcing new titles overseas anymore, an internal Itsuno-made DMC would be DMC5, and Hellblade is confirmed NT's biggest title in development atm.

Have a couple of stretches. One or none, and it's too easy. Too many and it becomes almost impossible to win.

Rocksteady's new game, PSN name switch, nostalgic remaster/remake and nostalgic franchise revival are my suggestions to add.

You either know or you don't. None of this highly unlikely BS.

Every fromsoft RPG since Dark Souls has sold well. From will continue making RPGs for years to come. There's really nothing to hold them to Bloodborne in particular.

Sony's $160 million.
