Xenoblade 2 confirmed for Holiday 2017

The Stream looks good, but why does the game look so soft and blurry compared to XCX ?

It doesn't look like it's been made for newer, more powerful hardware.

Because you watched it on a shitty stream. The game is technically superior in every department and that's before the additional polish they're making until launch.

I don't understand, why did they develop a big budget modern RPG with character designs that are obviously meant to appeal to pre-teens. Is that really the audience they're targeting for that type of game in 2017?

Edit: The part that's even stranger is how it appears that someone noticed this as a potential problem after the character designs were finished and tried to correct it by using adult voices.

The characters look like they've stepped out of a Shonen manga.

Not digging that change at all, relative to the XBC cast (which was perfect).

Should I search ingame character pics? Many Xenoblade and Xenoblade X Characters didn't look very good ingame, i think with the anime graphics it will be more consistent in Xenoblade 2.

And i am playing Xenoblade 1 now, great game, but not because of good looking characters.

I'm pretty hyped for Xenoblade 2, great setting, but haters gonna hate.

Guess I should ask in this thread too: Is it worth re-buying Xenoblade Chroncles on 3DS?

I spent like 20 hours in the Wii version screwing around in the first town. Really liked it -- lots to do, and the gamepaly felt more "modern" than most JRPGs. It's just one of those games I drifted off of. I don't know if it's worth replaying that initial stage of the game (is it even worth doing those initial side quests?) and buying it again, but I feel like I'd have more opportunities to play it on a handheld.

100% yes

Is the 3DS version of the first game a good way to play it?

That's what I did and I loved it.

lol it's like people have short term memory.

The gameplay in the Treehouse looked nice, it doesn't seem as busy and difficult to read as Xenoblade X.

I still hope there is enough international backlash to Pyra's clothes design because it is really terrible.

Personally I find the character design to be inoffensive. At worst they're just wearing dumb outfits, and even then I'm not terribly bothered by them. I think they even look kinda cool (the characters, anyway).

WASHED OUT

Stream looks better than the trailer but still meh at the global visuals. XCX or BOTW were much more impressives.

SWEDISH PERFECTION
The world part looks as awesome as ever from what I could see. That was always the best part in Xenoblade Chronicles as well. The characters and what they hint about the story unfortunately instill no confidence in me, especially not since those were the worst things about Xenoblade Chronicles too.

Did they?
I only heard they say they're still populating the cities.

They opened saying they were still in production and that we would be seeing more polish when shipped. I am not expecting much more than that though and I'm very happy as is graphics-wise. I do hope Blades characters can be toggled off during combat, just having the UI is enough.

The world looks good, the combat seems more intuitive, but I can't get past the character designs. The red-haired lady is awful but I can at least tell what they were trying to do
waifu
, Rex is shit for unknown reasons.

I went back and watched the reveal trailer from a few months ago. All the shots of Pyra were from the top of the torso up. When showing the MC running around, she was nowhere to be seen.

It's almost like whoever made that video knew what the reaction would be.

I'm confused, do you think that teenagers don't exist in 2017? Edit: Rereading I see that's not the case. You don't think teenagers like RPGs anymore?

There are tons of adults who this will still appeal to as well.

Like what? Name every department.

Again?! Lighting and materials are a giant step ahead, foliage is better, character models, reflections and shadows are better, even polycount is much higher comparing for example the town we saw with NLA. The only things about on par with X are pop in and lod, which are bad on both, but here they have a few months to make it better.

Hmm. I don't know about this after looking at the Gameplay. I'm still in of course, but there's still something off about it. I really feel like this is being rushed big time.

Graphically it looks worse than X to me and it's framey.

Yeah, you're wrong.

Great conversation.

I have a new heavy entry in my ignore list.
But I laughed as much as the last gif too.

I watched the English trailer and it felt underwheling compared to the Japanese one.
It just doesn't match.

What makes the world look more barren than the first game? We've only seen this starting area and it looks pretty comparable to the starting area in the first game. SO if you're going to say something like this at least explain why.

I like the art style, but I don't like the graphics. I don't know if it's the textures or the resolution, but I think it's a step down from Xeno X.

This is the Angry Simius, from Xeno X:

This is a very similar creature in Xeno 2:

Again, opinions and all, I'm not saying you guys are crazy for liking this, but I think this is pretty disappointing. I'm not shit posting, I love Xenoblade. I just hope they improve the graphics, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the game anyway.

Compressed low quality stream screenshots are not a good way to make an argument.

Even ignoring the compression they are note comparable at all. It also ignores the fact that graphical X was a mess as well. Tones of bad textures and pop ins. Anyone whose a fan of any Xeno game has no right to pop off about graphics lol.

Again you're comparing a game in development/ from a live stream to an actual already release game. Also X had a large Texture pack that was release just because the textures in the base game were so bad. I don't understand why this is such a hard concept for so many of you to grasp. Also the most in X isn't as close to the camera as he is in 2.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
